taking off the hijab, or headscarf, was akin to being naked in public to attract male attention.

This guy has some serious sublimation issues. Sick.

Keeping (the smarter) half of one’s population down is never going to be a long-term strategy for a nation if they wish to compete in the community of nations.

Like the Arab Spring which originated in Tunisia in 2010 and spread across the Arab world, will these protests in Iran continue?

Its not the hijab that is causing the protests it's the way the "moral" police are unaccountable.

The IRGC is using the protests and the fact that the victim was a Kurd as are many of the protesters as a rationale to attack Iranian Kurds who have taken refuge in Iraq.

It is both. Many, maybe most, Iranian women resent having to wear a hijab and many in urban areas will push the rules a bit to allow some hair to flow out. Some also wear clothes that are tighter than their silly rules allow. There is a lot of resentment over these religious rules. The majority of Iranians have grown up after the fall of the Shah and feel no affinity for their government.
