Isaac and Ismail had a common primordial father – Avraham, or Abraham, or Ibrahim. The prevailing and rooted narrative/myth that claims that one nation is native/indigenous and the other nation is a stranger colonialist is historically twisted and wrong, and does not apply. Among other fallacies, this narrative/myth ignores the fact that millions from one of the two nations were exterminated systematically in the 1940s. Besides, at least half of the world consists of nations that are colonialist indeed. Nearly all the population of this planet are descendants of immigrants. Nobody proposes to slaughter all these nations using cannibalistic methods, or to uproot them. The reality is very simple: There are TWO nations between the river and the sea, namely the Arabic Palestinian nation and the Israeli Jewish nation. BOTH nations deserve to live and to exist. The catastrophic fact that these two nations do not coexist in cooperation, mutual prosperity, happiness and fraternity, already since the 1940s, is one ugly manifestation of the unlimited narrow-mindedness, cruelty and stupidity of the human race.

You have to be quick to get in a comment on any Gaza related articles on JT right now, seems they get closed for discussion within minutes of being posted. You have to wonder why that is?

I want to say that Trump's request of Jordan and Egypt to take Palestinians, and the suggestion that they may not be allowed to return and Gaza is cleared out, is one of the most shocking things I have ever heard a world leader say. It couldn't be any more appalling.

That's their homeland, that's where they belong and just because Israel has turned it into rubble doesn't change any of that.

Israel and the US should foot the bill to reconstruct Gaza. Donald Trump should make an announcement that he is going to provide equal sum to the profits the US made in the sale of arms to Israel as they turned Gaza to rubble, and use that to fund the reconstruction.

That would be a fairer response, though it doesn't bring back the 50,000 odd thousand dead Palestinians killed by US munitions.

They expected to find their former homes but were destroyed by the IDF. What next? What is the Israeli and American end plan?

4 ( +7 / -3 )

Wallace...the world knows the "end plan "

It is a "greater Israel "

Why we passively allow this is the question to ask

Here is an interesting post I saw on Reddit that shows the extent to which the IOF has been trying to make Northern Gaza unliveable.

Sorry for what your Hamas “leaders” got you into. It is terrible.

yup.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

What Israel did in Gaza, and still doing in Lebanon and West Bank, with the help of the previous and current US administration, is a  “blight on the conscience of humanity.”

Hercobolus...above...look at all the IDF operations before Hamas attack....in Gaza.

BTselem , Israeli group keeps records. Tens of thousands killed before Oct 7 war.

One example...

"Operation Cast Lead "

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Here,s some more "Operations " since 2006

Operation First Rain , then "Summer Rain ",, then "Autumn Clouds "

All military operations into Gaza that killed civilians in the thousands.

How sinister and max.Orwellian are these names of IDF offences.

1982..."Operation Peace for the Galilee "...Israel invades Lebanon.

2006...Another invasion of Lebanon and the siege on Gaza begins in full strength.

2008 "Operation Cast Lead "...IDF campaign in Gaza.

2012 Operation "Pillars of Clouds " into Gaza.

2014.Operation "Protective Edge " into Gaza.

Can commentators NOW stop asserting the Oct7 attack by Hamas precipitated the entire Israel response.

POTUS can say "Send the Palestinians to Jordan and Egypt, just clean the place out " and this is simply repeated and reported....

But when I write, rhetorically, "Send the Israeli Jews back to Europe " the comment is deleted.

The Palestinians can stay in Jordan and Egypt temporarily and safely, in order to return after their homes are rebuilt. If the Israeli Jews are sent to Europe, as you want and as you propose, they will be murdered there in gas chambers, as well as using other cruel methods, as already happened in the 1940s.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

Israel like previously, will never allow leaving Palestinians to return.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

NB...when did Israel last allow any "return of refugees " ?

That issue is a central hold up to all dialogue.

The other two issues are 1/status of Jerusalem and 2/ land borders for a Palestinian state.

