From the Guardian:

The drive of vax nationalism is a lose-lose strategy among all parties.

The dispute also gives China ample opportunities to promote its cheaper vax products to developing countries (now underway).

People are dying of old age and underlying causes and may happen to have a weak immune system which means Covid is the cause of death which has skewed the numbers.

Personally, I have been in mild contact with a Covid patient (in a car, dining together) without contracting the virus, using simple precautions.

I have a strong immune system, eat healthily and am not in the most at risk health range.

Being in Japan, it is difficult to get an antibody test to confirm infection but it is not an issue.

What the European countries are missing in lieu of the vaccine might be the failure for people to understand the principles of viral transmission better?

AstraZ is a two shot deal. An article here yesterday was wrong.

Love the Brits. Proud strong and smart.

At least other countries have started vaccinating. We twiddle are thumbs waiting for faxes.

This example highlights why the EU is so important to the continent - after two world wars in one century, European countries realized that their hatred for one another can only be controlled when they bind themselves together...

The EU has its problems - but nothing like another major European war...

The only country that benefits from inter-EU conflict is Russia...and one wonders how much of this is being stoked by their interference...

UK Government when the purchasing vaccine procurement was/is lightning fast out the blocks.

Signing contacts 3 months before the EU commission.

However the political ramifications, coupled with the on-going Brexit fallout has caused a poisonous push me, pull you toxicity.

China benefits far more than Russia does.

The Novavax vaccine could be the next source/bone of contention.

In other words, available vaccines now don’t solve the problem but create new ones.
