Channel 7 and other Medias never should pay-interview with Schpelle Corby or Mercedes Corby. If they do and then peoples should turn off to Channel 7 and boycott Magazine.

And regarding her family, it is well recorded that her late father was "known to police" (to put it politely).

Her half-brother James is more than just known. He has been arrested for stealing cash and pot from a drug dealer among other things. And it just so happens that he was there when Corby was arrested and that he had also carried that same bag.

Funny thing about going to different counties: they have their own laws. And their own way of meeting out justice.

I see very little justice here even if she is guilty. A 20 year sentence for pot, even reduced to 9 years jail and probation, is not justice. And I have not seen anything to prove her guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

I have to agree with most of the comments above, but also what scruples and morals do Channel 7 lack. Anything for a story at any cost. Absolute bottom dwellers that will cross any line to keep their ratings up.

First I thought she must have been innocent or very stupid to smuggle drugs INTO Indonesia. You would think they would cost way more to buy in Australia and take overseas. Also, 4kg in a boogie board bag would make the bag feel noticeably heavier. But as mentioned above, her father was pretty dodgy and apparently the dope was specially molded to fit the shape of the board i.e. not just a bag of dope stuffed in there so it seems like it was done professionally and some say there is evidence to suggest she (and/or other family members) had done it before and got away with it. Anyway, almost 10 years in an Indonesian prison wouldn't do much good for anyone physically or mentally so I'm not surprised she's gone a bit troppo. Wonder if she can stay out of trouble until 2017 when her parole is up. Sounds like it isn't going to be easy for her and I guess she can't really go out much due to the media presence so it's kind of like 3 years of house arrest. But anything would be better than being back in prison so she'd better sort herself out with her family's help.

What I am saying is that if she was from a minority (say Aboriginal or an Australian of Islamic background), do you think the media would be clambering over each other to get her story? Of course they wouldn't. Former beauty school student has an attractive resonance for them.

I would also say that she might well have been a willing participant until things went pear-shaped (or bribes were forgotten). Also, with regard to her mental state, call me callous, but I can think of many more people rotting in third world prisons that are more deserving of our sympathy. Rather than focusing on this convicted mule, what about all those refos we have bunged up in S holes throughout the South Pacific? Aren't there stories more deserving than this woman?

As you said, do the crime, do the time, that includes coming to accept your circumstances when it was your own stupidity or avarice that put you there in the first place. No sympathy from me at all.

White woman's syndrome? Get a grip, and don't bring race into this. You are pathetically uninformed, not unusual for this site. She is fragile emotionally. The only people to have prospered from this are her siblings after years of incarceration. Ironically one of them may have caused her to be there. And all got cosy with indigenous Balinese at one time or another. But yes, if she did the crime she must do the time. Again.

Same here, white woman syndrome. What if she were a minority? Not a damsel in distress but a convicted drug mule. Says a lot about the decline of social standards when "journalism" stoops to pay felons like this multiple millions for their stories. If the media had any scruples, they would forego paying this woman and instead make a donation to a worthy charity. Lock her up!

No sympathy from me - and I'm an Aussie! She needs to do the full sentence!
