Iranian leaders are out of touch. Far out of touch with own people. the old generation remembers all the freedoms they had in the 1960-70 and thinks their grandkids should have those same freedoms, without fake religious leaders forcing their will onto everyone.

Maybe not quite that low, but the University of Maryland's Centre for International and Security Studies surveys of Iranians does show that these 'protests' are less supported than the 'protests' against Biden's election were, or Canada's "Freedom Convoys" that took over Ottawa for so long.
Now, a lot of people are going to claim they speak for the population of Iran, but they don't have the sort of solid basis for their claims that are usually demanded by the media before they treat those claims as having validity.

If the CIA is behind this, why did Biden agree to send 7 billion USD to Iran for a couple hostages? And why is the media just fine with that?

Sounds like there already is "National unity" within Iran - unity with the line of thought that the current Leadership needs to be swept aside and replaced with a Modern form of Governance, not one driven by Military or Religious Dictatorship. The Religious based government experiment has failed. Time to move on.
