Iran's top leader says there will be no talks with U.S.

Iran's government can pound sand. They've never done anything truly beneficial to their people. They've lied too much, and what money they do get from outside their country doesn't improve the lives of Iranians unless they're crooked and well connected.

In remarks carried by state television, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said "along with sanctions, Americans have recently raised two more options, war and talks... War will not happen and we will not enter talks."

The Khamenei is doing the same thing they always do. I can understand them not entering talks with Trumps idiocy, but they also are shutting out diplomacy again in favor of religious extremism.

I have sympathy for any country that's been shafted by the Great Satan. Doesn't mean I like the religious police and many, many aspects of Iranian life but having, you know, actually met people from there I can tell you that they're not monsters and they want to get on without being ostracised by poorly informed commentators.

There have been protests and rebellions in Iran against their totalitarian government. Just the same, Americans must also resist the tyranny engulfing the US too. there are innocent OK people in every nation who just want to live their lives.

I provided a link to why I believe it is a bad deal. I admit I don't know why anyone would support that deal. I'm sorry that admitting I don't know something makes you think that I'm a blind Trump supporter with no logic instead of just an honest person who has a different opinion than you.

If someone is in favor of strong immigration policy, they are automatically a Mexican hating racist too, right? I'm sorry, but it's not just black and white anymore. These types of knee jerk opinions are a big reason why the world is in the state it's in.

The most ironic part is I've openly admitted here that I did not vote for Trump and I think he's a buffoon. I just don't blindly follow one side or the other as so many do, I choose to form my own opinions.

Who would want to talk to him anyway? He's an extremist, obsessed with power, who empowers religious maniacs, and who's currently destroying his own country's economy due to his backwards policies.

However, it's his people who are suffering, not him. The remaining signatories must do the honorable thing and stay with the deal.

Conduct ICBM tests,

Toss a few insults back at Trump when he flips out on Twitter,

Arrange an international extravaganza (or a summit) with lots of photo ops,

Smile a lot and tell Trump what a great man he is and that you admire & respect him,

Get sanctions lifted based on empty promises,

Hold on to all of your nukes,

Have your cake and eat it too.

Trump is just popping off his chops again. Talking loud and saying nothing. His credibility keeps getting less and less. Nobody wants to talk with him anyway, he's too boorish and obnoxious to work with. And he's peeved because a little bird cheeped a major character flaw of his - he's a wimpy whiny snot boy who loves to get his butt SPANKED. How can anybody respect or take seriously an immature jerk like that? Iran, NK, Russia are all laughing at the USA because of this narcisstic Neanderthal.

It's just that I'm not sure why I should take the word of some guy on the internet and a book he read, over the fact that multiple intelligent people from multiple nations, all with a similar goal of denuclearlizing Iran, came up with this agreement, studied it very intently, and decided it was a good deal.

At face value, it would look like anything that some guy on the internet tried to claim otherwise would be entirely laughable, but I figure you deserve a chance to convince us otherwise first.

Really think that the US care more about Iran than Iran does about the us tbh.

Trump should/could have worked with Iran to defeat IS, something euros understood. Instead, he's pushed US already one-sided approach to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict further and chose to isolate Iran. A very narrow-minded approach imo.

If you get a contract and you're upholding your end, suddenly the other signer renegs and says he wants a new contract, you really wanna work with that guy? How can you trust him to uphold the next contract? Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me...

extanker, I’ve read the article and several others like it. I didn’t see anything I haven’t already read and commented on.

The sunset clause is a requirement. No country would agree to a deal in perpetuity. The article references what Iran can do....in 2025. And if they do that then we can put the sanctions back in place, just like we can do today. And finally, there is always the criticism of the deal not being bigger. There is nothing preventing Trump from keeping the deal in place while going after any other agreement he wants.

What Trump needs in the cooperation of Europe, China, and Russian since the US won’t be effective alone. Many countries worked hard for this deal and if you think you are fooling one then you must believe you are fooling them all.

Trump has no idea what he will do next. Tell China and Russia that they will be banned from the US if they trade with Iran? Regime change to a theocracy in the Middle East? Trump doesn’t build anything or reach agreements, he just tears up agreements and creates chaos mixed in with hardline stances. We need both our allies and our enemies on this one.

It left way too many loopholes open for Iran to do whatever they wanted in the future. It wasn't working, Iran was just going along with it until they could squeeze through the loopholes.

The deal was working. Trump could have kept it in place and gone after anything else he wanted.
