A string of public officials have been vaccinated before cameras

and right wing conspiracy theorists in the US and 'abroad' have cried 'fake picture' in their ongoing attempts to discredit anyone they perceive to be a Trump opponent while helping their Trump further divide long splintered 'western' democracies. And republics.

The globe's various troll armies continue to push wack anti-vax messages and messages downplaying, even denying the pandemic. Their intended audience includes the poorly educate, intellectually vulnerable and gullible, many of whom have been sickened by the virus.

Too many hurt by the virus distrusted 'traditional, mainstream' sources, instead believed messages from the trolls using Qanon and other fringe/wack sources. Online trolls are among the lowest form of human life. They have shown they are willing to destroy lives to help their authoritarian regimes.

Black people in the US, like all oppressed people, have long memories.

Well said. It will be a tough hurdle for black Americans to overcome the long history of Democrat/Progressive policies used against them. From slavery to eugenics-inspired abortion and sterilization policies, citizens of every race and ethnicity would easily be discouraged by Harris’s putting on such a show for the cameras. After all, less than six months ago Harris was attacking Biden for trying to deny her the right to integrate into white schools through his opposition to school busing. Good thing the vaccine was developed under the party of Lincoln. Americans can feel confident that it was not developed to be used against any group of people based on their race.

Oh, that's very interesting. If Democrats and progressives are so racist, why do the vast majority of minorities vote for them?

Affirmative action, disparate impact theory, the racialized concept of white privilege, etc etc. - pretty much the same race based politics the Dems used against blacks and now use against whites for the purposes of maintaining political power. The Dems have always used race to pit one group of Americans against another. I suppose they reason that because it always seems to work, why change?

Ah, so minorities vote for Democrats because they approve of their racist policies? That doesn't make any sense.

Right, let's pretend race doesn't exist, let's just pretend the United States was founded on the backs of minorities. Slavery is over with and blacks need to just get over the massive wealth disparities between whites and blacks.

@zichi: Segregation was strongest in the republic controlled southern states. Jim Crow laws. Even today too many serious racist incidents like the shooting of a black jogger by two whites.

You show an astonishing lack of understanding of history and even current events. The Dems controlled the southern states up until and through the end of Jim Crow. Come on man - Google it! Only a few of the Dixiecrats changed parties- most all remained loyal Democrats to the end of their days. George Floyd was killed in probably the most Liberal city in America. All of the cases of police involved shootings and the riots, burning and looting were in Progressive run cities.

Ironically, today there is a resurgence in segregationist attitudes among the Progressive Left today. Separate dorms and graduations on college campuses are becoming the norm. Corporate critical race theory training in the separating trainees based on race. Dems are again up to their old racialized tricks.

It is part of the party platform to use race to benefit non-whites. You didn’t know that?

Right, let's pretend race doesn't exist, let's just pretend the United States was founded on the backs of minorities.

Who ever said that there hasn’t been racism against blacks in America? BTW America was not settled for the purpose of slavery. Slavery existed already all over the world including among Indian tribes.

Slavery is over with and blacks need to just get over the massive wealth disparities between whites and blacks.

The lesson America should have learned from slavery and Jim Crow is that discrimination based on skin color is wrong. And for a few years at the end of the 60’s America had a chance to end the use of race in government policies. The idea of a non-racist government soon went out the window culminating in a full fledged race centric Democrat party again today. Just too many votes to be had to pursue color blind policies.

To benefit non-whites? No, to level the playing field. Whites created a whole system to exclude and diminish minorities, notably blacks. To establish systems to help these groups isn't racism, it's working to correct past sins. If you think it's a bad idea, I am genuinely curious what you think the solution is; just telling blacks to get over it? Declare yourself "color-blind?"

How so? Personally, I don’t see what the photo op does when these people take a shot, but more power to them I guess. If the left continues to use race, class and gender politics as political edge to divide the country.
