Fauci is not Trump's YES man, therefore he is not going to last long...

The article didn't include Dr. Fauci's best quote. Referring to Peter Navarro's criticisms Dr. Fauci said "When the staff lets out something like that and the entire scientific and press community push back on it, it ultimately hurts the president,"

In one succinct sentence he disemboweled Peter Navarro while simultaneously placing himself on the side of the President and the people of the US. Nicely done Dr. Fauci. My hat is off to you.

Infighting over the White House's handling of the coronovirus pandemic

Who's in charge? What happened to "I alone can fix it. I have the authority."

Or is Trump back to "I don’t take responsibility for that." He, his media, his WH PR employees and his Republican Rapid Response Team are throwing Dr. Fauci under the bus. They're also blaming Obama plus the usual 'others' including dems/libs, something they call 'the media', China (deservedly) and of course something they call the deep state.

Trump etal are deflecting, pointing blame away from themselves and the problems they are responsible for dealing with while the pandemic continues to further damage the country in every way imaginable.

But Trump's fellow 'elite' couldn't care a whit ; they've got the best healthcare possible and the financial means to continue living their posh lifestyles.

I don’t know who to believe, the doctor with decades of service to science, or the president with decades of service to self. Help me, Sean Hannity!

Mr. Peter Navarro, you had one job.

Only one job.   One.   Not two,   not three,   four is right out !

ONE is the number. A single, solitary, isolated, sole, exclusive, unique, specific, prime job. And the full power and resources to do it.

Use the National Defense Act to guarantee that there were enough masks, enough face shields, enough protective gear, enough ventilators, enough hand sanitizer, enough PPE so that no one, not one single person in this great nation ever had to reuse any safety gear during this pandemic or ever again.

One job.  And you have totally, completely, miserably and irredeemably failed.

Karma demands more – 139,174 times more and still counting.

I don’t know who to believe, the doctor with decades of service to science,

Who got so much of this wrong..

or the president with decades of service to self. Help me, Sean Hannity!

Darn with other medical points of view on this virus!

Darn with other medical points of view on this virus!

There are only other political views. Not medical views.

11 ( +11 / -0 )

What are leaders called who kill their own citizens?

Criminal despots.

How does the world treat those leaders?

Not very well.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Who got so much of this wrong..

Because there were medical experts when the pandemic first started who were 100% correct and never got anything wrong because they knew and still know everything there is to know about an unknown-at-the-time virus. Please, share with us who these medical experts are. I'll wait.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Darn with other medical points of view on this virus!

Do you mean the injecting of bleach point of view?  Or the "magically disappear" option?

11 ( +11 / -0 )

@egads man! The scientists have evolved with their scientific work from the beginning of the virus outbreak. They continue to make good progress. The politicians have digressed. Trump especially has been a cheerleader spreading outright lies and false information. He has said the Chinese Flu is a hoax. It will go away. He doesn't seem to know the difference between the flu and Covid 19. See: @SimondB per bleach injection. So right!

@bass4funk

in every one of your ‘retorts’ to logic and facts that obviously offend you, you are consistently voted way down in the negative 10s!! Can you see a pattern? Hello?!

Dump thinks he holds no responsibility for the unprecedented number of deaths in US. But he does, and he will pay. And the Republican Party, once the party of William F. Buckley, now the party of Jerry Springer, will also pay dearly for their mishandling of this disaster.

Come November.

10 ( +10 / -0 )

Literally every one of bass4funk's posts could be replaced with "I know you are, but what am I?".

Infighting over the White House's handling of the coronovirus pandemic is spilling further into public view, with trade adviser Peter Navarro panning Dr Anthony Fauci as President Donald Trump stands watch.

Navarro is one of Trump's most loyal cronies - Trump didn't have the guts to criticize Fauci directly, so he sent his rabid dog. "Pete, go diss Fauci, I'll be hiding in the bunker"...

Fauci, the nation's top infectious disease expert, called the criticism “nonsense” and “a bit bizarre.”

Very diplomatically said Dr. We're sure it's tough trying to help educate the public while you have a two-year old man-child ranting and raving about injecting disinfectant and taking blue light suppositories...

During his CBS interview, when asked about the danger of sending children back to school, Trump said; "****Because children and parents are dying from that trauma too. They're dying because they can't do what they're doing. Mothers can't go to work because all of a sudden they have to stay home and watch their child, and fathers," he said.

"They're dying because they can't do what they're doing."

Whew....Still waiting for a Trump supporter to tell us what this means...

Navarro tried to suck up to trump who threw him under the bus.

Another day in this mayhem of an administration!!!!

5 ( +5 / -0 )

"Another day in this mayhem of an administration!!!!"

But are his ratings high? That's all that matters. Right?

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Dr. Fauci about the remarks: "Ultimately, it hurts the president to do that," Dr Fauci said in an interview with The Atlantic. "It doesn't do anything but reflect poorly on them."

3 ( +3 / -0 )

I would very much expect to side with Dr Fauci, the CDC, The WHO, and the Surgeon General. They would be the side of science, reason, sobriety.

