not one of them talk about how many of their "moderate" Muslim followers are on their way to ISIS-held areas to wage war against them

The Somme theory of conflict resolution.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

I just don't see how any of these right-wing "solutions" will do anything. Cruz won't be able to explain what he means by "securing Muslim areas in America" and he likes it that way. His real point is to wink to the anti-Muslim crowd to say that he's on their side. We already tried policing Muslim shops/mosques in NYC which lead to exactly 0 arrests and 0 pieces of intelligence. It just doesn't work because it's dumb. Same with carpet bombing.

Trump is is the same boat. We can't ban people from entering if they are from a certain religion or country. We are talking about tens or hundreds of millions of people. And Eruope is showing us that they can just as easily be home grown. It's just a dumb plan.

What GOP supporters like is tough talk, and the tougher the better. And if it's a dumb idea that won't do anything to accomplish our goals they will support it anyway if they like the way it sounds. We need more adult decisions with actual workable ideas.

"That is sick."

Yes , It is. Which is why the Republican Party must be destroyed.

"....blaming Europe for the massive terrorist problem caused directly by the US invasion of Iraq"

Europe had plenty of Muslim terrorism long before the invasion. Google "Khalid Kelkal" and the numerous Palestinian hijackings and cafe bombings throughout the 80s and 90s, and the Munich Olympics.

It doesn't matter what the West does, Islamists will be trying to kill westerners. The operative factor is their growing presence in Europe and the West.

"Funny how both Islamic jihadis and...."independent conservatives"

Very lame. You can make the same comparison with leftists, like the Japanese Red Army. Or any other extremist group.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

@SNSC,

All of your links espouse condemnation of islamoterrorists (stop the presses!!) not one of them talk about how many of their "moderate" Muslim followers are on their way to ISIS-held areas to wage war against them. You'd think they would have a more vested interest in doing what they could (action speaks louder than words) in order to be seen in a more positive light by the non-Muslim world.

The Muslim leaders/talking heads in the links you provided are no better than the politicians (Cameron, Merkel, Obama, etc.) who blow their hot air into microphones about being indignant about the carnage but are not serious about taking steps to eradicate the cancer that is radical Islamic extremists. . . . .

"Why this ISIS exist on earth, really they are not human, they're a bloody cold impocrite, selfish, evil, ugly creatures."

I still haven't heard a convincing argument against the idea that their behaviour is mandated by verses in their holy scriptures which are perfect.

How can infidels who live like animals argue against that? I've heard ISIS claim their behaviour has the creator of the universe, the one true God, on their side. I for one can't claim that.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Brussel should do the revenge just like Paris did, .... Put a bomb every corner of Muslim teritory and blow everyone so they will realized how its hurts to lose a love one.

Why this ISIS exist on earth, really they are not human, they're a bloody cold impocrite, selfish, evil, ugly creatures.

So, what time is the press conference scheduled by "moderate" Muslim organizations to denounce this bastardization of their religion? What? Half past never?

Won't find it on Faux News:

Fox's Monica Crowley: "I Haven't Heard Any Condemnation" Of The Paris Attack From Muslim Groups. While discussing reactions to the Charlie Hebdo attack on the January 7 edition of Fox News' The Real Story, contributor Monica Crowley argued that Muslims "should be condemning" the attack and that she hadn't "heard any condemnation." [Fox News, The Real Story, 1/7/15]

see?

Fox Guest: "You Don't See Denunciations Of Radical Islam ... By Mainstream Islamic Groups." In a discussion of the Paris attack on the January 7 edition of Fox News' America's Newsroom, guest Steve Emerson, executive director of the Investigative Project on Terrorism, claimed that "you don't see denunciations of radical Islam, by name, by mainstream Islamic groups." [Fox News, America's Newsroom, 1/7/15]

told you so!

Fox Host Bob Beckel: Muslim Groups Like CAIR Keep "Their Mouth Shut When Things Happen." While discussing the Charlie Hebdo attack in Paris during January 7 edition of Fox News' The Five, host Bob Beckel criticized Howard Dean for suggesting that the terrorists were like a cult, and claimed that Muslims as a whole are "being quiet." He went on to accuse the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) of keeping "their mouth shut when things happen." [Fox News, The Five, 1/7/15]

but you'll find multiple condemnations for Paris here: http://mediamatters.org/research/2015/01/07/what-fox-wont-show-you-muslim-leaders-are-conde/202049

Muslim condemnations of Brussels attacks (not that you're remotely interested):

Globally: http://www.itv.com/news/update/2016-03-22/muslim-coalition-condemns-brussels-attacks/

Locally: http://www.religionnews.com/2016/03/22/belgian-religious-groups-condemn-brussels-attacks/

And in Louisville, KY: http://www.courier-journal.com/story/news/local/2016/03/22/louisville-muslims-speak-out-brussels-attack/82128032/

Y'all have a nice day, d'ya hear?

