Big cities, tall buildings, apartment living. No thank you. You can have it. Don't even think of forcing that down my throat with your urban planner calls for "density".

Reminds me of the Grenfell Tower fire in London. Haven't they learned the lesson that cheap cladding can go up in a sheet of flame?

Twice I have invested in apartments, and twice I've pulled out. Someone in one of the apartments above, below or beside you can burn you out, or you could be responsible for setting others' places alight.

Now I'm with Desert above.

When we visit Shanghai we stay with our family there in high rise apartments. Shanghai is stinking hot in the summer and the Chinese have not apparently learned the lesson to keep doors to fire escapes closed. I see them propped open with bricks or whathaveyou all the time. In a fire those open doors turn the fire escape into a flaming chimney that spreads the fire from floor to floor. I have on occasion removed the brick and closed the door only to see it open the next time I passed by.
