Get ready for the hypocrisy festival:

The ICC should only be used on Africa, Serbia and Russia and not allies of the US.

About time.

Looking forward to hearing USA excuses when Bibi flies into DC to pay a visit to Trump.

The Palestinian-Israeli conflict is disgusting. This conflict will end when that one nation which has gotten the habit to kidnap hostages and perpetrate massacres/rapes renounces from this habit, as well as from its plan to commit genocide to the other nation, and grow up a new and sane leadership that seeks peace. If the conflict does not end in a peace deal, and one nation insists on wiping out the other, both nations will perish in an ugly manner.

The new defense minister, Israel Katz, who replaced Gallant earlier this month, said Thursday’s decision is “a moral disgrace, entirely tainted by antisemitism, and drags the international judicial system to an unprecedented low.”

Playing the racism card, well actually no it's about the fact you've massacred tens of thousands women and children.

Well done, so it's official now, he is International War Crime fugitive.

.

Now he can't even visit his father birthplace which is Poland without fear of that warrant being uphold.

But even they know its a fairy tale and a ludicrous announcement brought on by the same ancient European Jew hatred. - dutch

Sorry, sir your anti-semitism card has been declined. It appears to have been maxed out quite some time ago.

As the saying goes "If the problem is everyone then it's probably you". Branding individuals and organisations as anti-semitic without proof should be made a suable offence. A distasteful trope that cheapens the memory of the holocaust. I'd imagine any victim or survivor of the holocaust would be horrified by what Israel is doing in Gaza.

Where's US veto? Oh that's International Court not UN, so no favoritism can be done for this case.

The last time there's resolution for cease fire, it just being vetoed by only one country.

Netanyahu over the next few years will just take the Putin approach - only visit friendly nations that are not going to arrest him. Just as with Putin, the ICC Is a toothless body.

Not sure if you're talking about Hamas or Israel there. Your accusations could be applied equally to both sides. Only discernable difference is the scale of the crimes and how they're funded and supported.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

It should be extended to all Israel Jews ,who engage in Gaza genocide

-1 ( +8 / -9 )

Alleged war crim, US-ally Netanyahu, can't go to 124 countries.

Will the same people who slammed Mongolia for hosting Putin slam western countries when they inevitably host Netanyahu?

Will it be consistency or more hypocrisy...

(and yes, we know the US is not a member of the court and that will be the convenient explanation for the selective outrage)

-7 ( +4 / -11 )

Pretty sure Netanyahu will get by fine by not visiting foreign nations that are signed up to the ICC. He will visit the US under Trump.

The Hamas Military leader is now in many pieces, so he will also be a challenge to arrest.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

It extends to airspace

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Now he can't even visit his father birthplace which is Poland

Benjamin Netanyahu was born in Tel Aviv, Israel.

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

@NB

That's right but from Polish father, who was born in Warsaw.

-5 ( +5 / -10 )

It should be extended to all Israel Jews ,who engage in Gaza genocide

Hamas strives to commit genocide to Israel, and is willing to sacrifice its own nation for this sake.

-11 ( +1 / -12 )

Well done and its thanks to few countries who had enough courage to gobto CPI as Sourh Africa!

What ever you say about sionists they always reply the stupid old card of antisemitism, thinking it still work...the genocide is real and they will have to pay for that.

Oh dear me.

I suspect that those lovely, well meaning people out there who LOVE Israel and the Jewish people but are alarmed at how successful they have been at destroying Hamas may be in for a disappointment.

I suspect quite strongly that the motivations behind this rather frivolous charge against Israel which suggest a moral equivalency between Israel and Hamas are not quite what they seem...

Which HAMAS leaders should also be charged? They have all been killed.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Warrant issued against Hamas leader, Ibrahim Al-Masri, for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza conflict. The IDF says they killed him in June.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Many of these countries will have signed the Rome Statute thus obligating them to detain Netanyahu.

In the Hamas-led attack, militants stormed into southern Israel, killing 1,200 people — mostly civilians — and taking some 250 others hostage.

Most of the civilians killed on that day were killed by the IDF, not Hamas. AP should be aware of this by now...

So, the IDF decided to go into a kibbutz holding a dance party and massacre the mostly Israeli citizens there?

Any independent evidence for that wild take?

Many of these countries will have signed the Rome Statute thus obligating them to detain Netanyahu.

Putin has made 15 international trips to around a dozen nations since the warrant for his arrest was issued in March 2023. No arrests. Mongolia was "obligated" to arrest him.

The Israeli leader will no doubt be fine also if/when he travels. He won't be flying anywhere he has not been given clearance. The only nation he has even visited for over a year is the US.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Am I misreading this very article?

The world’s top war-crimes court issued arrest warrants Thursday for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu,

It is not Israel who kidnaps hostages.

@DeanzaZZR

"Looking forward to hearing USA excuses when Bibi flies into DC to pay a visit to Trump."

Why? The US does not recognize the authority of the ICC. That is well known.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Great..

Catch those criminals..

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

The thing is that now every country that supplies weapons, ammunition, money, etc to Israel is, at best, on the same moral level as China, Iran, and North Korea IF you see the accusations that they're supplying weapons etc to Russia.

And that's BEFORE Trump has taken office again.

In a couple months, when America tries to lecture other countries from the moral high ground, what do you think the vast majority of the world's reaction will be?

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

The ICC is a political clown car. It should be abolished.

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

It seems there are some people who haven't read the PCHRGaza reports for the 'period of relative calm' before the Gaza Uprising.

Well, maybe they haven't, or maybe they have and are hoping you never will.

Because if you did, your opinion of the people who make counterfactual statements like 'Israel doesn't kidnap people' etc would be pretty harsh.

Hamas is not a "nation". ISIS had more characteristics as a nation state than the Hamas run Gaza strip.
