Time to leave Hong Kong

It is no longer Hong Kong. I knew China will not keep it's promise of One country two systems... I am just surprised it took this long...

Surprised it took 20 years to start the democratic crackdown. Or perhaps that was always the plan.

Time to leave Hong Kong.

2 yrs ago was the time to leave. Now housing prices will be depressed farther. I believe someone here mentioned that ... er ... 2 yrs ago. I will miss HG and hope all my friends there and their families get out safely. The same goes for Macau and everyone in the NT.

Surprised it took 20 years to start the democratic crackdown. Or perhaps that was always the plan.

It was always the plan. China makes 50 and 100 and 200 yr plans and begins actions, sometimes tiny, on each. The rest of the world just isn't prepared to take action when the first signs of a plan are finally seen. Those "surface features" in the ocean? Those are part of multiple 100+ yr CCP-Chinese plans. Long term planning for things that are truly internal is smart, but there will be a day when China claims that any part of Asia is really part of China, so anything they do is "internal".

TROUBLEMAKERS MUST GO! The Dawn of Hong Kong!

The Hong Kong legislature (Parliament) is NOT a place for wrestling, dueling and  violence games! No more delaying tactics like "Filibusting" are allowed!  This is a place for politicians discussing politics not a kindergarden playground!

TROUBLEMAKERS MUST GO!

Indeed. The sooner Beijing's lackeys, the violent cops and wumao crowd are out of the political scene, the better.

If democracy can be snuffed out as easy as it was in HK, it can happen anywhere.
