Lol, cowboy nuclear stance would mean that the US would have used them on Iran already instead of using diplomacy.

This is the funniest headline I've read this week!

Was Pres. Obama straddling a missile ala Slim Pickens? If not, I don't see it.

Taka

What diplomacy? Lol indeed!

Lol, Obama's been called every name under the sun and beyond in the last year but I've never heard someone call him 'cowboy'.

"couldn’t do a damn thing" - Ahmadinejad. Ahaha, someone's been taking liberties with the translations here.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

So much for Obama's Iran policy of talking to them. Now Ahmedinejad calls him a novice, a reader and not a leader and advises him to come back when his sweat has dried and he has experience.

Hopefully, this obvious demonstration of Left Wing idelolgy foolishness will educate voting Americans and dissuade them from another such disastrous experiment.

RomeoRamenII - So now your taking Ahmadinejad's word over the President's?! Unbelievable.

"Hopefully, this obvious demonstration of Left Wing idelolgy foolishness will educate voting Americans and dissuade them from another such disastrous experiment" So Americans should get voting advice from Ahmadinejad?

Dude -- just commenting on what was reported in this article. You should try doing that sometime.

Obama's strategy to implement a leftist alternative to traditional diplomacy has failed spectacularly. Iran will have nuclear weapons and there will be a frantic Middle East nuclear arms race as a result.

That part of the world will pay a high price because of America's social experiment to install a by-product of affirmative action in the White House.

"Dude -- just commenting on what was reported in this article. You should try doing that sometime" I think what was reported was support from all U.S. allies.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

What exactly is a "by-product" of affirmative action? He is either a "product" of affirmative action or he isn't.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Harvard Law School, magna cum laude/Professor at Univ. of Chicago Law School/Illinois State Senator/U.S. Senator,Illinois/President of the United States. He accomplished that by affirmative action? Just asking.

Moderator: Back on topic please. The subject is Iran's reaction to U.S. nuclear weapons policy.

Watch out Iran! Obama has his water pistol armed and ready.

Another anti-Obama poster(and a recently registered one). Not worthy of a response.

OK, so I shall. Ahmedinejad is berating our President as per the article and you're agreeing with him. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine an "American" siding with an Islamic dictator over our own duly-elected President of the United States, but you managed to pull it off.

Disgusting.

Moderator: Readers are allowed to express a stance without having to be subjected to your "disgust." Please keep that in mind and be more tolerant of other views.

America must change its president every 8 years, so how long this too- good -to- be- true offer can last? forever or will be reviewed now and then depend on circumstances? I am not against it at all , just a little surprised.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Ahmadinejad managed to "pull it off", because Ahmadinejad is doing the "Right Thing", where ironically, Obama only talks about it, and does otherwise.

That's the problem with American leadership, capitalism, democracy, employment (now at 40% of all Americans not working because 60% will fire their friends just to keep the lifestyle they love while billions around the world live in poverty and American military, political, psychological oppression)

We should be expressing disgust with ourselves, our excesses, our ignorance, our selfishness, not something we are ignorant of.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Well, my many friends, I have to admit it that this article rocked my world in a way, because FOR ONCE it looks like Obama's predessecor MAY have been correct. The current leader of Iran is not a good person.Anyone who could criticize Obama, who has just accomplished so much healing around the planet, and merely by just being elected in fact, must have some serious baggage he is carrying.

When I think about it, this guy President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad could be as dangerous as a teabaggerist.

Finally a president, who can be more than just a cowboy - and everyone attacks him being a leftist...

LOL!! Patriotic aren't you? Did you support Bush when he was critized by Chavez or Ahmadinejad?

Iran has every right to decry Obama's stance. Context and facts.... Here is a recap of what they are trying to make you forget.

Last Spring, Rose Gottemoeller, an assistant secretary of state and Washington's chief nuclear arms negotiator, asked Israel to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Israel refused.

The United Nations passed a resolution calling on Israel to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and to submit to inspections. Israel refused.

The IAEA asked Israel to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and to submit to inspections. Israel refused.

Iran's formal notification to the IAEA of the planned construction of the backup fuel-rod facility underscores that Iran is playing by the rules of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty which Iran has signed.

Iran allows IAEA inspections of all its facilities.

Contrary to face-saving claims, it appears that the US and Israel were both caught off guard by Iran's announcement. The reasoning is simple. Had the US or Israel announced the existence of he new facility before Iran's notified the IAEA, it would have put Iran on the defensive. As it is now, the US and Israel seem to be playing catch up, casting doubt on the veracity of Israel's claims to "know" that Iran is a nuclear threat.

The IAEA and all 16 United States Intelligence Agencies are unanimous in agreement that Iran is not building and does not possess nuclear weapons.

In 1986, Mordachai Vanunu blew the whistle and provided photographs showing Israel's clandestine nuclear weapons factory underneath the reactor at Dimona.

Israel made the same accusations against Iraq that it is making against Iran, leading up to Israel's bombing of the power station at Osirik. Following the invasion of 2003, international experts examined the ruins of the power station at Osirik and found no evidence of a clandestine weapons factory in the rubble.

The United Nations has just released the Goldstone Report, a scathing report which accuses Israel of 37 specific war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza earlier this year. Israel has denounced the report as "Anti-Semitic (even though Judge Goldstone is himself Jewish), and the United States will try to block the report from being referred to the War Crimes Tribunal at the Hague, thereby making the US Government an accessory after-the-fact.

