EADS owners of airbus ,shares fell 0.5 euros about 4 percent of its value of this news,this about worth 560 million USD.

Other loss is the plane of flight 447, which is worth about 200 million. More loses also for insurance firms of Air France but huge gain for the passengers families in insurance payouts.

Boeing aircraft maker which is worth 35 USD billion,the share only worth 50 percent of highest value at around USD 50 a share.

Airbus-EADS is worth roughtly 15 billon USD. This is looking at the financial aspects of fight447.

Google and Microsoft both today are worth 340 billion dollars about roughly 10 times Boeing. No wonder richest man is still Bill Gates.

Most popular way and safest way for international trade will always be via your fingers travelling on keyboards in cyber online trade/deals.

I don't think the families of the passengers, are thinking of this tragedy as anything but a loss. Certainly not a gain. There will undoubtedly be insurance payouts to the families of those lost, but it will in no way compensate them for the lives of those who have been lost.

Instant decompression at +30,000' and -20 degrees would have led to unconsciousness quickly for most of them, and no knowledge of the plunge to the ocean; a few might have grabbed the oxygen masks, if they deployed, but it would certainly be a horrifying few minutes for them. The flight deck would have been worse, as they struggled to control the airplane...

Just be thankful that you were not on that flight.

The truth is, nobody will have any idea of what really happened unless the black boxes are found. Wonder if they ever will be recovered...

Doubtable, as far as we know it can be 15,000 feet down the Atlantic. And I don't think those things float or have some sort of tracking gizmo.

they emit a tracking signal for 30 days. and good idea: make them floatable

metto - the "black boxes" actually orange in colour, have a pinger on the outside, automatically activated in water, and the batteries are good for 30 days; the range is around 2 miles, depending on conditions. But it also depends on the topography of the ocean bottom, other debris lying on top of it, as to whether they would be picked up by hydrophones.

"good idea" make them floatable..its more like one of the worst design flaws of modern times has been revealed by this tragedy..hopefully they can find them..they managed to retrieve artifacts from the titanic,and these recorders have "pingers" attached which should provide directional location.

Tropical storms can reach up to 40,000 ft and while most commercial planes have capabilities to see storms approaching, they can still take a flight by suprise. These were experienced pilots who unfortunately met the Mother of all storms. We can only pray the plane ripped apart and rendered all passengers unconcious quickly. However the turbulence leading up to the end were hellish. RIP to all aboard and their families.

It would be tough to make the black boxes float, they are rather stuffed with electronics and insulation in a heavy case. It could be done but the floatation would likely be susceptable to heat. Maybe something with aerogel? Tough problem....

Given the length of time that the messages were being transmitted by the plane's computers I would suspect that it was not a bomb, or a rather small one. But the black boxes are the missing piece of the puzzle. Would have been a horrible way to die.

This is a ITCZ storm (50k ft) = you can't fly a passenger jet over that. =You go around or thru (Air France)

Airbus/Boeing need to do move research and development on making planes that fly better in 160 km per hour, wind storms especially when flying over atlantic.

Boeing/airbus should use newer planes that can fly better in 160km wind storms.

The planes flying today,are too huge and not very aerodynamic against 160km per hour windstorms.

Do not think the storm caused the plane to fail. Am suspicious of how quickly the authorities dismissed sabotage. Something STINKS about this event. The only question is who or what...

There was no distress call when the autopilot was manually disengaged by the crew several minutes before the plane disappeared from radar. No foul play here. If a bombed had downed this plane, all functions would cease immediately, and there would be no autopilot notification sent. The pilot sent messages indicated heavy turbulence. A rare event, but a tropical storm took this plane down.

This was not an old airplane, yet hopefully is a wake up call to Airbus who keeps building planes bigger and bigger...
