These titles and quotes from French newspapers:

"This time it's war," declared the Le Parisien daily.

Centre-right daily Le Figaro: "War in central Paris. In the name of the true martyrs of yesterday, the innocent victims and in the name of the Republic, France will be able to stay united and stand together," said Le Parisien.

The "terrorist barbarism" has crossed a "historic line," said the head of the left-leaning Liberation daily, calling for France to stay resolute.

"It is impossible not to link these bloody events with the battles raging in the Middle East. France is playing its part there. It must continue to do so without blinking," wrote Laurent Joffrin in an editorial.

You jihadi jerks have finally overstepped your boundaries. When a left-leaning, multicultural beacon such as France is now against you it is only a matter of time before the noose tightens around your collective necks.

Oh dear, now France has an excuse to use its aircraft carrier that is to be deployed next week in the Persian Gulf.

The West had been fumbling around pretending to go after IS; but now that Russia is effectively getting rid of IS in Syria, seems the West is afraid of being left out. Now they have an excuse to jump right back in, hoping to control the outcome. A few days ago, immediately after Israel was awarded a large increase in military aid from the US, they launched an attack into Syria, near Damascus.

I get the feeling they are preparing something big in Syria, and now they happen to have something the will help generate lots of public support...

The Bataclan club was targeted because of the Jewish owners and because they often put on pro-Israel events.By IS logic French Jewish people are like Jews in Israel, and they want to kill them there because they can't go to Israel to kill Jews.

This is the second time this year that Paris has been under siege, following the January attacks on the editorial offices of Charlie Hebdo and a Jewish supermarket. I believe that President Hollande has been a vigorous and courageous European leader in battling Islamic terror, sending French troops to the African country of Mali in 2013 to stop an al Qaeda offensive and French jets to hit ISIS targets in the Middle East.

That may be one reason France is now a target, but there can be no backing down from this fight. What’s ultimately at stake isn’t French policy. It’s France’s freedom—and ours. I believe that the USA and Europe need a resurgence of the will to fight an Islamist enemy that knows no restraint. All the more reason to accelerate the destruction of the IS caliphate before its murderers kill more innocents around the world.

"My brother kept us safe". The soon to be immortal words of Jeb Bush.

It was George W. Bush's poorly advised invasion of Iraq that set ISIS upon the world. Rather than 'keep us safe' GWB opened Pandora's box and changed the face of history in a way not seen since the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.

It was George W. Bush's poorly advised invasion of Iraq that set ISIS upon the world.

If you are going to make that argument, the. You need to equally make the argument that Obama left too soon which gave the rise to ISIS even when Obama was warned of the growing threat and had time to take action, he did nothing and here we are. 7 years and Obama did nothing to stop the growth of ISIS will he referred to as a JV team and said back a few years ago, Al Qaida is on the run and Biden said on Larry King, Iraq will greet us as liberators and it will be a huge success. So we can also and should most definitely give credit to Obama who poorly, very poorly mismanaged and failed to take advised action towards a growing radical jihadist threat.

Rather than 'keep us safe' GWB opened Pandora's box and changed the face of history in a way not seen since the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.

Both him and Obama get credit for that without a doubt.

Lizz

Bataclan owner is not jews. it belong to Lagrdère groupe. Their show has nothing to do with Israel. Little Cambodia restaurant has also been attacked, Do you think they want kill them there because they can't go to Cambodia to kill Cambodian ?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

That is according to a French magazine, but it may have been the previous owners.

stop the blame game!!! it is not george bush or barrack obama or the jews or any other ones faults in this... but evil incarnate and the minions of the whore of babylon. daesh is just an excuse and we must not let them win. strong and resolute vigilance must not waver, specially in this time of horrific sorrow. stop this idiocracy of blame it on the "others". cause... it plays straight into their hands of evil!!!!! they're the mad ones.... stop acting like them... now!!

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Amazing how we forget so quickly. When hearing about this, the first reaction is shock. But then one needs to remember the West's interference in Iraq, Libya, Syria, Afghanistan......the list goes on. And for what? Yeah, yeah, trying to make the world safer but in reality only making it more dangerous. Such attacks are no surprise if you think about it. We need to get over our dependence on oil and leave the Middle East for Middle Eastern countries to fight over. These fanatics are just people who are inspired by the arrogance of the West and our narrow view that we can suddenly change peoples' minds even though there are thousands of years of history behind the animosity.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Personally, I blame radical Islam. But that's just me.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

I hope it makes apostasy more attractive.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The West's dependence on oil has very little to do with the depraved, anti-cultural, anti-liberty, anti-secularism, anti-everything madness that is ISIL.

