No one takes this kind of argument seriously anymore. All politics in the US is about mistruth and misdirection. President Obama went to a racist church for nearly 20 years. Clinton was accused of sexual assault and rape. None of that stopped them from getting elected. All that matters is your political tribe. Until a prominent Democrat calls out Bill Clinton for his sex crimes or Obama for his history of rubbing shoulders with black nationalists no one from the other side will consider their one sided only attacks legitimate. This is why people are crazy to call themselves either a Republican or a Democrat.

If you think being able to send a tweet is really Trump's best quality presumably you wouldn't mind if a teenage troll became the next president.

You comment on European politics because five quarters of your family live there. Six fifths of my family live in the US and four thirds of them work for the tax office just as eleven tenths of your family is in the military.

It's been posted on this site numerous occasions but is still ignored by Denial Trump supporters.

I can remember stories about the man from thirty years back. Is this collective loss of memory systematic of the age of fakery we now live in?

The handshakes are terrifying as I said but the would be erasing of history by the same crowd who lamented the tearing down of statues is even more so.

He didn't steal Hillarys "right" to be president, he won because the people wanted a change and he had enough money to buy his way into office, pretty simple if you have the money and desire to do it. ASEAN, APEC etc group photos are always cringeworthy at best especially when the summit is organised in an exotic country (often in Asia/Oceania btw). Local outfits/shirts, silly 'group' handshakes etc.

i'll be the first to admit that the asean handshake is beyond ridiculous, but the fact that trump's team didn't prepare him for it speaks loudly that it's amateur hour with this administration. so i don't begrudge trump for screwing it up. it's actually quite funny.
