There is currently a WORLD stooge talking us into a global war.

Tsk tsk, you should speak more politely about the honorable president Xi of China.

committed with intent to cause death or serious bodily injury

I hate that. If you cannot read minds its pretty hard to determine intent. That statement needs to be updated to include callous and wanton disregard for the civilian casualties these goons inflict and were predictable but they claim were "collateral damage" and "Oops! Butterfingers!". They just say they didn't intend it and walk away.

Big HK tycoons pro-Beijing are as much responsible for this mess. 6 families make almost 50% of the HK GDP.

rlperez@hotmail.com.auOct. 12 11:03 pm JSTThere is currently a WORLD stooge talking us into a global war. When will the people start a PEACEFUL protest against him? Over half of the nations people did not vote for this stooge so when will they start PEACEFULLY protesting? This same fool, and we all know who he is, is an embarrassment to his nation, is ignoring the laws of his nation and ignoring Congress.

That's right. He called himself the 'chosen one' (a messiah) just a few weeks ago and where was the outrage from religious leaders? He's committing crimes against humanity with those concentration camps holding those abducted children who have NO hope. And he's kowtowing to foreign dictators and even openly and blatantly asked China for help in bullying his political rivals. And many more crimes.

Donald Trump is an arrogant immature despot and usurper who deserves no recognition and no respect whatsoever from anyone. He's the #1 threat to mankind today, a criminal Mussolini for the 21st century. All he deserves is prison.

Democracy is definitely the most evolved social status difficult to achieve and maintain.

Carrie Lam is a failure. She is a CCP stooge and the HKers ain't going to take anymore! And to think, this is an embarrassment already to the 70th anniversary of Mao the Mass Murderer taking over China but with all those Young Communist Ladies marching in goose-stepping past the portrait of their Little Tin God last week they're going to call the HKers 'rioters' and 'scum' no matter if the protests are violent or not, ahem.

theFu: "Directly elected leaders. Not pre-approved, appointed, Beijing committee selected leaders."

In most nations, including here in Australia, one can only elect someone that is selected to stand for office by their political party. there are very few independents and, because of lack of campaign funds, even fewer independents get voted in.

This has nothing to do with HKers wanting the right to vote but everything to do with wanting an independent nation. This is another story because HK is part of China, it is under Chinese sovereignty.

Just imagine if these were not PEACSFUL protests! To many commentators on this site it is OK to riot, vandalise public and private properties, attack and assault police, attack and assault citizens whenever you what your way. Whenever you disagree with a law or government decision just RIOT. This is what they call democracy, freedom.

what are they fighting for?

Directly elected leaders. Not pre-approved, appointed, Beijing committee selected leaders.

Lam and all Beijing-appointed leaders need to step down. Fresh, direct, elections, open to any politician (for lack of a better word) need to be happen.

Lam can run too, BTW.

Wolfpack, what are they fighting for? They can already directly elect their own representatives in their legislature in their own system. The extradition bill has been withdrawn. Arrested rioters to be freed is not going to happen.

These people are incredibly courageous in fighting for political rights against a communist regime with a track record of brutal oppression. The Chinese have been busy using their wealth to invent new ways to suppress the inalienable rights of individuals. They are using that wealth to spread their ideology as seen by the NBA’s folding to the bullies in Beijing last week. The protesters are more American than a good portion of America’s corporate leaders. Google, Apple, and the NBA are expressing support for socialist regimes like the Chinese Communists over the rights and freedoms of individuals. America has forgot about what America is all about. The Hong Kong protesters know better.
