It listed New Delhi as worst in the world, just above smoke-choked Lahore in neighboring Pakistan, 400 kilometers to the northeast.
Well there are no firecrackers in play in Lahore, so why it smoke-choked, that stub burning is only reason, and this smog will go away when the stub burning goes away in few weeks time.

And that stub is burned because it is useless for any other use, and why it is useless, is due to the automated harvesting machines, which render the stub useless, this was not the case before these machines were introduced, i.e no haze just 30-40 yrs back.

All that is going on and I’m being asked to not use a gas stove?
And we have to donate 30 trillion dollars up climate change?
um, no. Let other countries do it first.

When I used to live in a country where firecrackers were banned, I used to celebrate Diwali using firearms. Beretta A400 were my favorite.

Pollution from smog and climate change from CO2 are quite different things.

This and India definitely is not the "factory of the world". Better to address this issue before ramping up industrial production if that is the plan.
