A new brain trust in place,

Ha ahaa haaa haaa haaa haah ahaa ha ha aaha hahaa ha haaah ahaaaah hhha haa.

Ahhhhh, my.

16 ( +21 / -5 )

I would really like to hear someones reasons why they prefer Clinton without mentioning Trump.

Did you not read the response by Black Sabbath you got to this question last time you asked it? I guess not. Here it is:

I will. But first, I think its is important to point out that because she is not Donald Trump is reason enough to vote for her. Ignoring all the intricate domestic political squabbling, Trump would be a foreign policy disaster. No one who cares about US prestige and avoiding wars the restructure the international system, wars like the Napoleonic Wars, or WWII can allow that man near the US presidency. He is too ignorant and too erratic. Too much human life and misery is on the line.

I repeat: She is not Donald Trump. And we Americans have a choice between those two. One and only one of those two will be president. Nothing will change that. A protest vote for a third party candidate only matters in how it affect whether CLinton or Trump wins.

And Trump cannot win. Too much is at stake. They always say that, and this time its true.

So, really, one doesn't need a better reason to vote for HRC. And for those people who hate HRC so much that they are willing to allow that man to seize control of the US presidency, well, I have nothing to say to them other than they are terrible people.

IOW, ignoring the insane rhetoric against her, the worst thing that can be said of HRC is she is well within the status quo on economic issues and America's military role in the world. Depending on your perspective, she is too liberal on social issues, but from where I stand, she is a moderate, left of center centrist. When you look at the issues, the Democrats are mainstream, and the Republicans are extreme.

Most Americans support gay rights, access to abortion, increased health care for all, increased taxes on the rich, expanding social security and medicare, equal pay for women, increasing gun control, and keeping garbage being taught to our kids in science classes.

Those are mainstream Democratic positions. HRC supports all those. She's even championed more than a few.

That is the reason to vote for her.

The worse thing I can say about HRC is she is not a good campaigner, she's too much the technocrat, and IMO she is not enough of a Liberal Democrat. A good example of this caution is how she dragged her feat on equality for gays at a critical moment back in the mid oughts. I understand why she did that, but that is really the thing: I'd like my leaders to lead.

On the bright side, she and BIll know how to deal with the all the Washington b.s. and will get things done.

And stadiums are packed at every rally. While Clinton take 50% of the time off!..

And she's still ahead in the polls, and will likely take the presidency.

That's gotta grate.

Lizz: Right now in NC he is disciplined and on TelePrompTer again, appealing strongly to inner city and low income parents whose kids have been let down by failing schools and Dem policies, hope they are listening. This is going to be a major theme.

A young Hillary Clinton posed as a mother and went to a school that was rumored to not allow black children. She collected information on the school, including statements where the management assured her that no black kids would be going there. That was one of her first jobs, exposing racism. You don't hear about it because she doesn't talk about it much.

At the same time, Trump's real estate offices used to write "C" on the applications of black people. You know, coloreds. That was written down to make sure the applications were denied.

It's disgusting listening to Republicans lecture black people on the "right choice" of voting for Trump or the GOP sometimes.

10 ( +12 / -2 )

It's amazing how the true believers cling to their wishful thinking, even after Trump repeatedly dashes their hopes every time he opens his mouth in front of a TV camera.

9 ( +11 / -2 )

The only "battleground" is in Trump's brain.

9 ( +11 / -2 )

He's not sorry at all! He's only sorry he's way behind in the polls, the popular vote and simply on a path to not just losing the election, but burying the entire Republican party. So he is now showing he is desperate by saying he is "sorry".

This guy has twisted so many stories so many times it is no wonder he can't tell fiction from reality.

9 ( +11 / -2 )

Trump expresses regret with a smirk? And America is supposed to buy this? His arrogance is infinite.

Trump pledged to “always tell you the truth.”

No, Drumpf. No you won't. Because you lie more often than any politician I have ever listened to in my 64 years of life. You're a walking disaster and a total joke.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

Clinton has already won, there's really no point continuing this farce. Trump's best move from here would be to pocket all the fundraising cash as a bonus for his great performances over the past year, pull out of the race and go on vacation. Repubs have such astonishingly poor and selective memory they likely would have all forgotten his betrayal within a few days

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Wooo hoooo hoooo haaa haaa haa ha ha ha haa/

[cough]

Ok. Breath. Ha ha ha. Right.

'Brain trust'

Bannon: A peddler of conspiracy theories who has never run a campaign of any kind -- that includes for Brownie Leader -- for his campaign "CEO" a new position Trump just created!

And Conway a "a measured, data-driven analyst who might be able to broaden Trump's appeal to women and independent voters."