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Perhaps Belgium, together with France, can wipe out ISIS so Trump, er, Clinton won't have to.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

"So, what time is the press conference scheduled by "moderate" Muslim organizations to denounce this bastardization of their religion? What? Half past never?"

I'd like to see it scheduled sometime before the trial of a cross-eyed warmongering idiot and a slimy lawyer turned politician for war crimes.

I'd take a day off work to watch both.

Burn candles and place flowers on street corners

Because refusing to hate really annoys neanderthals, whatever their hue.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

And the next time this happens, the globalist PC Brigade knows exactly what to do to combat Islamic terrorist scum and their legions of supporters:

Burn candles and place flowers on street corners;

Light up buildings in the national colors of whatever country's attacked;

Fill Twitter with hashtags and sad cartoons;

And most importantly: Tell people to embrace multiculturalism.

That's what they'll do, 'cause it's what they've done each and every time, and it's working just great so far. . . .

These beliefs were not created by foreign intervention

Nor were they weakened by it, Jimizo. Quite the opposite.

Factor in what one intelligence expert writing in HuffPo describes as "a monumental ($100BN) campaign to bulldoze the more moderate strains of Islam, and replace them with the theo-fascist Saudi variety," and extremism takes hold. $100BN goes a long way in regions devoid of JeffLee's "freedom, high tech, affluence and progressive thinking."

When religions are challenged, adherence increases. And when the challenge recedes, the faithful lapse.

But peace threatens the military-industrial complex and its attendant securitocracies, junkies for the buzz of new threats, bigger budgets, playing masters of the universe. And so tinder ignites, hither and thither.

Decent citizens' pocketbooks are plundered, their intelligence insulted by euphemisms for the morally reprehensible: enhanced interrogation, protective custody, softening up, surgical strikes.

That's the way the money flows. Pop goes the weasel.

The countries of Europe believe in human rights so they have all abolished capital punishment.

These IS zealots do not believe in human rights, but they will sleep easily knowing that they can kill with freedom in Europe and even if caught they will never face the death penalty.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Its really strange that Islamist radicals & terrorists (IS) have declared war on Western countries and kept bombing and beheading, and we have talking heads still saying let's talk more, as if these cruel blood thirsty people & supporters are reasoning people.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

ISIS is Saudi made.Prince Bandar bin Sultan, former Saudi ambassador to USA for more than 20 years, and God father of Gulf war1.2.3,He is the Mastermind who paid a secret visit at the beginning of Syria crisis,to Bakistan to ask Pakistani military intelligence to allow thousands of Jihadists to move to Syria via Turkey to fight and step down Al Assad.More over the well organized attack on iRAQI highly secured prisons to free most top dangerous jihadist prisoners, was the the beginning of ISIS.Ardogan supported, armed, and backed, while Saudia Arabia paid loads of cash.Neither they succeeded to step down or defeat ASSAD,nor stopped IRAN dominance, but only export terrorism to Europe and countries around like Egypt,Tunisia, even Turkey, and am sure soon Saudia will pay high price for this. Finally i would remind that Prince Bandar was removed from his position as director of Saudi intelligence-up to his failing,Which was under American pressure.Prince of Qatar was pushed to retire with his cabinet, his son became new governor, this was also because of Qatar role in Syria crisis and backing extremist groups. Here by Europe paid, pays and will pay the price of their military intervention in Lybia.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Few ideas:

1) Stop 'refugees' flood to Europe. It's just ridiculous at this point. 2) Improve intelligence in muslim communities. 3) Expatriate those who even remotely protect hate preachers and terrorists. 4) Stop accommodate muslims with exemptions (see work and education). They must adapt, not the West.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Maybe it's time for Europe to send in their troops instead of holding back

1 ( +3 / -2 )

@Sensenotsocommon

All of what you mentioned is true. The west has been guilty of despicable behaviour in these areas.

