Will it ever end?

Israel will no doubt murder a bunch of civilians as a response.

-4 ( +14 / -18 )

A sad event that will see much destruction of Gaza, innocent civilians will pay the cost for Hamas attack against an opponent much stronger and better equipped.

This was always going to happen sooner or later, the prisoners of the Gaza ghetto/prison were always going to organize a mass escape and launch retaliation for the crimes Israel continues to commit against Palestinians, their property, freedoms and futures, and have been committing for decades to much silence and inaction from the international community.

Treat humans like animals for long enough and you will provoke them into action. When that action is against a state with advanced weaponry in all areas, a complete defense force and all you have is a lightly armed militia with home made rockets, no armoured vehicles, no navy and no air force, the outcome is always going to be heavily in Israel's favor.

The slow strangulation of the Palestinians should be condemned in the strongest terms possible. Aid should be given to build and develop their lands and sanctions placed on Israel for land theft, damages to private property, injuries to the general population and forced handing over of all settlements in Palestinian territory to Palestinians.

None of that will happen. Palestinians are in line for another tragedy and the slow strangulation will continue as before, unabated. A continual tragedy that need not happen, if only Israel would man up and treat these poor people as human beings and as they themselves wish to be treated in return.

Israeli occupation is to blame for this human tragedy..HAMAS is Resistance Movement..defending Palestinians against occupation Blockade and daily himulation in checkpoints.

Remember when Israel suddenly and unilaterally handed back the Gaza Strip? Perhaps people here don't. They left tens of millions of dollars worth in ready-made industry and agricultural assets behind. First thing Hamas did, for the "good" of their people? Completely destroy ALL remnants of anything left by Israel. Irrigation systems were uprooted and shredded into pieces before any Palestinian farmer had access to the land.

A quick look at the dress code forced upon women in the Hamas-controlled areas will tell you all you need to know about "treating humans as animals". Nothing like naming streets after suicide bombers who murdered civilians, right? (There are more than 100 of these). Blow up innocent Israelis on the street, or stab them to death with knives? Hamas will pay your family off for years to come. Isn't that..."innocent"? lol. Look at the apologists, already trying to spin a surprise mass-missile attack on indiscriminate civilian and military targets as "not their fault". Ridiculous.

Simple truth is this: Hamas REFUSES to amend their founding charter to erase the statements in favour of "the eradication of the State of Israel". Their leaders still call openly for Israel's death and destruction. Until that changes, treat Hamas as the TERRORIST ORGANIZATION that it 100% is.

Hezbollah will counter attack from the North along with the Hamas counter attack from the south and Iran from the west and cause massive damage just when Israel was feeing safe from attacks. This will install another decade of fear into the Israelis. Israel will never be safe from Iran, Hamas and Hezbollah. If Iran had a Nuclear weapon they would have no guilt at all on placing it in the heart of Tel-Aviv. .They will Rise the yellow flag with pride over Tel Aviv and burn the Star of David Flag. This will not end well for all involve. Ho Hah Hezbollah

Just as Israel names things after it military members responsible for murdering many many more Palestinians. But I guess that doesnt count. Palestinian civilians dont count to many who support Israel and its own despicable actions against the people they imprison behind walls in Gaza. They are not all Palestinian freedom fighters, there are children and mothers and elderly.

Each side has done horrible things to the other. It's is just Israel is more efficient at killing many more Palestinians than the other way around, and the Palestinians dont go around stealing Jewish lands and building settlements in them, year after year expanding them.

Israel has turned itself into the bad guy, and is losing support year after year from those who used to support them. That happens when hard line people get elected to lead and do all those bad things against their prisoners the Palestinians.

I don't think it was that clearcut. From the link below:

Some sources claimed that large numbers of greenhouses had been handed over to assist economic regrowth, but were destroyed by the Palestinians. A New York Times investigation revealed that at least half of the greenhouses had actually been destroyed by Israeli settlers before they left.

The link also suggests that things were looted and not destroyed (no mention of Hamas):

The remaining settlements' greenhouses were looted by Palestinians for 2 days after the transfer, for irrigation pipes, water pumps, plastic sheeting and glass, but the greenhouses themselves remained structurally intact, until order was restored.

But what to believe? I don't know.

10 ( +11 / -1 )

I wonder if anyone could squarely blame Palestinians for the intensified attacks after witnessing: the continuing expansion of settlements, settlers' attacks on the local Palestinians and Israeli-Saudi negotiations for normalization, which do not give a damn to the Palestinian cause. Hopefully, the Palestinian authority will be able to convincingly articulate its grievances and persuade the international public opinion. The Israeli public should note that the current government failed to protect the country due to its hardline policy, and that it deserves non-confidence vote.

The Israelis keep expanding and stealing land; Palestinians, including children are detained and interrogated!

Why wouldn’t the Palestinians defend themselves?

5 ( +9 / -4 )

For so long The Occupation forces of Israel has killed and murdered Palestinians on daily bases in almost every city in the occupied Palestine.

The Palestinians have every right to retaliate and defend their people.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

The Palestinians have run out of patience.

3 ( +8 / -5 )

HAMAS is not resistance but a violent movement and does not represent all Palestinians, the Palestinians are much better economically under the mostly peaceful Fatah, no wonder they split back in 2007.

Love how no matter how many acts of violence the Israeli regime perpetrates against Palestine, whenever Palestine does an act of violence against the Israeli regime, it's an 'attack' which the escalating Israeli regime attacks 'respond to'.