First, oversell. Anyway, she can be 'measured' and "data-driven" till the second coming of Christ. It won't make one bit of difference. Because Trump is not measured and doesn't understand data. He's gonna throw more conspiracy and anger red meat to his bully boys and that is all there is too it.

You know it. I know it. They know.

That is why they are 'unskewing' the polls.

7 ( +11 / -4 )

And stadiums are packed at every rally.

Old people and rednecks have a lot of free time.

I would really like to hear someones reasons why they prefer Clinton without mentioning Trump.

You kind of have to mention him. If Clinton was running against Kim Kardashian, I'm sure even you would vote for Clinton to prevent that disaster. He's making a mockery of the Presidency.

Also Clinton has the support of my first choice, Bernie Sanders. If a person with his level integrity says he can work with her, she can't be all that bad.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

"Right now in NC he is disciplined and on TelePrompTer again"

Donald watches the swinging pocket watch "Must not talk trash...must not talk trash"

7 ( +10 / -3 )

SF2K : That's the only way to save the USA. Obliterate the Republicans. Turn them into raving loonies.

Turn them?? Heh, they've been that way for years. Trump simply got them all out of the closet. His base now own the mantra of blaming others for our own predicaments, a monopoly once held by the radical left.

The Meltdown continues....

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Just read this morning that his newest advisor, a long list of them, is a holocaust denier "the ovens were too small". With this kind of people, I don't think if he had a BILLION dollars for ads that he would win--money can not buy loyalty, or people's common sense.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

“Sometimes in the heat of debate and speaking on a multitude of issues, you don’t choose the right words or you say the wrong thing. I have done that,”

Sometimes people do that alright. But not people who are presidential material. I think he has just admitted that he doesn't have what it takes to be president.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

One thing I have learned about big business, when they bring in the new management to "shake things up, put us back on top"...that's code for "we have no fricken' clue what we are doing and the ship is sinking".

Bringing in new movers and shakers at this late stage shows us that Trumps own people are trying to "control" his mouth but they know they are not succeeding. Now with the new guy who's never run a campaign for political office and a new bean counter they are going to try and invent a new Donald and they are writing new scripts for him but we all know that it won't last and his brain will sneak in and tell him that he's smarter than all of them. And off we go to La-La land again.

And as for the "prove to me Clinton is better than Trump without mentioning Trump": She has a history in politics, she knows how the game is played (and yes it is a game, a game with high stakes and big losers). She won't open her mouth and insert foot with other world leaders just to look like she's the funniest human in the room, no because she is a professional. She knows when to not step over the line in dealing politics. She knows how not to piss off other world leaders. She knows that all people count, not just the ones who have the deepest pockets (so that she can make lots of money after her 4 years). She knows that Nuclear Weapons should only be held by the Countries that WON'T use them. She won't pass off most of her day to day Presidential job to her Vice President due to the fact that she just doesn't want to do the boring stuff, she wants to handle it all the shiny stuff and the dull too. The #1 and the biggest thing is she is not a wanna-be, she is a true politician that takes the job of President of the United States seriously and doesn't see it as a way to get richer.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

I would really like to hear someones reasons why they prefer Clinton without mentioning Trump. I would really like to hear someones reasons why they prefer Trump without mentioning hateful racist discriminating comments about other races, minority groups.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

A non-issue, if that were true, then there would be complete SILENCE in the media about it

No, it was an issue worth investigating. But the investigation showed it to be a non-issue.

But being a non-issue has not let Republicans in recent years to stop beating dead horses. It just makes them beat the dead horse harder.

I think they are blaming the current president.

Exactly - they are blaming the current president for the credit card bill racked up by the last president.

If the Republicans can accurately be accused of anything, it's a lack of fiscal responsibility. The records of the last few Republican presidents prove that.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Right now in NC he is disciplined and on TelePrompTer

Interesting how GOPers are now urging Trump to use a teleprompter (to stay 'on message' and be 'disciplined') when for years these people derided Obama for using one, even when he didn't.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

she can't, she is being plagued by her constant email

The Republicans pick a non-issue and harp on it until the end of all time, then try to claim that she's not to be trusted since they keep harping on her about the non-issue.

This is as ironic as when the Republicans blame Obama for the credit card bills of Bush.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

I will not rest until children of every color in this country are fully included in the American Dream.

Priceless. His compassion just oozes. I suppose he'll do so by repealing the inheritance tax, cutting the top rate to 25%, and increasing military spending. After all, that is the GOP answer to every question, no matter which candidate.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Trump has told so many lies in the past, that's the problem, not so much that he's "hurt" people. The fact that he has offended people is simply a reflection of who he is - an ignorant, egotistical, racist bigot who cannot help but demonstrate it.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Stranger

That Black Sabbath character seems to have made a pretty good argument!