But they weren’t. You can go and check the old tweets. The science and reason crowd dropped their standards. That‘s a matter of record.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

Dr. Fauci has shown he is more of a man than trump and all of his administration put together .

He admits when he was wrong, offers solutions and comes across as an intelligent, decent person.

trump probably should stick to promoting his favorite brand of beans till November!!!

8 ( +8 / -0 )

@JohnSmith: Please show facts. How did the 'science and reason crowd' drop their standards?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Another person who thinks trumps tweets actually prove anything.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

I wouldn't take anything Navarro says seriously. He really does have no shame, criticizing the doctor when he himself claims to be an expert on China, writing several Sinophobic books when he has neither visited the country nor speaks one damn word of the language. Oh, did I mention he often quotes from "Ron Vara", like how Trump used to pretend he was called "Barron", and some other people?

And didn't  ̶R̶o̶n̶ ̶V̶a̶r̶a̶ Navarro warn of an epidemic in January and Trump chose to ignore it? Both are awfully quiet about that incident.

The words 'tongue in cheek' will come back to haunt this guy. People are dropping like flies and they both joke about this.

White House advisers bicker over virus response

That's due to a lack of leadership.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

See Sarah Cooper: How to Medical.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

The politicians act like they know more than the doctors and nobody in the White House has sense enough to listen to the doctors.

No wonder America is in trouble.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

@Strangerland - where did I mention Trump tweets?

@koujuke - do the work - go and check the old tweets

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

the doctors who told us masks dont work and arent necessary?

the doctors who told us the impact would be miniscule, not a major threat and that healthy people can go on cruises?

that the virus is not driven by asymptomatic carriers? that the falling death rate doesnt matter?

or some other doctors?

has sense enough to listen to the doctors.

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

@JohnSmith: I didn't imply it, you did. I know you are mistaken.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

@Blacklabel: The CDC said from the beginning that the masks would need to be a certain type in order to help prevent catching the virus. They said that the masks were good for those who are infected. If someone is not showing symptoms they can spread the virus, so it is reasonable to ask everyone to wear a mask to prevent the spread.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

oh did they?

https://www.marketwatch.com/story/the-cdc-says-americans-dont-have-to-wear-facemasks-because-of-coronavirus-2020-01-30

“The virus is not spreading in the general community,” Dr. Nancy Messonnier, director of the Center for the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, said in a Jan. 30 briefing. “We don’t routinely recommend the use of face masks by the public to prevent respiratory illness. And we certainly are not recommending that at this time for this new virus.”

Do you know who Nancy Messonnier is related to.....? interesting.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

@Blacklabel: I didn't know about her until now. I have only listened to Dr. Fauci. But, what if I only listened to the president and the republicans who swear he is telling the truth about the flu, er, I mean, the virus?

4 ( +4 / -0 )

She is the CDC who you mentioned. so you were listening to her as "the CDC", just didnt know her name.

So Fauci and the CDC said dont wear masks. So why would we listen to them, again?

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

The CDC has recommended since at least March what I posted earlier. It was explained to me at the time by an Internal Medicine doctor who is a friend of mine. He got his information from the CDC.

"We" is something I do not care so much about. If someone doesn't wear a mask, and they do not have a physical reason not to wear one, it means they do not care about others.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Blacklabel:. So why would we listen to them, again?

Says the man who wants to reopen the economy fully, thereby assuring us of explosive infection rates.

Who are you listening to?

6 ( +6 / -0 )

The people. Who want to go back to work and get back to their lives, see sports again and put their kids back in school.

Who are you listening to?

99.98% of people have not died from this. Only 1% of the population infected.

How many people got H1N1 in the USA? 60 million, 20 times COVID-19. 15-20% of the population.

did we do anything like this at that time?

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

@koujuke39

The scientists have evolved with their scientific work from the beginning of the virus outbreak. They continue to make good progress.

I agree with you. I think you missed my point about bass4funk always saying nonsensical things and me calling him out on it.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

@Blacklabel: I live in Japan. According to the stats available to me, just over 4% of the people who have been diagnosed with the virus have died. You might live in America, then the death rate is 3%.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

@Blacklabel

Are you saying Obama handled H1N1 better than Trump is handling COVID-19?

CDC website says about 60 million infections from April 2009 to April 2010, but it also says about 12,469 deaths for that time period. We're only 6 months into COVID? Let's check the numbers in 6 more months before we jump to conclusions.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

What has happened to the world economy because of the virus is truly sad. So many people are now without food or money to pay their rent. I contribute to a food bank in my home state. I hope things will get better and that we will soon have a vaccine to prevent the spread of the virus.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

@egads, Yes, I missed your point and I was wrong. My apologies.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

I meant @egads man!

2 ( +2 / -0 )

As long as liberals hoodwink and continue to bleed everyone's head wit false promises of better leadership concerning this virus, these people will ruin the economy to the point where the hungriest of Democrats (should they win) with their radical polices will only deepen the financial meltdown.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

Blacklabel:. The people.

Actually, a majority of the people don't support Trump's handling of the virus. Don't confuse your own beliefs with the majority.
