You almost want to believe him with the last comment about feeding the employees.

"I love my country, I support the Communist Party. But I will not do anything to harm the world,"

Supports Communist Party and owns a company. o_O?

His words are something that "no one" in the entire world would believe.., if they knew China's system. No company can "exists" and "flourish" without Chinese government and Communist party involvement.

If they did believe, then, it is just as foolish to be fooled.

So is Ren Zhengfei claiming that Huawei is operating in violation of the China's National Intelligence Law passed in 2017 that says organisations must "support, co-operate with and collaborate in national intelligence work"?

Every crook proclaims their innocence even from prison. Until the trial there's not enough facts to really say what's going on.

The denials and insistences from Huawei's founder Ren Zhengfei's have little meaning or bearing when weighted /summed up against the Government of China new Intelligence Laws.

Ren Zhengfei is haedly about to admit or announce espionage, wholesale copyright, intellectual property fraud or products or network backdoor spying technology

Ren Zhengfei history and the nature of these laws, plus a dictatorship/regime that has little respect for human rights or any democratic mandate, why would any foreign government or business take the risk?

Article 11: National intelligence work institutions shall lawfully collect and process relevant intelligences on foreign bodies, organizations and individuals engaged in, or inciting or assisting others to engage in, or domestic bodies, organizations and individuals who collude with foreign bodies, organizations or individuals to engage in harm to the national security and interests of the People’s Republic of China, in order to provide intelligence as a reference and basis and reference for preventing, curbing and punishing the above acts.

Article 12: National intelligence work institutions may, according to relevant state regulations, establish cooperative relationships with relevant individuals and organizations, and commission them to carry out related work.

Article 14: National intelligence work institutions, when carrying out intelligence work according to laws, may ask relevant institutions, organizations and citizens to provide necessary support, assistance and cooperation.

"I love my country, I support the Communist Party. But I will not do anything to harm the world,"

Mutually exclusive.

"I don't see a close connection between my personal political beliefs and the businesses of Huawei."

Don't worry. We do.

You don't get rich in China unless you tow the ideals and follow the rules of the CCP. So yeah, this guy is totally lying his butt off. They only let him say that because it's how the CCP thinks that everyone else in the world can easily believe whatever they dream up to say that benefits their regime.

This man is a COMMUNIST. How can anyone trust what he says. All Huawei cellphones have hidden technology that captures and monitors every conversation and text, and is analyzed by the Communist party, then used for blackmail, phishing Scam etc. Fact. They should be banned in all democracies.

Yeah! Like anyone is going to admit that.

The thief won't confess I broke into the home and steal the goods unless he was caught red-handed.

Then authorities revisited the little-known case of Canadian Robert Lloyd Schellenberg, who was sentenced to 15 years in prison in November for drug offenses.

Robert has appealed his 15 years sentence and he was sentenced to death by retrial. If he didn't appeal his 15 years sentence and then he will be freed after he served 15 years in Chinese prison.

Three Australian drug smugglers were also sentenced to death by appeal court after they have appealed their sentence. You better not to appeal your sentence in some country because the appeal court can send you to the hell.

Thinking as a consumer why should we care whether Huawei has CCP’s backing. As long as it provides good products and services, who cares? If you have nothing to hide and obey the laws, there is no harm done. Lets it be spy, it’s not safe on any wire anyway. It would be harmful if we start targeting foreign companies based solely on politics and anti-competition. Why don’t we just let the consumers decide?

As long as it provides good products and services, who cares?

We all should care, since Huawei phones have bugs that transmit all conversations and text back to communist china. Terrible products and service. I predict Huawei will be banned from trading in democracies within 6 months.