Here's what you are not mentioning:

Attitudes regarding the sanctity of human life and that all should be treated as equal are important. Revolting attitudes towards apostates ( death as punishment ) are rife in many middle eastern countries. Believing infidels to be at the level of animals is widespread. Belief in jihad as a military struggle is not uncommon. Belief that religious law should be the law of the land is terrifyingly common, even in our own UK. Treating women as a lower order is pretty much the norm in many of these societies. As for treatment of homosexuals, I don't think I need to spell it out.

These beliefs were not created by foreign intervention. This is fertile ground for those looking to recruit those willing to carry out appalling offences to the idea of the sanctity of human life. Thankfully, the vast majority don't carry out such filth but these ideas, many of them very common, are very dangerous.

There is a terrible problem here.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

"What are you pretending not to know: That a quarter of our planet's population is muslim?"

Indeed, gotta love the Islamic world, and I mean ALL of it, from Aceh to Pakistan to Yemen to Rotherham. A real bastion of Sharia-inspired freedom, high tech, affluence and progressive thinking. A liberal's dream!

4 ( +8 / -4 )

confused and ignorant hypocrites

What are you pretending not to know:

That a quarter of our planet's population is muslim?

That we conveniently turn a blind eye to the House of Saud's multi billion-dollar proselytising of that faith's most rabidly intolerant creed at the oft bloody expense of moderate and dissenting muslims?

Or how young muslims (less than ecstatic about Abu [stuff happens!] Ghraib, collateral damage, drone strikes, extraordinary rendition, Gitmo, Mission Accomplished! and a See no Evil, Hear no Evil, Speak no Evil attitude on Palestine by NATO and Friends™) are groomed by the Saudis' proxy weapon, ISIS?

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

We already know what they want. Talking is not on their agenda.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

@JeffLee

This is part of the problem. The left, and I regard myself as further left than most, will quite happily go to town criticizing the primitive religious beliefs of other faiths ( notably fundamentalist Christianity ) but then clam up when the subject of Islam comes up. Many get defensive and start calling you 'Islamaphobic' for pointing out things they were ripping the Christians for in a previous sentence. This is the hypocrisy which annoys me.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

"The right loves these things."

I'm center to left, like Bill Maher. Check my posts on other topics. I stand up for liberal values. Liberals who defend Islam, the most reactionary mainstream ideology around, are confused and ignorant hypocrites.

"Maybe we need to talk more with the people behind all this and find out what they want?"

You go first. Don't lose your head.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

These extreme evil terrorists are blinded to immediate death, but will still want to avoid prolonged pain & suffering themselves. So torture may just work. Gangsters are not afraid of jail, but caning. Same principle.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Maybe we need to talk more with the people behind all this and find out what they want?

Steady on, old bean!

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

I have been studying the spread of these suicide bombing attacks for several years. It seemed obvious that they would reach western countries. The bombs do not not have to be very sophisticated and while planning is necessary all is really needed is a brainwashed person who is promised "eternal life" for attacking "infidels".There has always been a steady stream of willing bombers in Israel, Iraq, Afghanistan and many other places. Realistically we can expect a lot more attacks like this they are virtually impossible to defend against. Maybe we need to talk more with the people behind all this and find out what they want?

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

I think IS is on the decline overall. Most of the members will be disposed of fortunately.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Since I believe in GOD and GOD IS LOVE....I have much hope for peace. Well, if these angry people had LOVE in their hearts, they would have been so CONCERNED and SYMPATHETIC with the victims and their families...and if that was the case, they wouldn't have done anything like this!

If the leaders of the world had love in their hearts, they would have so concerned and sympathetic and would have put this problem as one of the top priorities to be solved!

Of course it is all CONDITIONALS...If................it would...............but it is not impossible! So my prayers are for all us..to be able to SHARE LOVE and BE LOVED...

-4 ( +1 / -4 )

We DON'T need VIOLENCE! We NEED LOVE! SYMPATHY and CONCERN! then it will LEAD to PEACE!

What are the profit projections from love, sympathy and concern?

0 ( +2 / -2 )

What kind of world do we live in now? :( :( :( A CRUEL and BRUTAL world! It is a scary world! I suppose. It is unbelievable that there have been many attacks happening now!

May they all rest in peace those who have died and may all their bereaved family find relieve. :(

This TERRORISM disease has been going on for years even contagious in so many ways and the leaders of the world have been so unwilling to put serious concern and do something about it. Instead, they are focusing on their personal interests...DO SOMETHING PLEASE! WAKE UP!