4 ( +6 / -2 )

He's losing, so he has to change his tact and finally offered an apology

4 ( +5 / -1 )

If you STILL support Trump there's no point in explaining. You must so ruined as a human being that there'd be no end to explaining how and why

Also he's being sarcastic, can't you tell?

They're in full meltdown mode. They're going to trash what's left of the Republican brand to hopefully destroy their choke hold on the senate and house. That's the only way to save the USA. Obliterate the Republicans. Turn them into raving loonies. If that works, Clinton can actually pass laws that the USA needs. Maybe

JefferyDomer wrote:

"Polls mean nothing at this point, considering that alot of those people who would prefer Clinton probably won`t even go to the poles. While Trumps supporters will definately be voting, with friends!

I would really like to hear someones reasons why they prefer Clinton without mentioning Trump."

I will reply coldly, as I do not respect Jeffrey's opinions whatsoever, but on topic..

Polls have historically by this point in the election been very accurate, barring large and unforeseen problems (and those usually only for an incumbent running for a second term). We are looking at a very wide gap indeed, and certainly dislike for Trump is as strong as the large percentage of Romney voters who might have voted Trump in sad resignation. Romney lost by a large margin (Obama having the biggest margin since Eisenhower, as I recall), and neither he nor any of the other former Republican Presidents has made any move to support, and some that clearly oppose, Trump.

I myself voted for Bernie Sanders as a candidate, but I've followed Ms. Clinton's entire career. Her faults are those of having been, in the past certainly, far too cozy with the same people who are funding the Republican Party, while her strengths are that she has a basic decency that has shown even when she's played the role of the "consummate politician" - which is not a compliment.

She is also tougher than any other politician in America today, with a sense of what the basis of America is, and the determination to move it towards its goals or peace, justice, equality, compassion. She's do better (from my extreme outsider's POV) to listen less to those professing realpolitik to cover their self-interests and obsessions.

The Noise Machine of Fox, etc., has lied about her for nearly thirty years now. She's been accused, like the President, of every possible crime and perversion, and she's still standing and turning their attacks aside, now almost effortlessly since they are just repeating themselves without making any real effort or putting any energy into it.. Even the Trump people here don't really believe 99% of the garbage they repeat forever here - their only real objection is "She's an accomplished and successful politician!"

Such disingenuous nonsense would be laughable, were it not so ugly..

I'll be voting (soon) for Hillary Clinton, and she will win. She has reasonable economic plans that actual economists respect, though they may be a little TOO modest for my own taste. She will work to correct the troubles over immigration, and likely succeed, since the Republican Party (minus the insane Tea Partyers) knows they are doomed if they continue on the "white separatist" path Trump has put them firmly on. Even her basic foreign policy looks strong, though her belief in the efficacy of military force is a big concern. Still, she won't be stupid enough to repeat the mistake of the Republicans,

The polls likely reflect the endpoint of this election, though the debates may swing it even further. Whether Trump attends them or not.

Finally, it may well be that it is Trump voters who stay home in fairly large numbers. Especially if they take to their flinty, tiny hearts the claim that it's all "rigged." Trump is the most perfect personification ever of a candidate for his voters (more even than LaRouche or Ron Paul), they are lazy, prone to rages, and unable to bear being beaten (and many VERY unsavory qualities that are not directly connected to voting).

If the polls at the end of October say Donald is going to lose big, I would not be surprised if many simply stay home to rage, or watch TV anyway.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

I like Hillary. She reminds me of my mother. Her policies are sensible, and she will squash you like a cockroach if you get in her way. Just like a president should be.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

That Black Sabbath character seems to have made a pretty good argument!

I thought so. Which is why I've reposted it in response to his question twice now!

3 ( +5 / -2 )

I think one other thing that qualifies Hillary beyond any other candidate ever, is that she spent eight years married to a president. She was right there for eight years, and not in a position of advisor or associate, but as a wife. There is no closer relationship than that, and his comments to her at that time were likely not filtered through a political lens like the would be to some degree with pretty much every other person out there. She knows exactly what it's like to be president, not just what she thinks it's like.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Check out this OMG moment from a prominent Trump supporter in Denial:

http://edition.cnn.com/2016/08/17/politics/donald-trump-michael-cohen-polls/index.html

The news anchor is clearly gobsmacked at the poor man's delusions.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

hillary "has a basic decency" ? She giggled and took pride in her role in qaddafi's death.

Ahh another non-issue dead horse being beaten by the Republicans.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Strangerland, I understand what youre saying, I just cant comprehend how you can actually believe it.

