US and French forces, along with Islamic jihadists, are in the area fighting and killing each for the benefit of those who own the oil industries (and of course their financial backers), in battles to secure control over yet another region's resources.

This is definitely not the fault of the front-line soldiers.

This is mostly the fault of their chain of command, from the Commanding General of US Africa Command, GEN Waldhoser, right down to the SFOD Team Leader. Someone there ought to be kicked out of the military with a Dishonorable Discharge, someone at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel thru 4-star General.

Next in line for blame is AFRICOM SOC J-2. Someone there ought to be kicked out of the military with a Dishonorable Discharge, someone at the rank of Colonel or BG..

We lost in Iraq, and we lost in Afghanistan, due to poor generalship.

Anybody care to take a guess at how to fix the problem with c***** Generals ?

If Daesh in Iraq is "Obama's fault" according to his independent and insane Republican followers then these deaths are obviously Trump's fault.

A weak president that doesn't care about the troops. Right?
