Boston hospital patient without COVID shot denied heart transplant

“He wants to be assured by his doctors that his condition would not be worse or fatal with this COVID vaccine.”

And the doctors at the hospital, whom he trusts to perform a heart transplant on him, aren’t good enough sources of medical knowledge when they tell him “Getting this vaccine will make you more likely to survive when we cut your actual heart out”? This isn’t about ‘wanting to be assured the vaccine is safe’. This is about wanting a doctor to tell him he’s okay to get a heart transplant without a vaccination, which no heart surgeon is ethically going to do.

A new segregation begins

You wanna know how I know this isn’t ‘new segregation’? Because being unvaxxed, unlike being black, is a choice. This guy wakes up every day and knowingly and actively chooses not to get vaccinated. This guy can either get the shot and have an infinitesimally tiny chance of dying from side effects or he can have a 100% chance of dying from heart failure because the heart he would have gotten went to someone else. The choice is his.
