Maybe Mexico will build their own south wall and make Honduras, Guatemala, etc pay for it.

Here we go....

The real problem is not the few thousand migrants already at the border. It's the millions living in poverty who are watching and waiting to see whether they too should pack their bags and make the journey.

Surely there would be millions of American families who would be more than happy to open their homes and their hearts and take in these starving impoverished people and provide for and care for them thereby removing the responsibility for their welfare from the Government. The Americans are world renowned for their generosity and kindheartedness and this would be a good way to prove it.

@seadog538, when I see US citizens that are starving and impoverished have their living situations improved first, then I'd feel much more compelled to assist foreign nationals, and even then they have to do it through legal means, not rushing the border just because they want in. How can you take care of others when you can't even take care of yourself?

Seadog - I get what you are saying which seems to be lost on the others.

Seems they (US and Mex govts) are trying to find a way to not have catch and release inside the USA. If those seeking asylum want to be inside the USA, they will be placed into camps until their hearing in 180+ days

or

they can file the claim and return to Mexico to live with their families until their asylum hearing in relative freedom.

I'm surprised that Mexico would agree to this, and quite frankly I'm surprised it's legal if they request asylum.
