Greene was determined to force her colleagues to be on the record with their vote – putting them in the politically uncomfortable position of backing the speaker and seen as joining forces with Democrats to save him.

Obviously, this wasn't an uncomfortable position at all: Johnson won the vote 359-43.

Greene has to realise that her colleagues hate her and the stupid things she does.

They are too crazy. Even for the Republican Party.

15 ( +16 / -1 )

She only got 11 Republican votes!! Even among the lunatic caucus, she didn't get full support.

11 ( +13 / -2 )

Because Trump told them not to and explained to her that it’s not the correct timing

Yeah, I don't like him, but Mike is politically pretty savvy. Well, he did get help from Mitch McConnell, but Mike holds the cards over Trump at the moment, and Trump knows it.

Too bad that MTG couldn't read the room.

Because Trump told them not to and explained to her that it’s not the correct timing

Yet she and 11 other far-right crazy Repubs gave Trump the finger and did it anyway...

Highly unusual, the boost from Democrats led by Rep. Hakeem Jeffries of New York, showed the exhaustion in Congress over the far-right antics. Jeffries and his leadership team had said it was time to “turn the page” on the GOP turmoil and vote to table Greene’s resolution — ensuring Johnson’s job is saved, for now.

That's right - The "Libs" saved MAGA-Mike from his own MAGA-insurrectionists...

MAGA-world is self-imploding - and taking the Repub Party down with it....something Lindsey Graham accurately predicted in 2016...

She's proud, she said. I sometimes wonder if that is the problem with people like MTG: they have their pride and shame mixed up.

The US a gone so low with trump and friends... so sad for this country.

10 ( +12 / -2 )

God, she's such a bimbo. How did someone so crass, extreme and uneducated become a congresswoman?

15 ( +17 / -2 )

I watched it earlier today on YouTube. It was real humiliation. Only 11 GOP voted for the Speaker to vacate. The GOP continues to shoot its own foot. What Greene probably doesn't know is a few of the GOP threatened to vacate their own seats of the Speaker is outsted, thus giving control to the Democrats.

Ooooof the cringe. Imagine thinking she is doing anything worthwhile. Shudder.

What is the new deal, Green?

Marge Green is a caricature of a congresswoman (or a woman), no matter from where you look.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Greene, like that other one, what's her face, oh yeah Boobert ....

nothing but d.d.d. - deranged dizzy dames (as my former Commander would've called them).

This is a good thing. In a way not mentioned in the article or the comments so far.

Taylor Green's, along her erstwhile pals on the Freedumb Caucus, stale antics and-click bait performative nonsense neither play in Peoria nor with a good chunk of the GOP House.

So much so that House Dems and Republicans have repeatedly now worked together to get the basics of governing done. Recall the same cooperation with the recent budget non-show down.

Now, here's the kicker: this cooperation demonstrates the disunity in the Republican party. The House Majoirty cannot govern because of that disunity. And House Dems are solidly behind the shadow Speaker Jeffries.

In the past, going all the way back, when this happens to party, their in the majoirty are numbered.

Simply put, the Republican party is frayed. If it does't self-correct soon, which it won't so long as the Bad Orange Man is around...

7 ( +7 / -0 )

oops. Their days being able to get a majority in the House...

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Also, if they do boot Mike Johnson out and vote someone else in, they have a high risk of losing the vote and getting Hakeem Jeffries. They only have one vote majority.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

I like MTG very much, but she should have known she wouldn't get the votes.

So when will our MAGA-friends here thank Hakeem Jeffries for saving their Repub Speaker from humiliation and defeat from the insurrection led by his own MAGA Team Red members?

Trump also made clear he still valued Greene, perhaps his biggest ally in the House, even as he rejected her proposal. "I absolutely love Marjorie Taylor Greene,” he said as he urged Republicans to table her motion.

Trump just acknowledging that Greene is what MAGA is all about:

Distraction, creating cut -out enemies , obstruction, conspiracy, power acquisition and doing zero in the interests of the American people.

No reason to say thank you, even without the Dems, MTG just didn't have the votes, not to mention, there wasn't any insurrection.

Distraction, creating cut -out enemies ,

Ignoring the Marxist agenda and acknowledging the enemies of the US.

obstruction, conspiracy,

Not bowing down to the globalist agenda and rightfully and justifiably questioning our government.

power acquisition and doing zero in the interests of the American people.

Regulation, not forgetting the people who fought and died for their freedoms, and the Constitution and putting America's interests first and foremost.

What? If the Dems voted WITH HER, Johnson would be out of his job....

All of MAGA-world, including Trump who said the resolution should be tabled, should thank Jeffries for voting with the majority of Repubs to do just that...

not to mention, there wasn't any insurrection.

ROFL.. You better read her resolution...she said he's a traitor to the MAGA-cause...

Doubt it very much.

I disagree, no matter what, she just didn't have the votes, just wouldn't have helped the Dems to save Johnson, nice try though.

ROFL.. You better read her resolution

I did.

...she said he's a traitor to the MAGA-cause...

She has an opinion and we all have opinions, as an American she's supposed to have one.

Vile woman with so little in her head.

Vile woman with so little in her head.

If that were true the Dems wouldn't be trying to get her ousted from Congress.

MTG called for the vote and only 11 republicans voted for it. How does anyone think that is not insane. She said that she wanted it to be known who would vote against it, but it blew up in her face when everyone except a handful of the crazy caucus voted yes.

I don't think she was wrong, but she should have known better that removing Speaker Johnson just didn't mathematically add up. It just wasn't going to happen.

At the end of the day, Mike Johnson and Mitch McConnell have managed to neutralise Trump's influence here. Mike calls the shots, Trump doesn't.

Trump even conceded that with his Truth post:

“At some point, we may very well be, but this is not the time,” Trump said on social media.