If you don't think that the first-hand view provided through being the spouse of an active president would give more insight into the position than any other viewpoint - with the exception of actually being president - you're kidding yourself.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Well, lets see who agrees with strangerland on this.

Ok, then answer these two questions:

1) Which position(s) are likely to have a better perspective of being president?

2) How does being the spouse of a president not give one a first-hand insight into being president?

3 ( +5 / -2 )

According to your logic every first lady should run Bush dynasty? And how about the logic of a racist businessman who is extremely poor at business himself being chosen to run for president- what were Republican voters thinking choosing that clown? Trump was the best thing Republicans could choose? Why was Trump such an attractive choice to be nominated? Sound off Trump fans!!!

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Oh strangerland, being bill clintons wife qualifies hillary to be president "beyond any candidate ever" ?? Oh boy. Trump being a billionaire who made his wealth at the expense of many small investors, bankrupting numerous companies in the process. One of his most memorable quotes, "Society could collapse tomorrow, I wouldnt care I wont lose a cent" If that's the type of morals and mentality of a future POTUS then I really do pitty the poor Americans that may suffer his rule!

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Trump regrets his past comments: insincerely and because he thinks it will give him a political advantage.

Quick word of advice- when you want to genuinely show you regret something, you A) say what specifically it is you regret, B) say specifically why it was wrong, C) say what specifically you will do to ensure it doesn't happen again, and D) say it specifically to the person you wronged.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

JeffreyDomer: "I would really like to hear someones reasons why they prefer Clinton without mentioning Trump."

You're asking for people to talk about why they prefer someone to another, without mentioning the other. It's a ludicrous request to begin with. It's like asking, "Why do you prefer coffee to tea -- and don't mention tea at all, please, when talking about the preferences."

2 ( +6 / -4 )

The lack of anything to back up your assertion whatsoever shows that it makes more sense than you want to admit.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

After Trumps term its Ivanka's turn Does she have your vote over Hillary?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

I doubt she learned much about statesmanship at the same time as she seemed unwilling to set aside personal, financial interests as Secretary of State.

Unwilling? You do realize she resigned from the board of the Clinton Foundation when she became secretary of state, right? You don't think that's setting aside personal and financial interests?

Texas...: "Polls taken in August mean nothing. ”

Keep grasping at those straws! First, may I point out that neither the Republicans in 1988 or the Democrats in 2008 were more than "concerned" about the polls then, while the Republican Party right now is in utter chaos, fearing a sweep even of the gerrymandered House.

Actually, the polls I can find have a Dukakis lead until July, when Lee Atwater ran the racist "Willie Horton" ads and successfully floated lies about Kitty burning a flag and Michael having received treatment for a mental illness. Of course, The elder Bush also did well in the debates, and by September had a lead he never relinquished.

The 2008 polls I've checked (Wiki) say you are mistaken there. McCain only polled slightly ahead (5%) in two August polls - Zogby and Gallup (both very among the least accurate polls of that year). After that, and in every other poll before as well, Obama led. So your simply wrong there (but welcome to catch me out for an apology if you can show I'm mistaken!)

Now, THIS set of polls?

HIllary has been under this sort of fire, withstanding every sort of lie, half-lie, and utterly disgusting rumor ("She's a lesbian!" "That's not Bill's daughter, because he's sterile! He had mumps!" are two captured just TODAY at a Trump rally) for about thirty years now.

And she's still standing tall, while many Republicans have cowered when facing her.

Even better, now the media will have to let her speak directly about what she believes and present herself for what she is - not the lies that Fox News or Breitbart or Drudge present hourly. When the public that is not insane (up to 77% of voters) see her for what she is, they'll see an intelligent and well-spoken woman with experience in leadership and a sense of what makes America great. (you needn't concur - I expect nothing from anyone still willing to vote Republican. Trump will show them what he is, and only very unhappy and/or dishonest people will choose such a deceitful, ugly, incompetent man over her.

I await the debates eagerly. Trump, even if hypnotized and sedated, will look like a tongue-tied orangutan next to her. If he even dares to show up.

If we can get the kids to the polls, we may see America turn the corner in overcoming the Republican plague of the 21st Century.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

It all went to shite when the Khan family chewed him to shreds, Trump said there would be no more holding back. Dems played him to perfection knowing hed spew another truck load of hate and fear, digging his own hole that little bit deeper, a hole that looks like it'll be the Trump campaign graveyard. LOL

1 ( +1 / -0 )

I can't wait until Clinton and Trump have a debate... if Trump even shows up. He'd better, because I'd find him very entertaining on such a stage!

