Despite fierce U.S. pressure, Israel has said it will go ahead with an assault on the southern Gaza city of Rafah,

Sorry but i don't believe the USA has imposed fierce pressure at all .

USA are allies and sworn to protect Israel

Perhaps if the USA threatened to withdrawal protection of Israel that would be considered 'fierce pressure'

I suspect the USA will rush in and pretend to save the day and then building a USA military base and consulate in Gaza

Same old tactics

State Department say Israel violated international law with US weapons

3 ( +8 / -5 )

So, at this point it becomes crystal clear that Israel simply don't want to negotiate and are intent on fully driving their genocide of Palestinians to its farthest extent. In some ways, this is a political masterstroke by Hamas, because they now have completely exposed Israel for what it is at this point - the mask is off and any facades they have attempted to maintain through this process have dissolved away now.

You have a modern terrorist state on the loose.

Terrorism /ˈtɛrərɪz(ə)m/: Noun. The unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims.

Genocide /ˈdʒɛnəsʌɪd/: Noun. The deliberate killing of a large number of people from a particular nation or ethnic group with the aim of destroying that nation or group.

The Palestinian people need more help than this. You really need to ask why the world is not helping them out.

There are lots of people who won't like the truth of that answer though.

Hamas says Gaza ceasefire efforts are back at square one

Maybe because negotiating with a terrorist group like the Gaza occupying genocidal Hamas tends not to be done in good faith by a group of baby murderers.

We have far more useful military bases and a consulate would only be a favor for Israel.

Israel obviously doesn’t want peace only war and mayhem.

The Israelis will continue to try to devastate Gaza as that is their agenda.

1 ( +8 / -7 )

Israelis leaders are suffering from psychological insecurities, they are fighting with each others now,

1 ( +6 / -5 )

Produce the hostages, show proof of life and then take it from there, if not, Israel should go in and weed out the main leadership of Hamas.

-10 ( +4 / -14 )

According to AP part of the ceasefire terms would include “Israeli troops withdrawing from Gaza in a series of timed steps”

Prior to 10/7 there were no Israeli troops in Gaza. So Hamas wants to go back to the status quo prior to 10/7?

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

Israel obviously doesn’t want peace only war and mayhem.

Peace would be easy: a full surrender of Hamas and the return of Hostages. If Hamas did both of these the conflict would be over.

The Israelis will continue to try to devastate Gaza as that is their agenda.

Then why would Hamas poke the bear like they did on 10/7 knowing it’s giving Israel exactly what they want: an excuse to attack?

I find myself in an awkward position on how to comment upon this situation... particularly, since ISRAEL enacted revised laws that suggested any disagreement with the Government of their Country was an "anti-semantic" act...

There is NOTHING in Rafah, No Hostages, No Hamas Leadership, and No rewards.

Netanyahu is looking for a ghost that is long gone.

If Netanyahu thinks he or his warmongers will ever see these hostages alive or be able to crush Hamas!? he is living a delusional dream.

If Netanyahu wants to bring these hostage home alive her needs to get off his horses and start facing reality. This so called war is over long ago when Hamas offered to return the hostage ahead of the IGF ground operation on Oct. 9th. 2023.

There’s was an article posted 2 hours ago from Haaretz stating that 14 rockets had been fired out of Rafah towards Beersheba. There’s clearly a Hamas presence there

@ TokyoOldMan,

Yes that is TRUE.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

Maybe because negotiating with a terrorist group like the Gaza occupying genocidal Hamas tends not to be done in good faith by a group of baby murderers.

The majority of the world does not classify Hamas as a terrorist group.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

Looking at the article photo all that firepower against Hamas a Guerrilla Fighting Group and can't even score one single Goal.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

The majority of the world does not classify Hamas as a terrorist group.

The majority of countries do, yes

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

The only ceasefire should be when Hamas is eradicated from Palestine. Shame on those who refuse to support the invasion of Rafah and help cleanse Palestine of evil.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

Germany and Japan both surrendered without every soldier having to be eliminated.

What is Netanyahu's plan. ?

Seems an annexation of Gaza under full military and civil control by Israel.

This is what is happening in the occupied West Bank.

You cannot negotiate with the current Israeli leadership, some of whom are fanatical zionists.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

Germany and Japan both surrendered without every soldier having to be eliminated.

Yes, the keyword here being surrendered. Has Hamas surrendered?

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

The majority of countries do, yes

If you are one of the closed-minded people who think the most of the world consists of English speaking countries, Japan and Europe. According to the UN, that big group with all the different countries in it, Hamas is not a terrorist organisation.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Israel keeps refusing demands for a ceasefire so no Hamas has not surrendered.

Needs leaders of both sides to agree to a ceasefire or a surrender.

Both sides leaders are fixed in a fantasy....Hamas sees the end of Israel as a state, Israel sees the end of Palestine as a state.

The conduct of Israel in this war has beencriminal....Hamas fighting in Gaza has not.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

In other news , 142 nations including Australia have voted for a Palestinian state.