There must a way to eliminate this! Please let us not wait for the time when we are unable to do something because we are all scared and dead by heart!

We DON'T need VIOLENCE! We NEED LOVE! SYMPATHY and CONCERN! then it will LEAD to PEACE!

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Well we know of one now in Brussels

is it a no-go area?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

"Republican voters didn’t flock to Trump after the Paris attacks because they trusted his leadership; they flocked to him because he leveraged the attacks into a larger anti-Muslim message that attracted the substantial portion of Republican primary voters with strong anti-Muslim views and deep concern over immigration."

Good for Trump!

1 ( +6 / -5 )

In police raids Tuesday across Belgium, authorities later found a nail-filled bomb, chemical products and an Islamic State flag in a house in the Schaerbeek neighborhood, the state prosecutors’ office said in a statement.

Which means they already knew of these places well ahead of time. What were they waiting for, an attack?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

France has given up her colonies in NW Africa, as well as Britain

Really Alphaape, google "14 African Countries Forced by France to Pay Colonial Tax" and what do you think the commonwealth is all about.

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

Trump just became the next president of the United States.

Anyone remember this from a few weeks ago:

Media: Why do they Muslims) do this? Trump: Because they hate us. Media: racist, Bigot

That about sums it up from the last supposed controversy made up about Trump being a racist and anti Muslim. Someone please explain to me how a country like Belgium, who has no standing military in the Middle East, who accommodates Muslims so much that there are large ethnic communities in the country, and they give out generous welfare to those who need it. Yet they are hated. I guess ISIS is just giving back to them what the Belgians did to the Congo a long time ago.

and where exactly are these no-go areas the far right is so enamoured of?

Well we know of one now in Brussels where the Paris attack planner was found. Need I also point out to you a few years ago when Paris was burning due to the disenfranchised youth who were burning cars and rioting, and where the initial search for the Paris attackers occurred in areas right outside of Paris. One can easily do a search and find stories on these places.

1 ( +7 / -6 )

Obviously, any attack is a good chance to run war profiteers to the fore.

Good stock picks fuel the wisdom of slaughter.

Too bad it is innocent children who pay for the profits Donald J. Trump's parasites.

When the dead are dragged into the street, it won't be the guilty alone. But that;s isn't interesting to those who sit in comfortable chairs demanding slaughter at any cost.

-3 ( +4 / -7 )

Trump just became the next president of the United States.

1 ( +9 / -8 )

neighborhoods where the Muslims congregated and law enforcement didn't venture into because of fear

and where exactly are these no-go areas the far right is so enamoured of?

-4 ( +5 / -9 )

How foolish MSM talkers or the EU politicians have become when taking any proper action proposed against the roots of Islamist terrorism is viewed as "anti-foreigner demagoguery"? MSM opinion makers and EU politicians are still at just the "all talk" only phase. It's so sad and disgusting. Wait until one of your family members are bombed or beheaded? Has Merkel lost her head?

1 ( +5 / -4 )

Belgium, authorities later found a nail-filled bomb, chemical products and an Islamic State flag in a house in the Schaerbeek neighborhood,

After the attacks in Paris, when people posted here on JT that there were neighborhoods where the Muslims congregated and law enforcement didn't venture into because of fear, they would get the usual down votes and response to their posts as being typical far right fear mongering and that there are no such places. Well, a few days ago one of the planners for the Paris attacks was caught in his old neighborhood in Brussels, one of these types of places where the Belgium authorities had been searching for him, basically hiding in plain sight. Again, the obvious answer is right in front of their faces, yet they will do nothing and try to come up with some other reasons why this occurred. When the reason is quite obvious, they practice a form of Islam that calls for this violence. If they want to do so, they should round them up, and send them back to the areas in the world where they can practice their religion however they want. What gives them the right to come into another area, where the rest of the world doesn't practice it and blow up innocents? Last time I checked, Belgium isn't in the forefront of sending troops and military equipment attacking Islamic countries. As a matter of fact, the wars being fought in Islamic countries now are Muslim vs. Muslim.

France has given up her colonies in NW Africa, as well as Britain and the rest of the world. Go back to your lands where if you don't want to interact with the rest of the world you can do so. But don't get mad when the rest of the world moves into the 21st century, and you decide to stick with the 11th century.

3 ( +11 / -8 )

If the imams continue to preach intolerance

You're confusing Iran Shia with Sunni ISIS. Kind of important.

