This one impacted a number of Chinese handset makers. The Chinese software company who made it claimed that it was created for a specific Chinese customer and never should have been deployed on phones sold anywhere else.

Plenty of "security risks" in my book.

China is not helping by passing the law obliging Chinese companies to cooperate with the government - essentially making it illegal for Chinese companies to say no to the government

So blame China

"You can't make yourself more excellent by blocking competitors from the playing field," he said.

But isn't that what China has been doing? No Amazon, no Google, limiting foreign films and media, etc.

The US and others are not going to show "proof" and thereby disclose their intelligence methods and sources. The company's connection to the Chinese PLA has been known for years. Huawei is toast.