Makes the disappearance of 2013-2022 violence in another situation seem quaint.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

A massive failure by the Israeli intelligence.

0 ( +5 / -5 )

161 Palestinians have been killed, in Gaza strikes. 40 Israelis killed.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

Zionism is a racist cancer that needs to be removed. It would be nice if this could achieved peacefully.

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

If Iran had a Nuclear weapon they would have no guilt at all on placing it in the heart of Tel-Aviv.

Would they really though?

Detonating a nuclear weapon over Tel Aviv would also kill Palestinians and irradiate large parts of the middle east.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Zionism is a racist cancer that needs to be removed.

It can also be see as an understandable movement of a group of people constantly discriminated against and treated badly. For such people to want a homeland is understandable. When the creation of that homeland displaces another group who were discriminated against is quite sad.

I suspect we'll have to wait until we're invaded by a group of aliens who will remove all our weapons and tell us to behave nicely.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

It is all due to what the Israelis have done so far. In fact, they deserve much more but no international organization or a country hear the voices of palestinian victims. No one hear the voice of thousands of killed palestinian civillians. Vaoow 21 Israelis were killed, so pitty!

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

This is just disgusting. I hope Israel crushes this terrorist organisation and all its supporters.

it is sad that antisemitism festers right next door to the country of Israel and seeing it fester here in this board is also a shame.

Reaping what they sowed, the US has funded the occupation of Israel, and we as American should accept responsibility the persecution of the people of Palestine

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

The Hamas militants are subhuman and should he eliminated by any means necessary.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

What a mess. Israel can't even control a tiny strip of land like Gaza. Well let's hope Hezbollah remains in their "country" during all of this.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Trump was right again, the money Biden released to Iran would be used to fund terrorism.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

Taiwan, maybe Israel should get out of the Palestinian land,Biden talking about making peace between two terrorists states Israel and Saudi Arabia, nobody cares what the European say, they catching their own hell with Russia

Even Iran can't move equipment that fast into Gaza I'm sure.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Both Democrats and Republicans stand behind Israel in its defense against these terrorist attacks.

It's just insane to think a surprise invasion is a path towards getting their land back. They don't care. They just want to kill as many Israelis as possible and screw getting their land back.

And this is from someone who hates Netanyahu. He's given up on a peace plan. He's not a partner for peace at all. He's bad for the region.

You can support Palestinians without supporting suicide missions. Support thoigs that will force the world to put pressure on Israel to negotiate a peace deal. Don't accept terrorism as a legitimate response or any kind of path to a deal. It's not.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

When the majority of the world is not on Israel side ,the people of Israel should take this as a warning, the European government and the US government are not only a few ,when the majority of 8 billion people in the world do not support the occupation of Palestine

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Mark: The Palestinians have every right to retaliate and defend their people.

Their choice will lead to massacre of their people. If that's your goal, congrats. It will soon be a reality.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Superlib, their is no legitimate path dealing with Israel,as long as the US is enabling Israel

1) How is this Iran's fight? 2) Do you honestly think Tehran wouldn't be incinerated in response?

Quite so, if any of them want to continue their lucrative careers in US politics.

Russia? We haven't dumped weapons into there since WW2.

Truth, but one does wonder if Russia has helped organize this to try and take the heat off.

Just a reminder, when I was born the White State in South Africa was a respected member of the Commonwealth and the ANC reviled, Russian backed terrorists (according to the news media of North America, most of Latin America, and western Europe)

And anyone advocating total support for the regime against the terrorists were absolutely certain that there was nothing to be ashamed of in doing so, and the radicals and 'Russian dupes' who said differently would die disgraced and shunned if they gained public attention.

30 years later, it was considered shameful to support the regime, and a badge of honor to oppose it, and a few years after that, American Presidents wanted to be photographed shaking a terrorists hand and quoted praising his good character.

So, if you expect to be alive in thirty years, you might want to start walking back your support for the Israeli regime, and moderating your description of Hamas.

Yeah, aside from the fundamentalism, the rejection of negotiation, and the elimination of the state of Israel, totally the same.

As Israel's former PM noted, this is murder.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Its the beginning of the end for Hamas.

The response from Israel will be as always, way out of proportion and will kill thousands of Palestinians leaving a whole new generation of children bitter at losing parents to Israeli forces and driving them to join HAMAS or similar organizations. This will not be the end of HAMAS, it will regenerate it and provide a bounty of new recruits.

It is basically fruitless to attack a superior force in this way, as it will be followed by much destruction of what you hold dear. Perhaps their hope is the Israeli's will go so far and do such horrific things to civilians that the world will be taken aback and begin to chastise Israel for a barbaric response that is as bad as HAMAS's original attack or even worse. The world is used to Israel going overboard in retaliation in past "events".

The actual point is, the world does nothing while Palestinian life is whittled away by new and expanding settlements that steal land from Palestinians and makes even more of them homeless. They see nothing good on the horizon for their people until someone can step in and make a difference.

HAMAS action is the wrong action to take, but from their perspective, at least someone is trying something. Time that someone else stood up for the downtrodden Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza so that HAMAS becomes superfluous. They just want a fair and free life like all people should be able to expect. They are not getting that while under Israel's boot and occupied.

What else can they do but evaporate and become extinct? They can struggle to survive.
