“It’s America’s fault our citizens don’t like us torturing and murdering them!”

Meanwhile, in Iran, Russia's erstwhile friend and ally has their head up their backside when it comes to respecting the human rights of others and of course (What do they do?) they also blame all of their own self-inflicted woes, problems and mistakes on the U.S. Some things never change.

The so-called Great Satan is a convenient explanation for failed leadership. Why can't these virtuous Iranian leaders foil the Great Satan with their mystical powers?

The so-called Great Satan

reminds of Dana Carvey and his Church Lady on Saturday Night Live, or of right wingers that blame all problems on the 'left'. The simple-minded who can only see a binary existence.I t's not surprising Iran and its brand of religious extremism joined forces with Putin and the ROC promising getting killed fighting for Mother Russia wipes the dead person of their 'sins', whatever that might mean.

“This rioting was planned,” he told a cadre of police students in Tehran. “These riots and insecurities were designed by America and the Zionist regime, and their employees.”

LOL, for a supreme leader he's not very good at taking responsibility for his own fashion police killing an innocent young woman. LOL, it's easy to blame Israel for everything, including the actions of his own fashion police enforcing his fashion code.

All of these fascist regimes can do is play the victim.

The Mullahs. Putin. Trump.....

Iran's brutal Islamo-fascist regime is ripe for collapse. Turkey also, with 83% inflation...

Left or Right, Religious or Populist, all dicatorships have the same play book when the going gets tough with domestic popular dissent: Blame the Americans.

It must REALLY get in the Clericss' craw that the youth favor the GREAT SATAN Model over the prison of the mind they are forced to live in.

The descendants of the original inhabitants of Iran who refused to bow down and convert to Islam and fled persecution live mostly in India today and are the most prosperous, modern and liberal communities of India.

@Nemo

Actually the US did in fact create a coup in Iran through a project named Operation Ajax.

Aww, he's heartbroken?! Everyone had better stop protesting then. The old guilt trip always works.

Does everyone realize that women in Iran used to dress just like any other western nation in the 1960s and 1970s, before the religious far-far-far-far right their took power? There are validated photos of beautiful Iranian women at the beach enjoying a day in the sun. They seemed really happy.

https://www.dailystar.co.uk/pics/pictures/gallery/life-under-shah-pre-revolutionary-18344744 and https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-47032829 have some average day photos of people in Iran.

I don't understand why old men who get to chose how to dress themselves insist on forcing women to dress in specific ways?

The mullahs figure that if they can control the women then they can control everything in the country. In fact they considered it the single most important thing was to force women to wear a chador and have no rights. One of the early ayatollahs said this openly but I can't find the quote right now.

The same was true of Afghanistan and Morocco in the 1970s.

To a lot of Iranians, always blaming the US has become a tired excuse for their own Iranian leadership not to look at the mirror

When even the women in Afghanistan are rallying in support of the women in Iran, ya know the Iranian leadership has done messed up

Why blame the US? Wars and chaos is what you want to happen right? to hasten the coming of your eschatological Mahdi, who will emerge in the end of time to establish peace and justice and redeem Islam. Shia radical Islam will meet its end when Persia joins the confederate led by Russia to invade Israel for a spoil. No Mahdi will come for you!

If you think that the Iranian government is out of touch with this claim, I'd suggest you visit the University of Maryland's Centre for International and Security Studies and read about what Iranians who haven't been filtered have to say about their government, their laws, and their system.

The contrast between what they say for themselves, and what those AP etc portray as 'experts' speaking for them is remarkable.

Google “Mojahedin-e-Khalq Organization”, “National Endowment for Democracy” and the CIA’s covert operations against Iran. You don’t have to research Israel involvement unless you have about 5000 hours of free time.

Watch the police station CCTV video of her standing alone then falling down with a heart attack.

(I’m an atheist and don’t support any religion, but I do believe it was wrong for her to be arrested for not dressing to strict Islamic code.)

Well maybe they wouldn't blame the US if there weren't precedents.