BTW I think Jews are safe in Europe at present and the future, as it should be.

PERFECT,

This is what absolute Victory looks like, Bibi !!

Mr. Sinwar must be smiling in his grave.

> If the Israeli Jews are sent to Europe..

The usual paid and stale propaganda from the Netanyahu’s regime, which is frankly getting stale and absurd and farcical (to say the least) to believe.

A bit of reality check: Gaza death toll 40% higher than official number, Lancet study finds

This should mark the beginning of the end of Bibi and his Zionist ideology. Palestinians have been forced out of their Homes and Land time after time for over 77 years by the Zionist Thugs. This time is different simply because they put up a fight and refused to surrender.

Beautiful and Historical photo's thank you for sharing JT.

There is no beauty in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. This is a cruel, stupid and mainly redundant conflict. The two nations could have lived excellent life together in two states (one of them mixed) since long ago. Why glorifying such a conflict? Why cuddling with such photos? Why embracing death, Jihad, and silly martyrdom?

Hundreds of thousands are on the march without water, food, shelter, and toilets heading home to destroyed communities.

More than 100,000 emergency tents are needed now.

NB;

There are TWO nations between the river and the sea, namely the Arabic Palestinian nation and the Israeli Jewish nation.

Totally misleading statement. The UN resolution 181 talks about "two Palestinian peoples throughout the Holy Land". The "two people" refers to the Jews and muslim Arabs, both living in the "Holy Land". Which is not just todays Israel, but the whole area of Palestine, including today's Syria and Jordan. The UN correctly included the resident Jews as "Palestinian people", since they were obviously living the area of Palestine (which never was an independent nation).

It is only islamist propaganda that invented a "Palestinian nation" consisting of only muslim Arabs supposed to exist in what today is Israel.

People really should read up on history.

As well as UN resolution 181, another UN Resolution, number 242, requires Israel to withdraw from the borders of territories occupied before 1967 in exchange for lasting peace in the area.

Israel has built about 160 settlements housing some 700,000 Jews since it occupied the West Bank in the 1967 Middle East war. The settlements are considered illegal under international law,

According to the Israeli anti-settlement group Peace Now, in 2024 settlers also established 59 new outposts, without authorization from the Israeli government. That was more than double the number from the previous year – which was also a record year for settlement outpost establishment.

As for today the questions is: why is Israel's protracted impunity tolerated?

The West makes a big deal of the fact that it is morally virtuous, look at the Ukrainian conflict, but to me it looks like hypocrisy in the extreme.

I was musing on the concept of "No Palestinian nation " ...actually ancient Romans gave the name "Palestina " and thought of all the areas that are known in Australia, with differences, even identities, without being formal nations separate within one Australia.

For example, "North Coast. ..West Coast " "Barossa Valley " "Kakadu " "Arnhem Land " etc.

No one denies these areas exist, nor denies people live in them and probably have lifestyles differences ,language and racial differences even.

IF Palestine was never a seperate nation, that is irrelevant ....it is/was and will always be a region inhabited by Palestinian people.....from ancient Roman times apparently.

These puerile attempts to deny agency to a people with a post 2000 year history are offensive to me and seek to advantage one group , a relative newcomer, over the original people.

These puerile attempts to deny agency to a people with a post 2000 year history

The Arabs arrived to the land in the 7th century AD, within the framework of the Arab/Muslim conquest of the entire Middle East. This conquest went as far as the Iberian Peninsula. Interestingly, there has been cooperation between Jews and Muslims, in the Iberian peninsula, and also in the pertinent land (the land of origin of the Jews), wherein the cooperated against the crusaders. The Mosque in Jerusalem with the golden cap, agjacent to the al Aqsa mosque, is called Beit el Makdas in Arabic, after the ancient Jewish Beit Hamikdash which used to reside in the same place.

Both the Palestinian Arabs and the Israeli Jews have roots in the land, which has become the land of TWO peoples.