Israels representative mockingly used a mini shredder to destroy the document whilst in the UN Chamber.

Oh...what a winner !

Time running out for Israel....Palestinian statehood is an idea whose time has come....hurrah !

Now about those Israeli war crimes.....

4 ( +7 / -3 )

Needs leaders of both sides to agree to a ceasefire or a surrender.

Why does there need to be an agreement between both Parties? If we’re going to compare it to Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan like you did earlier, the Allies didn’t agree to a ceasefire. They devastated both countries until they were forced to surrender. Was that bad in your eyes? Should the Allies have been less aggressive towards Germany and Japan in hopes of a ceasefire?

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Israel is suffering from psychological whiplash,of their own doing, now the US said they violated International law

0 ( +4 / -4 )

Time running out for Israel....Palestinian statehood is an idea whose time has come....hurrah !

I’m genuinely curious: Let’s say Palestine is granted statehood and both the West Bank and Gaza are formed into a single state with Israel completely removing all settlers and blockades. Would you consider the entire issue resolved?

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Don't forget occupier told Palestinian to go to west, now they are in Rafah. Just for easy target for occupier?

This month UN General Assembly called a vote for Palestinian Membership. The assembly adopted a resolution with 143 votes in favor, 25 abstain and nine against.

.

Just check who did make dramatic show from it.

Bob , you are asking questions of me....would my answers make any difference to this genocidal war ?

No.

I report now that CNN has interviewed some Israeli ""whistleblowers " about conditions in the black holes Israel calls detention centres. These whistleblowers worked in the black holes {Israel calls them detention centres }

Hostages {Palestinians held without charge } are all blindfolded, stripped of clothing and forced to wear nappies ,routinely handcuffed in a way that causes injury and even amputations of affected hands by unqualified other hostages {Palestinians }, forbidden to speak on pain of beatings, having trained attack dogs set on them for perceived violations, made to sit or be positioned in stress and pain causing positions , denied food and water routinely.

Children including girls as young as 6 years of age are dragged from their homes at night and imprisoned under similar, but slightly "better " conditions.

Women are denied sanitary pads and many report groping and sex assault by the guards.

ALL ARE HELD IN MILITARY DETENTION WITH ZERO ACCESS TO ANY COURTS.

Hamas and other groups are fighting this as well as the illegal occupation of their lands by a brutal occupation army and state police apparatus.

There is zero distinction between these actions and that of Nazi Germany.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

I hate to repeat what others have already written, but since some of you don't seem to get it, I have no choice.

The terrorist attack by the terrorist group known as Hamas is what instigated this war. Israel was singing and dancing and having a good time when the terrorist attack by the terrorist group known as Hamas came down, killing over a thousand innocent people, raping numerous women, incinerating babies in ovens, and doing all sorts of other horrible things. Just because Hamas is full of hatred.

That is how it started. But then Hamas took it further. Instead of quietly giving up the hostages, laying down their arms, and making a complete surrender they decided to turn Gaza into a hell hole by using their own people as human shields, using hospitals as military bases, and leaving innocent people to fend for themselves. They consistently attack any aid trucks or convoys that somehow get through, and keep everything for themselves.

Hamas is one of the worst terrorist organizations on Earth right now. Israel has no choice but to obliterate them. If innocents are harmed, it's because Hamas cowardly put them in harms way.

Israel will win this fight no matter how hard Biden, other congressional idiots, and stupid university protesters try to stop them.

All that being said, once again, Hamas has the power to end this war by simply giving up the remaining hostages, laying down their arms, and making a complete unconditional surrender.

Unfortunately, I'm not going to hold my breath. Hamas is full of hate for Israel, Jews in general, and freedom.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Spot on.

If you oppose Israel's right to self-defense, you support the terrorists.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

If not for Hamas' barbarism last October 7, none of this would be happening right now.

No one should fail, or deliberately choose, to forget that.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

If not for Hamas' barbarism last October 7, none of this would be happening right now.

One of the worst mass violations committed against civilians in history.

Now they get what is owed to them for their genocidal attack.

Israel generously allows the Arabs to occupy Gaza, and Judea and Samaria, but they have worn out their welcome.

US-Israel Relationship: Who’s Calling the Shots?

Either country, which is fine--as long as the goal is to exterminate the terrorists in that region, and in Syria. Pure animals.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

I don't see Israel killing any Palestinians because the blood of innocent in people in Gaza is totally and unequivocally on Hamas. Hamas even bombed their own hospital, either because of missile failure or most likely to gain sympathy by blaming Israel. When Hamas uses human beings as human shields, what do you think will happen? Wakeup Hamas terrorist lovers! Their charter even calls for the elimination of Israel. You want this to end? Then protest against Hamas. Let's see how well that will go.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

Hamas has not done well for the Palestinian people.

The real terrorists and animals are the ones committing a genocide against the Palestinians.