Both of them are soo old though >,<... One term candidates the both of them.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

let alone a person to trust with our National security given This is one of the things Trump regrets saying. Of course Clinton can be trusted with secrets. It shows that Clinton can be 100% trusted with secrets. Trump now concurs that Clinton can be trusted with secrets.

But once Trump says he regrets saying Obama was born in Kenya and all Mexicans are bad - bye bye white Bundy/KKK/etc. voters (his base).

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Outrider- Are you defending Qaddafi?

Do you have any notion of the Republican stance on Libya, or Qaddafi? Or Trump's shifting position - words w/o any thought at all?

What's Trump's plan for dealing with Daesh, etc,? Do you even know?

Do you recall what happened in Iraq to the equally horrid Saddam?

How about the aimless mess of a morass in Afghanistan left for President Obama?

Trump has been loud and clear about increased use of torture. Is that not more barbaric than one comment by Ms. Clinton? He's repeatedly suggested the war crime of collective punishment for family members linked to terrorists (which the law-abiding - and human - in the US military would be forced to disobey). Do you accept that?

Your comment here says you would because "ANYBODY has my vote over hillary."

Trump very much represent his fans.

Me? I'm more than aware of Hillary Clinton's past, and her deficiencies. And I have stated them honestly in my endorsement of her. Not only do I find her the better candidate, w/o the least bit of doubt, but with the potential to be pretty great. Especially if she doesn't seek some false "middle ground" with the insane, vicious, incompetent, lazy, utterly dishonest and often outright evil Republican Party of today.

Roger Ailes, Sean Hannity, and Steve Bannon.... when Trump loses.... those three and Donald will start a new news Network..... Trump News. They'll feed their new ultra right followers with bigotry, racism and lies..... and the hole time they'll sell them guns, gold, and cabins in the mountains. They don't give a damn about anything other than fleecing as many people as possible. I checked Go Daddy... TrumpNews.com is gone.... so it TrumpNewtork.com. Taken and being readied for the flock.

Strangerland: "How does being the spouse of a president not give one a first hand insight into being president?"

Yes, agree in part. But, in what aspects of the presidency? I doubt if Mamie Eisenhower eavesdropped on Ike's conversations during the Suez Crisis and I further doubt that they discussed it in detail. That was Mamie and Ike, not Hillary and Bill - or, if you prefer, Bill and Hillary.

I would guess that Hillary picked up an extraordinary amount as First Lady. She certainly has proven herself to be an intelligent person. She undoubtedly sharpened her political skills after smarting from her first "assignment" with revising health care in the US.

So, yes, her experience was important, but I doubt she learned much about statesmanship at the same time as she seemed unwilling to set aside personal, financial interests as Secretary of State. Note her recent statement that the Clinton Foundation will not accept foreign donations AFTER the election. Is it because too many people have caught on to possible conflicts of interest?

Gee... The Donald AND Hillary saying they are sorry on the same day...

Trump just mentioned. He decided to talk with CNBC's Rachel Meadow and on Sunday, he will speak with HillRy. Let's listen and we can find how he will be.

Lizz- "Trump realized that he needed to give a serious speech in Milwaukee two days after the events there but the positive response to it seems to have given the campaign more than it could have imagined, a clear path forward and gotten him firing on all cylinders (in a good way)."

He gave a ridiculous speech about African-Americans being lawless and rioters to a bunch of white people.

A nice summation of it from a non-Trump voter's POV:

"Mr Trump spoke for 75 minutes. But what he said at the outset was the core message. That was about growing fear of violence and his unique ability to end it. He claimed America is in crisis, communities in chaos, with attacks on police and terrorism in the cities that threaten America’s way of life. He cherrypicked crime statistics, not mentioning that crime in the US, including murder, is in historic decline, as it is in most democracies. He talked about death and violence, while promising to defend the right to bear the guns that inflict much of it. He said, extraordinarily but characteristically, that violence would end and safety would be restored overnight by the mere act of electing him. Anyone who wanted detail about how he would achieve this instant pacification of America would have been disappointed. But there is never any detail. Mr Trump’s campaign is about him, nothing more.

If there was one especially foul passage, it was the way Mr Trump then laid the blame for his crime wave at the door of illegal immigrants. The elision was deliberate. There were more of them than ever. They were roaming free to threaten peaceful citizens. He told the story of the killing of Sarah Root by an illegal immigrant and then charged that the Obama administration considered her “just one more American life that wasn’t worth protecting; one more child to sacrifice on the altar of open borders”. Plenty of politicians have run as law and order candidates, as Mr Trump said he is doing. But it is hard to think of any other senior politician in any democracy in the modern world who would stoop as low as that."

It's dog-whistles that are deep enough for even us ordinary humans to hear.

