Who Cares ?
I was trying to think of something funny about Iran, but sadly, there's nothing - everything is just Sad about this Country, and I suspect will continue to be so, until it's "Sadistic" Government goes, "Iranic" isn't it....

So, the man leading lots of terrorists around the region gets killed and his country calls him a war hero. Last time I checked, Iran wasn't at war with anyone ... unless hiding and talking big is their idea of war.

Iran has IRGC forces fighting in Syria and Yemen. Iranian regular forces shoot rockets and missiles at targets in Iraq from time to time in support of Shiite Militias that effectively control large areas of Iraq including some majority Sunni regions where they are hated.

It's been three years. If they really had the capability, they would have done so already. If they are still working up to it, they will severely underestimate the USA's Biden regime's response. Striking at USA officials or military personnel is one thing that both American political parties will rally around. Even Mr. Clinton sent barrages of cruise missiles at those who attempted to assassinate former President George H.W. Bush.

RT is reporting that the commander of the Iranian capital's security force was murdered. If this is true, the protesters face a quandary, either making public statements and gestures that unambiguously make it clear that the government they are protesting against is legitimate, or losing any sort of legitimacy with the general Iranian population in the backlash against an attack on a symbol of Iranian democracy that is going to dwarf the backlash in the US after the January 6th invasion of the Capitol building. The University of Maryland's Center for International and Security Studies is coincidentally in the midst of updating its data on Iranian popular opinion and I expect a significant shift in the numbers for any polling done going forward.

Well it is RT, so... lol

That the commemorations of Soleimani's life extended far beyond Iran, even beyond the ME, says a lot about who he was and did.
That who he was and did caused the US to hate him so much that someone offered Trump the option of murdering him on Iraqi soil, in the company of an important, popular, high ranking Iraqi military officer, as he escorted the invited guest of the democratically elected government of Iraq to meet with the democratically elected Iraqi President, well, that says something pretty significant about the American government.

The Iranian president can vow all he wants.
It was a stupendous accomplishment nailing Soleimani.
And remember--he was not on the EU's guest list either.
Anyway--Got him!

There isn't a police commander in Iran who is seen by the people of Iran to be a"symbol of Iranian democracy". Iran has no democracy. The police there are reviled. That is a major reason you see these protests.
Here are your "guardians of Iranian democracy" in action, shooting women in a subway station and going on subway cars beating people. What democracy are these thugs guarding. Please be specific with your answer.
