I expect Russians and Russia-philes to say claims of any Russian involvement are fake news created by the west trying to make Russia look bad.

A scary reality is two rogue states, Putin's Russia and Trump's US, each with huge militaries and huge nuclear weapons stockpiles, are vying once again to be the globe's dominant empires.

Trump won't respond.

So that is 2 independent investigations have come to the same conclusion. Russia is as guilty as hell.

Horrific bodies falling from the sky, a crime of unamanagle horror yet as it was state sponsored no one accountable.

@cla68bbush The "evidence" is cherry picked, not an impartial investigation.

Do you have information that says something different? If you have a media source saying otherwise, maybe blaming Ukraine or your usual least-favored-nation-that's-Trump's-'boss', maybe RT, Sputnik, any of Putin's outlets (at least the English publications), please send a link. Infowars, Breitbart, Fox 'news', any of the US rightist's outlets would also be OK.

Bellingcat

Bellingcat? You've got to be joking. That's an anti-Russia propaganda site run by a chubby middle-aged bloke from Shrewsbury, England and "supported" by the Atlantic Council. He's no expert on anything, nothing more than a self-publicizing chancer.

It's simply beyond belief that he's being promoted as an expert. This is nothing more than fake news.

The US military admitted its mistake in shooting down an Iranian civilian aircraft within 48 hours. Took responsibility, apologized, and made reparations.

The Russia government just continues to lie to the world and to their own people.

What will Trump and his spineless enablers in Congress do? Zip, zero, nil, nada, nothing.

Good thing the FIFA World Cup is being held in a country that respects life and freedom. Up up Coca Cola!! Long live freedom,

I guess most of us knew that before.

Putin's response taken right out of 'The Art of the Deal': Deny, deny, deny!

Flew into Amsterdam the day this happened, tragic. The Russian state must be brought to justice.

If Bellingcat is a key part of your case, you've got problems. That dude is a total shill for the neocon west.

Cui bono ?

What did Russia have to gain by shooting down a Western civilian plane other than really bad Western press ?

Nothing and that's why they most likely didn't do it IMO.

On the other hand the Ukraine/US would have something to gain from in namely more demonisation of Putin & Russia.

We've known it was a Russian missile, all that's happened now is a very costly rubber stamp to that fact, and as always nothing will ever get done. Won't bring back the innocent lives that were destroyed, and won't stop the a similar event occurring in future... Governments & Businesses still deal with Russia, so ... no change.

One of the perils of flying to Europe from Japan is that you fly over Russia...I always hope, when I'm 10,000 meters above the Urals, that Dimitri down there isn't drunk and in a bad mood, or just extremely paranoid today, and decides to send a SAM my way...

Nah, I would say that Russia is simply getting in the way of US's complete world domination.

The "evidence" is cherry picked, not an impartial investigation.

Yes, very much so!

The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Thursday:

We point out that sizable amounts of information Russia handed over to the JIT were ignored in materials shown at a news conference.

The authors of the presentation forgot to mention that we had received in Moscow Dutch experts and investigators from the prosecutor’s office, unclassified and passed to investigators technical and design data on the Buk missiles, provided the results of a full-scale experiment carried out by the producer of this type of air defense weapons - Almaz-Antey Air and Space Defense Corporation.

No evidence has been presented except for a colorful video based on information fabricated by bloggers from the Bellingcat agency, who were earlier caught distorting facts to prove Russia’s alleged involvement in the MH17 crash.

The "evidence" is cherry picked, not an impartial investigation. yep another president is also very good at that

This investigation shares common features with the investigation into Skripal case.....it 's seems to me that those 2 cases are investigated by one investigator. And he or she has one main specific - he(she) doesn't like to introduce any evidence. His(her) accusations are groundless. At the same time he(she) promises to show them but a little bit later....and the main specific of his(her) actions is anti-Russian rhetoric...to be honestly I am tired with anti-Russian hysteria. Please, think of something new next time.
