So it appears Kim Jong Un is about to do something major that will greatly upset the Chinese. By killing his brother, he has effectively locked them into a very turbulent “alternative strategy” if they want to get rid of him. He may have just assured his own demise much sooner than even he expects. Something is up.

I just read a BBC article about Kim Jong Nam's death stating the above is not true. Kim Jong Nam, according to the article, was never considered by anyone as a successor to his father because of his illegitimacy and Kim Jong Nam's grandfather didn't even know he existed until he was a teenager. Plus Kim's father's second or third wife was really pushing for Kim Jong Un (or his older brother) to be the successor. Also, Kim Jong Nam wasn't interested in the job.

He killed his own uncle and a good chunk of his fathers loyalist men. I have no doubt in my mind and wouldn't put it past him that Kim would not off his brother. I would give my life for my family, but we are talking about a regime that needs and has to use fear, intimidation and indoctrination to stay in power.