Western dependence on oil does not explain ISIL's systematic destruction of cultural artifacts and imposition of a barbaric form of Sharia law on any territory it has taken via brutal force, just as oil dependency fails utterly to explain the Taliban's streak of destruction and the virtual enslavement of the people of Afghanistan before the West stepped in.

ISIL, just like the Taliban and others of their bent, are waging a war -- and a decidedly cowardly one, at that -- on the very tenets of civilization and free thought.

Make no mistake, even if the West were to become entirely energy self-sufficient tomorrow, there would STILL be a significant problem with ISIL and the amoral a-holes and murderers that make up its ranks.

Kill them all, to the last man and woman who professes to support ISIL in any form of their insanity. They would do no less to the rest of us, you can be damned sure.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

We allow the enemy to move into our countries, cities and neighborhoods. They study and plot against us. They kill innocent people and think that all of this will go unpunished. Instead of playing nice in the middle east it is now time for all the players with the power to get rid of these pos for good imho.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

So, are we ready to get serious now? Not to sound callous, but 127 dead is nothing compared to the number of Syrians and Iraqis who have died this year alone. Do we actually have the will to do something substantive about ISIS, or are we just going to sit around and drop the occasional airstrike while we expect the Kurds to do all the dirty work for us?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

The best thing the West can do is just stay out of the way and let Russia finish what they started, they are the only ones who seem to know what they're doing. But I am afraid the West will continue to attack IS's enemies and "accidentally" drop supplies/weapons to IS.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

@Doo-Bop You were hesitant to accept that Islamists carried out this atrocity. You didn't have long to wait.

Can I ask again for that link which tells us that the captured IS leaders are not Muslims?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

You were hesitant to accept that Islamists carried out this atrocity. You didn't have long to wait.

I very much expected IS to take credit. I thought I made it clear that I view IS as Islamic in name only, and that their leaders and backers are not Muslim.

As for the link, your on your own, the moderator does not seem to appreciate my discussing certain details. I am sure you can find it; and if you truly are interested, you probably know already.

JoeintokyoNov. 14, 2015 - 10:00PM JST Ah, the West gets so indignant when war comes to their neighborhood

Since when does the west deliberately target civilian noncombatants in noncombat zones?

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Doo-Boop:

" I very much expected IS to take credit. I thought I made it clear that I view IS as Islamic in name only, and that their leaders and backers are not Muslim. "

Oh boy. So can you tell us what they are, if not muslim? And why they only attract muslim followers, including from European countries -- who, according to your theory then proceed to leave islam and join... yes, what exactly?

2 ( +4 / -2 )

WilliB, In every religion, there are members who are mentally challenged and can be convinced to do anything. So yes, they recruit Muslims to do the dirty work or blow themselves up, but the backers and leaders are not Muslim. Some of the leaders might have been born Muslim, but they couldn't care less about the Quran except for how it can be used to recruit useful idiots.

It was George W. Bush's poorly advised invasion of Iraq that set ISIS upon the world.

ISIS was virtually unknown when Bush left office. Obama himself thinks ISIS is the jayvee team thinking that all of terrorism is just Al Qaeda and nothing else. He refuses to accept that what animates Al Qaeda, ISIS, and the rest of this crazies is Islamic extremism. He will not admit this because he is more concerned about stigmatizing Muslims than he is to stopping terrorists.

Obama essentially took his eye off the ball and allowed ISIS to metastasize and replace Al Qaeda while he was running around doing victory laps for killing bin Landen. Even after this second and most horrific attack on Paris you have to hope that Obama will get the message and begin to lead the West in stopping these madmen. Now is no time for leading from behind.

It's always nice to get a glimpse into what the bubble is peddling during big news events. Looks like Wolf has gotten the message and now it's on to message boards to spread it!

It was Obama who pulled out of Iraq against advisement. It was Obama who globaly supported the Arab Spring. And it was Obama who supported the the Syrian civil war. And it was Obama who overlooked ISIS in it infancy until today.

Two weeks ago a passenger airliner crash - ISIS claimed responsibility- under invedstigation.

Yesterday - A horrific attack on innocent people in France. - ISIS claimed, and looking fairly certain.

Tomorrow - any nation, anytime, who knows what could be next.

Blame bush all you want, al Qaida was attacked by Bill Clinton while in office and attacked USA on 9/11. Since then USA was attacked once again in Boston....under Obama.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

War? who are they gonna bomb now? Sadam is dead, so is Khadaffi. Syria is reduced to flat. But your enemies live with you in the same society, in same country, on same soil. Europe is paying dear price for America's "freedom", and its just start.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

"Blame bush all you want..."

OK, I will. Saddam had all the murderous religious sects under complete control under George Bush decided to attack, destabilizing and ruining the entire country, killing 150,000 Iraqis and opening the can of worms Obama is now getting blamed for.