How awful to think well of such a speech!

The facts are that in every election in every country, some form of personal attacks are used to discredit the opponent. It was used against every individual by every person that were in the primaries. It is still going on with the worst ones coming from the very party he represents. The point is, the primaries are over and the process has concluded to the actual election.

Probably the most manly thing was done by Rubio who openly apologized for what he said about Trump. None of the others has. The key is to be able to shake hands and work together once the election process is over.

Trump still in the election process may not have had to apologize for anything... it is still not over. But, once over, it will be a gentlemanly thing to do.

For the public to demand and expect at this stage is very premature in an election.

I thought this was an internet frame-up. It's ben proven real - from a Trump herself.

What's wrong with this picture?

My answer? Everything?

And people here claim they want this man to be President.

i have to say Im not really a fan of Clinton and even more so Trump, but in the likely outcome that Clinton becomes POTUS, the butthurt from the Trump supporters will be deafening. Im actually looking forward to the screams of defeat of Trump supporters much more so than Clinton actually becoming POTUS. As comedian Jim Jefferies stated if your a Trump supporter and say "I like him because he's a straight talker" your as dumb as sh**te. LOL

Madverts: That was pretty funny! The denier almost looked like he was going to cry when he pouted and said, "Who?" The best is how they suddenly "don't care about the polls" and then try and quote the Examiner poll or Rasmussen or something despite, them too showing Trump behind.

Even his "billions" will not erase the memory of the innumerable (I am at a loss for an adjective that fits) comments this total !@#$% has made.

Good luck, Mr. Bannon. However, I have heard... (Edited out by me there apparently was something that might "possibly cause offense") ...on the "issues" of "Love trumps hate" and "Anyone but Trump". Sorry, Mr. Bannon. Go Hillary!

Yes but over and over and over again.

"“I will not rest until children of every color in this country are fully included in the American Dream,” he said."

Still using this outdated term that just screams "Hey I'm a latently bigoted White guy". Does he say that we've had a "Colored President" for 8 years?

More from Trump on Manafort...

"This morning Paul Manafort offered, and I accepted, his resignation from the campaign," Mr Trump said in a statement. "I am very appreciative for his great work in helping to get us where we are today, and in particular his work guiding us through the delegate and convention process."

Trump was probably being sarcastic. But then again, not that sarcastic. Or was he? We just won't know, will we?

“And believe it or not, I regret it, particularly where it may have caused personal pain.”

To whom?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Thanks for the non-apology, Mr. Trump! Of course he "regrets" saying what he said, and he "regrets" the personal pain that it caused.... himself.

I "regret" selling Apple stock in 1995. I "regret" buying Softbank stock in 1999. I "regret" not making more of an effort at learning the piano in my misspent youth. I regret a lot of things.

I think people wanted to hear Donald Trump really admit that he was wrong and that he is sorry for saying the terrible things he said. Contrition, not regret. I know that is what I could respect. Unfortunately, Donald Trump has couched his non-apology in weasel words that give him leeway to insist later that he was just pandering to the PC crowd, and that he really does not ridicule people with disabilities, mothers with small children, and families of deceased veterans.

Does anybody have a friend or acquaintance who does things like that? Of course not. Trump is a special guy. And no, he has not apologized. He is just bummed that people are shunning him at parties, so he wanted to see if he can say something to make his sycophants feel a little better. He did. I am not impressed. I have seen better apologies from six year olds.

I laugh at the number of people that believe Benghazi was all of Hillary's fault.... People that have not clue about how difficult it is to both increase and decrease personnel and especially security personnel and any given U.S. Location around they world. People need to be housed and fed sometimes.... they sometimes do not have the option of letting the board locally. You just can't say.... give us more security unless a definite threat has been confirmed. Then there is the argument of what was told to the American public directly after the incident..... are you kidding....? The police often do not give the full story of a crime.... do you know why? If you don't then don't question why the Govt did not give the exact story of what happened. On to Hillary's emails..... prior people in that position did not use the Govt email servers too. Just because they didn't and she didn't does not make it right.... and she should have known better. That was a foolish mistake and arrogant.... but not a good enough argument for me to pick Donald Trump over her. Bill Clinton did an excellent job as president..... he'll be there with her. Sure he made mistakes but fiscally.... when the extra money was pouring into govt coffers... he didn't spend it like many would think a Democrat would.

Actually, our buying into China goes as far back as Kissinger and the Nixon administration. We rather foolishly with hindsight believed that "Communist China" wanted to be like us and the rest of he free world. That helping raise China's standard of living would create a middle class and that would cause the CCP to adopt of liberal policies and move towards democracy. Boy did we get taken. Letting China join the WTO was part of that movement, But Bill Clinton did send two carrier groups to Taiwan when China was lobbing missles to influence the Taiwanese elections in 1996, I think there are few if any people at least with half a brain that recognizes that China's "peaful rise" was a sham..

