I know this area well.
What is not being mentioned yet is the loss of wildlife.
It will be very substantial.

What is not being mentioned yet is the loss of wildlife.
Human beings don't even give a flying you-know-what about each other. Expecting them to care about animals is an admirable position to take, but not one that we have ever shown evidence of.

Gary, the natural local animal loss will delay the habitat for how many years? the timber loss will reduce the evident need for carbon capture to protect the younger generations. Whose parents ignore the issue. thank you, dude, that response is invaluable.

Loss of animal life is being reported - just not in this article.
Many many dedicated people with interest in animal welfare will be very active over the next weeks or so.
The plight of animals in disaster zones in Aust has long been a concern of 1,000s of people, whether it be floods or fires or whatever.

Each year devastating fires in Australia.
I wonder what is left to burn...
Does it have anything to do with mines and maybe absence or lack of environmental regulations ?
Australia has a lot of mines and exports huge amounts of resources.
At the same time, it is the size of a continent.
Is the percentage of areas of forest reducing or not with the years?

37c is not a heat wave. It is a normal summer so far.

John-san - you forgot to mention a critical factor in this weeks Grampian fires has not only been the temperature ( it did reach over 40+ degrees this week btw) - but the wind.
It's been gusting from 40kmh ~ 90kmh all week.
