The only way to combat their senseless rioting and bounty is to flood the web with movies that offend them. A lesson needs to be sent; the message that freedom of speech and religion in one country is not the business of another country. Just imagine thousand of Japanese or Americans taking the day off to protest and burn flags. It just proves that love cannot be bought and the Yanks need to come home. (That's what the UK plans to do.)

Disgusting.

Yeah, the Arab spring is just proving how nuts Islam, or the strict interpretation of it, is. I note there are no riots in Indonesia or even Malaysia. What is this middle eastern madness?

Don't these religious types realise how idiotic the idea of "blasphemy" is in this day and age? It is impossible to have a society in which freedom of thought and expression are respected and which also has laws against "blasphemy". If you try to force me to respect your irrational views I will adopt an increasingly hardline stance against you.

For example, in my new, made-up religion anyone who makes statements which contradict the laws of physics is a heretic and must be punished. This applies to anyone advocating the existence of an omnipresent deity. You might accuse me of blasphemy under your religion, but under my religion you are a heretic. The only way we can peacefully coexist is by allowing freedom of expression and belief.

Radical Islam is cult of death. A substitute for dealing positively with the difficulties of life in the real world.

If you feel humiliated by someone's depiction of your prophet, your holy book, or your religion, why not prove to the world that you are beyond such portrayals? That you are people of dignity. Fatwahs, beheadings, effigy burnings, and suicide attacks will win you no friends, no sympathy, no future.

These radical Iranians need to get a life or maybe even better a couple of drones up side their heads to let them know, that the whole world is not as backwards as they are. The Satanic Verses?? Better come up with a new book, how about Satanic Retarded Terrorists pretending to actually know anything about RELIGION??

if the British writer had previously been killed for blasphemy an anti-Islam film currently enraging Muslims would never have been made.

Sorry, Hassan, there are many people in the world braver than your psychopathic jihadis. There are plenty of good people who do not fear and oppress truth as you do. And they will continue to express what they will.

(To clarify, I am not including the filmmaker in the 'good people' category.)

Rushdie's 'murder was authorised under Islam' Just allow those words to sink in for a moment. Give me the Witnesses or the Mormons anyday.

Agree absolutely. Every government in the "free world" (ie not the religiously insane world) should commit to producing at least twenty films ridiculing every major religion. No mercy. Mockery to the max. By spreading the "blame", people like Rushdie would become less obvious as targets.

And seeing as the radically religious already hate the guts of rational people, it wouldn't do anything to worsen the situation. It might even make some folk wake up and realise the idiocy of their ideology.

And I'm no aetheist.

And as more and more situations like this arise from Islamic ideology I will continue to despise it as an evil that must be shunned and hopefully some day eradicated from our existance.

And does Hassan think inciting killing Rushdie for blood money, not because it's the right thing to do, will please the prophet and his gods?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Apart from his book being crap (I've read it) and him looking eternally and supremely smug on every single mugshot, Rushdie has a point in his recent comments about kowtowing to these nuts, and publishers being scared. Obviously the people rioting are uneducated third world types, but the people behind instigating them are much more worried that people will open their eyes to organized religion basically being a load of outdated tosh.

Why hasn't there rioting about an imam framing a young handicapped Christian girl by actually burning himself pages from the Koran? Not to mention all the ongoing shiite vs. sunni slaughter.......

@Madverts Only reason they didn't kill that poor girl was because it was brought up before the international eye. There are many others that were not so fortunate.
