Seavey, Since Israel is helpful enough to police the border between Egypt and Palestine

? The article is talking about the Israel-Egypt border. Guys like you are supposed to ignore the Egypt-Palestine border issues since it shows your hypocrisy, or did you forget?

Israel still controls the Egypt/Gaza border, as well as the sea border and the skies. Yet some people claim Israel no longer occupies Gaza!

Until Israel stops occupying Gaza there can never be peace. Its natural and expected for people so oppressed to fight back. Yet, some voice surprise at this!

I'd love to see Gaza free too, but I can guarantee you that won't bring peace as far as Hamas is concerned.

Israel is part of the international community, and as such it can be pressured into making decisions like everyone else. And as long as the Palestinians choose terrorism as their chief negotiating tool, the world really isn't going to choose to do much of anything to Israel. If the Palestinains should wise up and reject violence and engage in dialogue then the world would be able to put immense pressure on Israel to reciprocate. But idiots love trotting out the "no peace" angle which is really a way of saying "constant war.". You'd think that ater 60 years of that policy and seeing how Israel is prosperous and Gaza is an armpit that some people would realize that violence is not the solution, but some heads really are that thick.

I'm reminded of a scene early in one of Tom Clancy's books, "The Sum of All Fears". A group of unarmed Palestinian protesters are staging a sit-in and an Israeli police officer is videotaped as he draws his weapon and shoots one of the protesters dead. As U.S. officials view the video, one character asks, "What was that we just saw?" and another replies, "The death of Israel." He wasn't talking about a resulting Palestinian reprisal, he was talking about international support for Israel evaporating.

Palestine would garner so much more support than they have if they'd just stop with the shellings, the incursions, and the killings and just concentrate on peaceful protests regarding the Israeli settlements. Israel would invariably pull a stupid stunt like what was described in Clancy's book, and Israel would quickly find itself isolated similar to what Syria is feeling right now.

Yep. Yet the Palestinian militants constantly choose crude rockets over international pressure. Why? Probably because they know nothing but violence and receive support from the "no peace" crowd.
