And poor Canada was going to open the gates for 5,000 middle Eastern refugees. Perhaps this might make them rethink their position? What sucks about it is that short of real live mind-reading you can't find out the difference between those who aren't Islamists nuts and those who are. Its quite sad really... at least it was only 2 Canadian citizens gone Islamist found (unless there are many more sleepers).

Zen student, you're leaving out the part about the terrorists trying to hide in schools, hospitals, and neighborhoods. Perhaps if this fictional Monammed kid of yours had parents with a set of balls, they wouldn't let terrorist operate in thier back yards. Which would keep them from taking the colateral damage when the terrorists are taken out. Remember, you're with us or against us. It's as simple as that.

are you going to blindly believe all terrorism is related to Islam

Close. Nearly all the conflicts taking place in the world right now directly involve Muslims. Err, just a coincidence?

peaceful people who believe in Islam

It's not the people I have an issue with, it's their religious ideology. It's an ideology of intolerance that is consistently the inspiration for insane terrorist acts targeting innocent non-believers, like Japanese company employees.

Will you bar the gates to Christians as well when you take into account radicals of that religion have carried out acts of terrorism as well?

Sure. Which Christian, (or Buddhist, etc.) groups do you have in mind? Please name a few, you know, the ones that regularly commit global terrorism. Anyway, I'm no fan of Christianity, either, but it has proven itself able to evolve and accept others. Not so Islam. How many progressive, liberal, high-tech Islamic societies can you name?

I'm with you there Jeff. Its not the people, its the ideology. Sure Smith you may believe that all religions are created equal and strive for the benefit of promoting peace and good will in the hearts of men, but when you get down to the brass tacks Mohammed wasn't anywhere near a holy man like Budda, Jesus, and heck, even Ghandi (even though he didn't create any religious sects). This man that was the complete opposite of the previous religious figures and was influential in a bad way and in effect created a cult mentality with his "book".

The only reason you have peaceful muslims (unfortunately some are more hardline than you might know, since nobody can read minds...) is due to their own interpretation of the qur'an and hadiths (if they believe them) or that of the Imam that teaches them, or just simply the fact that they're good people period regardless of religious belief. Just like you can find different versions of a bible and different sects etc.

People don't really have issues with muslims, but the core ideology of Islam, its founder's actions, and the current results that hare happening today. Not as recent but still going on, it reminds me of an Indonesian woman that was being held as a slave in city where I live as a slave & concubine by a Saudi couple in 2006. Of course this was against US law and the couple were penalized for it, but the fact was that it was ok for them to own slaves in Saudi Arabia and they brought that kind of thinking to the US, until the woman realised that in the US she had rights. A top line cleric for SA Al Fazwan in 2003 stated that slavery is a part of Islamic beliefs and the qur'an unfortunately condones it with no contradictions in that belief and is in charge of the government financed religious teaching of Islam. And this still happens to this day sad to say. Mohammed had slaves & concubines, his followers did as well... Jesus didn't have any slaves around... neither did Budda when he searched for enlightenment. Notice the difference?

Zen student: Muslim terrorists, -- the 9/11 ones, the Canadians, shoe bomber, etc, -- are wealthy, privileged and protected. No, they are nothing like the innocent little kid who sees parents getting blown up, as you imagine. Bin Laden's father was an industrialist.

What they had have in common is their evil ideology ...and the ability to travel, study and live in Western societies. So the solution is pretty simple: cut to zero the number of men of Islamic background from the Mideast and North Africa you admit to your country. Problem solved.

What a nightmare.

This goes to show that the 'war on terror' is much trickier than it looks. Sick, twisted ideologies like those of Al-Qaeda are hard to eradicate completely. You can't kill an idea like islamofascism overnight, unfortunately. It's going to be a long drawn-out process.

I have always said and will continue to say that if you want to stop terrorism, improve the level of education in these countries for a start. Countries rife with illiteracy and lack of education are breeding grounds for terrorism.

Imagine a kid in the Middle East, let's just call him Mohammed for the sake of argument, sees his beloved mum and dad blown away by American soldiers or incinerated in a drone attack blamed on the US. At that young and impressionable age, he then runs to a mosque (or even worse, a 'madrassa' for spiritual guidance and support and here is where it begins. If the mullah he talks to happens to be a fundamentalist nut (and a persuasive conman type one), then the kid is going to be brainwashed. The mullah becomes his mentor and his teacher. And remember once upon a time when you thought your parents were always right? Well, there you have it.

You want to solve terrorism? Stop the grievances which lead to kids becoming terrorists when they grow up. Of course, not all whacko terrorist fit this profile but I bet you that quite a few do. Just my two cents.

Not at all, or are you going to blindly believe all terrorism is related to Islam (you don't even bother to differentiate between peaceful people who believe in Islam and radicals who believe in terrorism)? Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't this happen in Algeria and not Canada, and weren't more than just Canadians involved? Are you suggesting no one else has ever committed acts of terrorism except Islamists? Will you bar the gates to Christians as well when you take into account radicals of that religion have carried out acts of terrorism as well? No? Why the double standards if not?

No, you're 'solution' is a big part of the problem; blame an entire religion and a very large part of the world's population based on the acts of a few. I'm sure they'll stop if you do that.

Yes, i called them "foreigners." I don't care about their passports: They weren't born there and have no intention of fitting in, the latter often holding true for their offspring as well. They are indeed "foreigners," regardless of what excuses the multi-culties will come up with this time (they always do).

Spot the none Canadian. What a load of tripe.

And?

Canada, once one of the world's most moderate, safe and reasonable societies, is quickly becoming a base for exotic terrorists, be they Jihadists, Tamil Tigers or Sihks. The multi-culties encourage these fanatical foreigners to maintain their ignorant and toxic religions and creeds, and the immigration boards are a soft touch.
