Done, and done.

Don't let the door hit you, etc... etc...

I think that, given the absence of proof of criminality, recall would have been superior to impeachment. However, the 59-0 vote and the absence of defense for him among the electorate in Illinois suggests that recall would simply have been a somewhat longer process with the same result.

Like I said, just his name was enough for me!

SezWho2,

Illinos does not have a direct democracy, where voters can make and repeal laws, as well as recall elected officials. The Illinois legislature took this issue up in April last year, with the House passing a bill, but running into trouble in the Senate. Only 24 states have the ability to recall elected officials.

Democrat or not, it's heartening to see this guys turfed from office.

No votes of support. Good riddance.

John "Silky Pony" Edwards still defends Blago.

Guilty.

Positively Rovian, isn't it -

"If you're impeaching me," Blagojevich told lawmakers," ... let's demand that President Obama fire Rahm Emanuel, because Rahm Emanuel is the one who gave me this idea."

Has Obama offered Blago a Cabinet position yet?

I actually hate to see this guy go. He was quite entertaining.

Another Chicago politician headed for jail. Oh wait, where's Obama from? Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain! One thing's for sure. Blagojevich has reverse male pattern baldness.

I liked the guys hair. I also admired him for standing up for himself. There really was no proof that this guy did anything wrong.

Obama was one of the top strategists for Blago 2002. I am suspecting that the Federal case will be dropped due to political concerns -but I hope it is not.

If Illinois is the model expect more deficit spending (and corruption). Obama was still the better choice between Hilliary (more corrupt and a liar) and no-change McCain. =At least we got the best of the worst.

ilcub76,

Yes, that's true. In Illinois recall would have been impossible. But what does that have to do with recall being preferable?

Impeachment is a Democrat Party pastime.

I wonder if Blago would cop a plea bargain and start dishing out dirt during his criminal trial. IT'll be fun watching many others get caught in this scandal in the long run.

B-B-Bye-bye Blagojevich. < :-)

This guy will make a ton of cash on the book deal which undoubtably will contain some very salicious details of Illinois politics. Just looking at the guy, I can tell this ain't over yet.
