Passenger planes being shot down over Russian airspace is more than inconvenient for travelers. As is adding hours to flight times to avoid Russian airspace. Sort yourself out first.

Heathrow is a private company and like most companies risk management is based on costs. The most extreme case would be the Fukushima nuclear plant.
