No surprise there. The CCP has accepted that a damaged image is preferrable to having the HK as an example of a free Chinese society right in its side, so they are are going to finish this.

Those pictures really stop the "only young unemployed brain washed students" propaganda ...

I think in the end HKers should seriously consider moving to places like Taiwan, Singapore, KL, etc.

Britain is opening the door to almost three million people from Hong Kong. I'm not generally a fan of mass immigration, but in this case I am genuinely proud of my country for doing this.

What is Japan going to do? Japan has a declining population and a need for immigrants and there will be many more Hong Kong residents looking to get out, so I hope Japan will provide a home for many of them too.

Hong Kong police rejected an application Monday for an annual candlelight vigil marking the anniversary this week of the 1989 Tiananmen Square crackdown, as residents rushed to apply for passports that could allow them to move to the United Kingdom.

...“My BNO passport expired in 2004, but at the time I didn’t renew it because I trusted China,” said 40-year-old Peter Chan, who works in asset management and waited in line for more than two hours.

"I trusted China". It appears that many people have made that mistake. Best to get out while the going is good. It won't be long before communist China, thru their chosen/pet Hong Kong legislators, no longer allow the issuing of passports.

Hong Kong used to be so nice place to live... not anymore, communist imperialism kills this city. It is sad when you must emigrate from the country, city you love.  You have my disdain CCP. Hong Kong people be brave.

I have family in HK, been out there nearly 20 years, their kids grew up there. They feel this time China won’t step back and will soon complete the take over, so are planning to go back to the UK before things get worse.

I for one, would be extremely happy to see Hong Kong people settling in the UK – they are hard-working, intelligent, and have respect for the role of law.