In light of the obvious hypocrisy being flaunted by Obama here, threatening Iran while supporting israel's nukes, it is fair to say that derision is probably the best response to the US position.

Libertas,

Excellent post! You summed up nicely everything that we should be reading and hearing often in the MSM, but never do (I wonder why).

Ahmedinejad is berating our President as per the article and you're agreeing with him. Disgusting.

Dude, be disgusted all you want. The fact remains Ahmedinejad knows that Obama is a joke, and he can do anything and say anything and Obama will accept it. Ahmadinejad realized from Day One that all Obama is good for is a sound bite.

Obama's apology speech in Egypt last year has left the Arab world laughing at him. In their culture what he did is what they would expect from a Village Idiot. Ahmadinejad has relegated Obama to that of a whipping boy.

Iran allows IAEA inspections of all its facilities.

Uh, no. The IAEA has regularly stated that Iran does not allow site inspections as are necessary and can not explain the traces of highly enriched uranium found at some facilities.

Iran also has a habit (like NK) of engaging in diatribe about attacking neighbors. Not a good sign. NK and Iran are dictatorships that persecute their own people. Another bad sign. The world has seen this type of thing before and is justified in its concern that neither can be trusted.

The Israel issue is a red herring to divert attention. Israel probably has nukes but it not touting them as a way to intimidate their neighbors. The comparisons are weak.

Obama has tried to engage both NK and Iran in constructive talks. The response has consistantly been a stick in the eye. Perhaps Obama lacked experience early on. But he seems to be coming up the learning curve on Iran and NK rather quickly. Dictatorships should not be trusted.

Ahmadinejad and his supporters are mostly clowns.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

Praiseworthy, glorified president of Iran is an orator who manages to keep some people in his country glued to his speeches, especially if they deride other nations and then again if they deride the United States of America, its culture, democracy, political system, its leaders. Some accomplishment. In the land of the blind . . .

The glorified one is very shrewd. He doesn't believe in what he is saying himself, but he knows how to work towards getting what he wants by making Iranians believe what he is shouting.

The praiseworthy becomes less praiseworthy when he reveals himself by labeling the leader of the biggest democratic nation in the world as a cowboy, because Mahmoud cannot have his way with nuclear power. It indicates his weakness, his narrow-mindedness and his lack of decisive arguments. Probably works well in front of a well-trained crowd in Iran, but not on an international stage.

What the 'Arab world' thinks of president Obama would place them on the list of village idiots - if they imagine themselves to be playing any role in world affairs. But let's not fool ourselves thinking the Arab world is united in any way - except in greed.

The fact remains Ahmedinejad knows that Obama is a joke, and he can do anything and say anything and Obama will accept it.

That depends on your perception of a 'joke'. If it means Obama is not going to follow the example of his predecessors invading Iran and trying the same thing they did in Iraq - well, yes then he is a joke. Probably a joke Americans appreciate. Loud-mouthed dictator orators should be ignored.

Adverts, you forget it was Obama who claimed he would meet with Iran with no pre-conditions. He was busy showing the world how wrong Mr. Bush was for his stance toward Iran. But now he's included Iran with NK (aka, the two remaining members of "The Axis of Evil") on his nuclear hit list. My, my, how is that working out for ya Obama lovers?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"But now he's included Iran with NK (aka, the two remaining members of "The Axis of Evil") on his nuclear hit list."

I don't have a problem with this. Let's face it ramen, if President Obama were to flatten Iran's nuclear aspirations, personally find a cure for AIDS, cancer and Rush Limbaugh's impotence/drug addiction, you, saliwind and all the others on the extreme right would still be whining simplyh because of political affiliation.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Obama probably thinks Iran deserves nukes in all honesty. He would nuke Israel for zoning infractions in Jerusalem before he would ever attack Iran.

Obama bowed to the leaders in the ME and what did it get him or America? nothing.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I notice that RR didn't bother to answer my question about what exactly is the meaning of "a by-product of affirmative action."

I can guess, actually I think I know what it means, but as a native English speaker I am just asking for a translation from American-Go into English.

The bomb was made under Bush and Cheney's watch. Obama is now putting a crimp in Iran's game plan. The Bush plan was to wait for the bomb as it flew over Warsaw or Prague. They never thought it would go to Israel directly - Cheney thought it would fly over the north pole and down to Tel Aviv. Ahmadinejad has discovered a new weapon of mass distruction - talk radio. He is using talk radio style for doing his dirty work.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Obama's basically doing what he said he would before he got elected. He said that he would engage in dialogue with these types of regimes for 2 reasons: 1) Perhaps it really could bring about change and 2) If it didn't, the US and the rest of the world could feel that the diplomatic option had been exhausted and that stronger measures would be needed. Iran is backing itself into a corner with their rhetoric, and that corner becomes smaller every day.

"LIBERTAS, Excellent post! I'm not a religious person in the least and I couldn't give a damn about religion, but it's amazing how Israel uses that anti-semite line to the max -- literally. And let's remember, Persians (Iranians) are NOT Arabs. They have a very rich culture and history...more than even America's. But unfortunately the mullahs in Iran have misrepresented the entire population with their hardline fanatic politics. If Iran gets a REAL democracy overnight and still wishes to build their nuclear power plant, then it's no business of the US or Israel if that's what the PEOPLE want.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

more than even America's" Well, why stop there... They got a culture rich in history more than all you European types too.. But did it ever dawn on you that so do the Jews?
