Most countries isolating themselves from the world would try to mend fences....but not Iran....

exuberant high school students, held aloft placards declaring “Death to America” and “Death to Israel.”

= the mark of an enlightened political system.

How can the leaders of Iran not understand global concern about their nuclear ambitions when vitriol like this is encouraged? If Iran really wanted the world to believe its nuclear program is peaceful, one would think it would make some attempts to win friends.

I really do not like this dictator but I think he looks cool in sunglasses, which I thought were illegal in Iran.

Not only Iran , all The Muslim nations in the world deny Israel’s right to exist.

This is the matter with the Word power and there supporters.

Israel assassinates Iranians and the US spies on Iran-these are just some of the acts reported in the press. If this were being done to the US then there would have been a declaration of war!

Israel's Mossad has a policy of killing its enemies as foreign policy and uses the passports of other countries to do so.

Also it finds and pays other groups to do so.

How iis it foreign powers can be murdering Iranians in their own country unless terrorist groups are not involved? Libya,Afghanistan,Iraq ....all victims of western aggression.

Iran next?

Would it not be normal for Iran to spew a little vitriol?

Is this not state sponsored terrorism?

Has the US not declared war on terror?

And ....

Iran does have friends- Japan, China, Russia etc. Hard to make friends with countries that keep picking on you all the time. Why is it that Israel does not allow IAEA nuclear nspections whilst every other country has to ? If anyone really wants to know about the holocaust, just google " the elusive 6 million "

Senario one, Iran is nuked, Arab states feel they are threatned, senario two, Arab states fear for their survival, they respond with their nukes, no body know that they have nukes too. Senario three, Everyone fearfull once the nukes start flying, Pakistan, North Korea, and you name it watch it, they will want to unleashed their nuke too, because of the electro magnetic field that wll be in the air, otherwise their nukes will be usless, so they fire them off too at everyone that they consider enemies. Well, half the world will be distroyed and full of radio active fallout, from Briton to the Border of China and as far north as one can go. Think this is impossible, wait and see, the cloud is already rising over Iran.

@VicMOsaka

Why is it that Israel does not allow IAEA nuclear nspections whilst every other country has to ?

That is not fair, I admit. Israel is coddled, particularly by the U.S., and it often gets away with despicable behavior.

Bear in mind, though, that Israel does not regularly call for the outright destruction of other nations. How often have you seen Israelis chanting 'Death to Iran', despite Iran-sponsored terrorist attacks inflicted on them?

@kurisupisu

Would it not be normal for Iran to spew a little vitriol?

A little, yes. Iran has plenty of reasons to be angry at the West. But none of those reasons justify the belligerent hostility shown by the current regime. It is dangerous and deliberately invites antagonism. The clerics' and the Revolutionary Guard's stance is not one shared by most Iranian citizens.

They understand them perfectly well, however that is no concern for them. Why do you assume that Ahmedinejad and the mullahs share our priorities?

kurisupisu:

" Israel assassinates Iranians and the US spies on Iran-these "

What hypocrisy. The islamic republic of Iran is fully determined to wipe out Israel and its population, and is aquiring the nuclear weapon to do this. Israel was established to PREVENT another holocaust, and not to invite one.

Israel is not threatening the exstistance of Iran or anybody else. And Israel has every right in the world to anything to protect the live of its 6 million inhabitants.

To blank out all that and only concentrate on the imagined wrong-doings of Israel is absurd.

All that said, I still think that Israel simply does not have the military means to end the Iranian nuke program, so the country (and the whole Middle East) will live in the shadow of Ahmedinejads bomb. So you should be happy.

Why do you assume that Ahmedinejad and the mullahs share our priorities?

I don't. Read my post more carefully and you'll see we agree on this one.

Designer? Maybe in the nineties!

I wonder what the announcent will be. It's like they're egging on an attempted strike on their facilities.

Bring it on.

“Democracy doesn’t come out of the barrel of a gun.”

...but anti-democracy crackdowns sure do!

kuruspisu is the type that saw the Iranian police and military shooting innocent Iranians in the streets and probably blamed it on Mossad / Israel. It is like a law of avergages on the net. Any more than seven people weighing in on any issue involving Israel and there is always some crank goin off about Mossad.

First you jab them and poke them. Then when they speak angry words, you video tape it as proof of how aggressive they are.

I am not inclined to take the word of the press for anything on this matter. They love war as much as anyone because it sells print. They reach for drama first, and responsibility last.

This may well come to surgical strikes. But I will bear in mind that it was not only Iran that made them necessary. I would launch some surgical strikes on Israel on the same day if I had my way.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

I am impatient for a strike on their facilities. For to long have we appeased the monsters in Iran. The people, although probably not pro-western, are against the religious dictatorship as we saw two years ago, when the uprising was quelled with bloody force.

Israel I'll grant have certain bone-headed responses, notably bombing the sh!t out of the Lebanon a few years ago. Equally unexcusable, but they are retaliations to other equal acts of stupidity.

Asking for parallel surgical strikes on the Jewish state is a tad unwarrented IMO...

Sure they've got the bomb, but they haven't even acknowledged this fact in decades, let alone use it as a tool to menace anyone else...

It appears Muslim leaders are addicted to outrageous "bragging" and they just can't keep their mouth shut when they should, further harming themselfes and their interests, maybe that is a "cultural legacy".
