I really doubt that by hanging them every rapist in India will understand what may happen if they are convicted of rape, but with such a huge population, it may sound barbaric, but hanging everyone of these scums may be a good step in the right direction.

It angers me to see how the criminals are protected as if they were swaddling babies.

???

They were arrested, tried and convicted. There will be a sentencing process. I presume there will be an appeals process. Where in this process do you see "criminals protected as if they were swaddling babies"?

What portion of the process would you have removed? No appeals? Taken away their right to counsel? Or would you have just gone and hanged the lot without trial?

“These accused have been framed simply to please the public,” he told reporters. “This is not a fair trial.”

Hang this guy while we're at it. Of course I am against the death penalty, in all seriousness, but this is the mentality that led to what happened. What were these criminals 'framed' by? the metal rod they shoved up the woman's private parts??

Jail for life.

I agree with you Smith but actually at the same time I kind of admire the balls of the guy to have even defended them in the first place. That had to be a dangerous job. I believe several lawyers gave up the case after receiving death threats.

I'm not saying these guys are definitely innocent, merely that in high profile cases like this where there's pressure on the police to produce suspects fast the Indian police have a well documented habit of grabbing whoever is convenient.

Hang this guy while we're at it.

Justice system doesn't work unless both sides are zealously represented.