6 ( +10 / -4 )

"The mainstream media is disgusting." - comments

If the truth one seeks is beyond the facts of slaughter, they are subject of faith and superstition.

Neither will inform to prevent the deaths on innocent people.

The mind of man is long past ghosts and vapors of the grave.

Look to see me no more the condemnation of the eye witnesses and those who have lost their children.

Blaming the mechanism that transmits those horrors leaves one free to create their own.

Good luck and work hard.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Cheers to another selective mourning. The mainstream media is disgusting.

-7 ( +5 / -12 )

"Worship whatever you want, just respect others and live a good life and don't impose your belief on others." - comments

The voice of reason, cheers.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

I am not spiritual yet I think religeon helps many who may need the support of faith. It's my choice that I don't and when personal tragedy hits if I were a believer I could find comfort at times. My view....Worship whatever you want, just respect others and live a good life and don't impose your belief on others.

3 ( +7 / -5 )

Radical Muslim groups like ISIS really believe that if they die fighting the infidel, they will go straight to heaven to have eternal sex with 70 virgins. That's the only way you could convince some impressionable idiots to blow themselves up.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

We live in a time where nearly ever single person has access to the collective knowledge of our species at nearly all times, yet for some reason many continue on a path that leads to nothing but division, oppression and all to often death.

Religion, and I don't care which one, can not be the basis for law and governance if our species is to continue forward, right now we seem to be slipping back into near celebration of ignorance, hatred and division all around.

Sure right now there is one that is more easy to single out, and perhaps more immediately dangerous but lets not forget the effect the same kind of thinking has in other places based in other religions on peoples rights, laws about the environment and nearly every aspect you can think of, and they are often demonstrably incorrect on the facts.

The answer is not to battle one with another, but abandon them all, they are the hangover of a pre-enlightened time.

Religious people, believe what you like but stay the %^$# out of everyone else's lives, because remember it seems all well and good while your chosen religion has the power but I can assure you it won't feel the same if another one does.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Can you feel it? The right loves these things.

They love it when innocent people are killed by terrorists. That way, the righties can jump, and stamp and froth and gnash.

Ghoulish clowns.

-3 ( +11 / -14 )

@gaijinpapa.....many terrorists are educated with money making potential intead they use their knowledge to destroy. You also say Islam is a religeon of peace...not all Muslims believe that. And yes, no Muslim shares the guilt of the terrorists unless they preach hate, shelter or knowingly assist in the murderers.

3 ( +9 / -6 )

And Europe continues to let them in....

10 ( +19 / -9 )

How many more innocent people will die as a result of the ISIS cancer? The West will never accept sharia law, if the lunatic islamics think its possible they are sadly mistaken. If the imams continue to preach intolerance they too are sadly mistaken.

Not much in my life I hate. ISIS I hate. No good comes from this vile sect. Not a single positive!

8 ( +14 / -6 )

They emphasized that Europe must remain tolerant to Muslims as they seek to identify the Islamic State needles in that ever-growing haystack."

Laugh or cry- your choice!

WIt for the response.l

Remember that Islam is a religion of peace Muslims will start screaming in the media that they are afraid of a backlash The real problem is that Muslim youth need more money, better jobs and for people to welcome them and understand them.

I will be attacked for stating the obvious. But I'm only surprised that political leaders were surprised. There will be similar attacks this year and next year - anywhere there are significant adherents to the religion of peace.

Those who do t agree can google Mollenbeek and go live there.

2 ( +11 / -9 )

Whether communities in Europe accept the fact or not we are at war.

Muslim's have to cooperate with state security services and report these “preachers of hate” that fester inside mosques and schools. The 26 European countries that make up the Schengen Area have to except that stringent boarder controls must be reinstated. All migrants must be accounted for, reports have stated that Salah Abdeslam the Paris attack mastermind hid amongst migrant groups.

“In this time of tragedy, this black moment for our country, I appeal to everyone to remain calm but also to show solidarity,” said Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel - Leaders of the 28-nation bloc said in a joint statement that Tuesday’s assault on Brussels “only strengthens our resolve to defend European values and tolerance from the attacks of the intolerant.” - article

Reason, planning and resolve.

The deaths of Belgium prove the useless dictum of hate is the most destructive force in the human being.

As at Paris, these murders are nothing but the insane.

Following in their path is the destruction they have designed and demanded for all civilized nations, and that is unacceptable.