And by the way, Saddam didn't have weapons of mass destruction. So how many young American paid with their lives to support a fantasy dreamed up by Bush and Cheney?

True, Obama dropped the ball. But as for blame, I'd put it 90/10.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

@Doo but the backers and leaders are not Muslim. Some of the leaders might have been born Muslim, but they couldn't care less about the Quran except for how it can be used to recruit useful idiots.

Please explain how you describe 'Muslim'. How do you know they couldn't care less about the Quran? How do you know they aren't justifying their actions based on their interpretation of the Quran?

Blame bush all you want,

Thank you, I will. And I also blame his chicken hawk advisers like Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz and the others who started this mess. That Obama's decisions have made things worse is inarguable, but Bush's decisions are fully deserve primary blame.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

OK, I will. Saddam had all the murderous religious sects under complete control under George Bush decided to attack, destabilizing and ruining the entire country, killing 150,000 Iraqis and opening the can of worms Obama is now getting blamed for.

This is what drives me nuts! I won't quibble if people want to make the argument of Bush going into Iraq, but then you need to fair in your condemnation, how about giving the blame to Clinton, since the decided NOT to kill OBL in 1998, if ANYONE deserves to be blamed, it's him, had that happen, the Iraq war would have never came to fruition. At the same time, if you are not a partisan hack, then you also have to give Obama a lot of the blame for the expansion of ISIS, Obama could have taken military action to put a stop to their Caliphate upon the recommendation of many of his top senior generals, but he refused, dismissing them as a JV team, Not willing to give the Kurds and even the Jordanians the proper weapons they requested to fight the Islamists, He never kept his RED LINE threat promise to oust Assad and told the Russians he must go and now the Russians are in Syria, Assad is still in power and Obama has egg on his face, no one takes this guy seriously and you can see ISIS now growing faster than ever and this is something that had Obama taken seriously could have prevented. That was his mistake, so if you want to blame someone, there is enough blame to go around, but we need to deal with reality and look WHO has been president for the last 7 years and that hasn't been Bush.

And by the way, Saddam didn't have weapons of mass destruction. So how many young American paid with their lives to support a fantasy dreamed up by Bush and Cheney?

And many many, many more, the majority in fact were killed during the sectarian violence, so why NOT have anger, frustration and outrage towards the perpetrators and factions Sunni and Shia that were killing and slaughtering thousands of innocent people?

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

We allow the enemy to move into our countries, cities and neighborhoods. They study and plot against us.

Exactly. This is why Obama / Kerry allowing syrian islamic refugees into the US, by the tens of thousands, is nothing less than pure insanity.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Precisely. So now how do you feel about opening up the flood gates and letting in anyone to come into the country? Now we know for sure ISIS has indeed infiltrated the refugees making it easier for them to hide among us to launch attacks.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Merkel sure opened up the German flood gates. And just like the Paris attacks, it's only a matter of time when a small sleeper cell- just granted asylum- emerge upon another european city to make global headline news.

Letting these people into Europe and North America is nonsense. They need to be redirected back home or into other rich gulf nations where they have a better chance to fit in.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Where is the Muslim refugee advocates, UN Human Right Commissioner, UN Human Right and, International amnesty and other advocates for Muslims when Muslim terrorists murdered innocent civilians? If you're country do not have Muslim population and then do not take Muslims into your country. The more Muslims you take the more problem you have in future. I don't hate Muslims but their culture and religion believe don't compatible with western culture and believe.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

I don't hate Muslims but their culture and religion believe don't compatible with western culture and believe.

Not compatible at all. Back in CA, we once hosted a "Homestay" student from Indonesia. Seemed like spent more time praying and enjoying it, more than all fun places we took her to.

Might as well save the jet-lag and visit Pakistan.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

'And by the way, Saddam didn't have weapons of mass destruction. So how many young American paid with their lives to support a fantasy dreamed up by Bush and Cheney?'

'And many many, many more, the majority in fact were killed during the sectarian violence, so why NOT have anger, frustration and outrage towards the perpetrators and factions Sunni and Shia that were killing and slaughtering thousands of innocent people?'

The murderous sectarianism was predicted by anyone with any knowledge of this area. The US charged into Iraq with next to no planning and executed this war with mind-boggling ineptitude. It was an utter catastrophe.

How about anger and fury at both the idiot warmongers and the vicious lunatics killing each other? As a non-partisan, I'm sure you'd agree both deserve it.

That is no answer. Again, if these "leaders" are not muslim, what are they? And also, why are they only able to recruit muslims to their cause?

The Bataclan club was targeted because of the Jewish owners and because they often put on pro-Israel events.

According to the Times of Israel: "The Bataclan theater, targeted in Friday night’s Paris terror attacks, was Jewish-owned for decades, but was sold two months ago, its former owners said."