. the downing of a US spy plane by CHINA,

I seem to remember George Bush being President when that happened.

In a first, Trump says he regrets painful comments

Or maybe he's just being sarcastic.

Anyways, I bet he can't go three days without insulting someone.

HRC resigned from the board of the Clinton Foundation.

Thanks for agreeing that this comment was therefore incorrect:

I doubt she learned much about statesmanship at the same time as she seemed unwilling to set aside personal, financial interests as Secretary of State.

I noticed that you have made no comment on Bill Clinton's announcement that foreign donations to the Clinton Foundation will no longer be accepted IF Hillary wins the election.

Which is the right thing to do.

Trumps poll numbers in Texas is already just ahead of Hillary's.

This shows just how bad he is - the Republican nominee should be destroying the democratic nominee in Texas. It's about the reddest of the red states. And yet, he's 'just ahead'. If Trump can't have a commanding lead in Texas, then how can he hope to get any lead in other states?

The conniving & intricate way in which they had donors from foreign countries donate millions into their so called "Foundation" when she was Secretary of State in exchange for "FAVORS"

No evidence of this ever happening, and yet, the Republicans keep bleating it out like sheep. Zombie lies never die!

Donald Trump is not doing this for more $$$'$. He could be relaxing and enjoying life to the fullest WITHOUT the 95% biased Media. He & his entire family have sacrificed their lives and safety by doing this.

Same with Hillary. The Clintons are loaded. She could retire and never work another second for the rest of her life, burning $100 bills for warmth, and still not make a dent in her fortune.

Who knows if the same could be said about Trump - he won't release his tax returns.

Hillary Clinton and her so called "name only husband" are Both Liars and Cheaters. The conniving & intricate way in which they ...

How about this for "conniving and intricate":

He regrets 'some of what he's said'? Does that count as an apology? It does not and anyway it is too little too late. The damage has permeated the core of his platform. This man is totally unfit to lead a nation. America deserves better.

It's a bit of a strange picture, but I don't see anything with it that would make me think it makes the person ineligible to be president, if it were someone else (say Hillary or Obama).

You gotta be kidding.

Remember THIS was the best the Repubs could come up with. Waiting in the wings are more nutbars. Dems on the other hand have Elizabeth Warren and other strong candidates like that senator from Hawaii to replace the next single term president. Repubs had 12? or more candidates and they were all a joke. Only the King of the Joke one, and he turned out to be a real Joker

Trump realized that he needed to give a serious speech in Milwaukee two days after the events there but the positive response to it seems to have given the campaign more than it could have imagined, a clear path forward and gotten him firing on all cylinders (in a good way).

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Strangerland: HRC resigned from the board of the Clinton Foundation. Of course. It would be expected of anyone in her position. Would you have readers believe that someone, a couple in this case, who set up a "charitable" foundation that has raked in hundreds of millions - including foreign "donations" - since its establishment will actually walk away from de facto control for four years? I suppose it's a matter of trust. By the way, I noticed that you have made no comment on Bill Clinton's announcement that foreign donations to the Clinton Foundation will no longer be accepted IF Hillary wins the election. IF, IF, IF... Bill just can't bring himself to loosen his grip on such a source of wealth and influence. And, oh yes, Hillary did keep her eyes wide open while First Lady.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

When you tell the truth sometimes people's feelings get hurt. At least he apologized for that, but it doesn't change the facts of what he said.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

re: On the bright side, she and BIll know how to deal with the all the Washington b.s. and will get things done.

It was Bill yes a "CLINTON" and DEMOCRAT who made sure China was inducted into the WTO. result: problems and cheap iron and junk from China. It was the same "CLINTONS" and DEMOCRATS who pushed for NAFTA and many other yeah "FREE" trade agreements that has caused the US to lose even more in Manufacturing jobs like steel, precious metals, cars etc...Hillary too was a part in this. The giving away of the HIGH TECH jobs and its infrastructure now made in other parts of the world, yeah call a simple customer center and you will get someone not in the US. Need I continue that both the CLINTONS ie.e the downing of a US spy plane by CHINA, the Bengahzi incident and the dirty list just goes on...no thank you...we don't NEED another CLINTON, the US just simply cannot afford it...

It's not about doing what is best for Democrats and open borders or the Clintons' but about doing what is best for the US. and clearly the Clintons or Democrats are not it.

It would be utterly Disastrous not just for the U.S. but for the entire world if she became President of the U.S..

Donald Trump is not doing this for more $$$'$. He could be relaxing and enjoying life to the fullest WITHOUT the 95% biased Media. He & his entire family have sacrificed their lives and safety by doing this.

As he so aptly said, he is giving back to the country.

In a first, Trump says he regrets painful comments

Thank you Mr. President (would be) !

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

The thing is, Trump is still going to win. People can say all they want that they "prefer" Hillary when asked, but they dont like her enough to actually go and vote for her. I dont see how it is obvious she has won when she never speaks to the American public and hides away behind all her advisers. Lets see how a debate or two go first before we crown her.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

According to your logic every first lady should run for president after hubbys term expires. Imelda Marcos would agree.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

He now trails Clinton in preference polls of most key battleground states -- article

Polls taken in August mean nothing. For example, at this point in the 1988 election cycle, democrat nominee Michael Dukakis was as much as 17 points ahead of George H.W. Bush. In August 2008, John McCain was ahead in U.S. national polls by an average of 10 points.

Despite the DNC Super Pac (aka, the MSM) continued frothing at the mouth saying Mr. Trump is "trailing in preference polls", Mrs. Bill Clinton's lead remains in the single digit range; not 17 points nor even 10 points ahead of Mr. Trump. Mrs. Clinton, who's been in the Washington political/public spotlight for more nearly a quarter century should be enjoying a double point advantage over Mr. Trump today. But in fact, she's not doing as well as Mr. Dukakis and Mr. McCain at this juncture in the 2016 general election. . . .

Trump all the way

Almostransparentblue, hillary "has a basic decency" ? She giggled and took pride in her role in qaddafi's death. And it was a particularly gruesome death. Now libya is another hellhole. and Benghazi? A person with a real sense of decency would have taken responsibility and resigned and withdrawn from what she likes to call "public service".

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

I think the very idea is ridiculous. Ditto your questions.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

its a long time till november - in politics a REALLY long time.

ANYBODY has my vote over hillary.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

Strangerland, I understand what youre saying, I just cant comprehend how you can actually believe it.

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

Well, lets see who agrees with strangerland on this.

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

A non-issue, if that were true, then there would be complete SILENCE in the media about it, even the liberal media is finally, finally paying attention to this, let's hope they stay on it.

This is as ironic as when the Republicans blame Obama for the credit card bills of Bush.

I think they are blaming the current president. Or should we go back and talk about how Clinton left with a surplus as opposed to Obama who will leave us with a deficit? Yikes!

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

Oh strangerland, being bill clintons wife qualifies hillary to be president "beyond any candidate ever" ?? Oh boy.

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

Look, we all make mistakes. Trump is not a career politician, I think some of the things he said over the past year did make me cringe a bit, but Hillary is unqualified to be president, let alone a person to trust with our National security given HER record in this, yes, yes, her loyal fans will say, she can be trusted (LOL) but reality speaking and putting the tequila down, she can't, she is being plagued by her constant emails, her slush fund....darn it! I meant, foundation, the country doesn't trust her and her health.....well, let's just say, I hope she makes her medical records public real soon. I do think she might be better off being a good grandma and taking it easy.

-11 ( +2 / -13 )

Strangerland, Hillary's performances with her emails, violating her security clearance etc, is a lot more damning of her suitability for president than trump hurting peoples feelings during a presidential campaign. she is definitely not presidential material.

-12 ( +2 / -14 )

And stadiums are packed at every rally. While Clinton take 50% of the time off!..

The vast majority of Clinton's scheduled events are fund raisers which may be acceptable now but as summer dwindles down toward Fall, and then the November election, she is going to have to show herself more than what she has been. You cannot run a campaign without coming out to meet and greet and press the flesh. Her trouble is, that the more she appears, doesn’t take questions from ‘real’ journalists or from ‘everyday folks’, whom they loathe, appears disconnected, or worse, from reality, the worse her poll numbers become.

-15 ( +3 / -18 )

Right now in NC he is disciplined and on TelePrompTer again, appealing strongly to inner city and low income parents whose kids have been let down by failing schools and Dem policies, hope they are listening. This is going to be a major theme.

-16 ( +1 / -17 )

Wow! 5 million dollars (from his own pocket) compared with 75 million Clinton fund raised money!

And stadiums are packed at every rally. While Clinton take 50% of the time off!.... I don`t think she is even scheduled to speak again until Sunday, in a small venue.

Polls mean nothing at this point, considering that alot of those people who would prefer Clinton probably won`t even go to the poles. While Trumps supporters will definately be voting, with friends!

I would really like to hear someones reasons why they prefer Clinton without mentioning Trump.
