The usual pattern. The media write nothing about Hamas attacks, but once Israel responds, it is a story. So predictable.

I read about Hamas attacks in the media.

Who is telling you they write nothing about it?

True, these terrorists have to finally realize that, if you kick a tiger in the butt, you better have a plan on how to deal with its teeth. They don't seem to have that yet. All they have are brainwashed young men who are willing to sacrifice themselves in a futile gesture.

Usual liberal response:

It was just fire balloons, why did those Israeli meanies have to retaliate....

4 ( +12 / -8 )

Incendiary devices? Balloons. Can’t the “Iron dome system” deal with that?

Ah oh, that youth has a slingshot…definitely a terrorist, drop him before he overruns our illegal occupation and escapes from his ghetto. Next thing you know those people will try to stay in houses their family have lived in for generations. It’s Poland all over again.

Answer: No.

You are welcome.

3 ( +10 / -7 )

More importantly shouldn’t have to deal with it.

just stop doing it and there is no response to it.

I read about Hamas attacks in the media.

Really? Can you point to where JT or other media you read wrote about the recent arson attacks by Hamas before Israel responded? Would be nice to see. Thanks.

IDF fighter jets struck a Hamas military compound used for manufacturing weapons and training as well as an entrance to a terror tunnel adjacent to Jabalia," a statement from the Israeli army said.

Why do we only get the Israeli army version of events. They don't have a very good record for truth or accuracy.

@Zaphod

You moved the goalposts from “The media write nothing about Hamas attacks, but once Israel responds” to “Can you point to where JT or other media you read wrote about the recent arson attacks by Hamas before Israel responded?”

Not arguing in good faith. Egregiously shifting from a general to a specific. Not how it’s done.

Anyway, I often read the BBC:

Hamas rocket fire a war crime, Human Rights Watch says https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-58183968

Exactly, not surprised either.

Incendiary balloons, slingshots, or rabid dogs. Israel has a right to protect itself. If the clowns doing these unlawful terrorist attacks would only sweep their streets, perhaps things would change.

Love and long live Israel. Never forget. Shalom

So if Hamas doesn't send "fire balloons" into Israel, things for the Palestinians in Gaza will improve? They won't need to dig "terror tunnels" in order to gain access outside their open air prison? Lets face it, Israel doesn't plan on changing anything regardless of what Hamas or the Palestinians in Gaza do.

This is all just well-timed propaganda aimed at the American public. "US targets ISIS-K with drone strikes" and "Israel Strikes Gaza" Many ignorant Americans will interpret these two events as the same "anti-terror" strikes, while there is a significant difference between these two groups. One group killed over a hundred innocent people in a suicide bombing, the other just caused to some inconvenience.

Jimizo's attempts to argue logically with people who do not have any acquaintance with the term and think in soundbites and hyperbolic terms downloaded from certain echo chambers is heroic?;saintly? to behold

Thought when Netanyahu was ousted we'd get someone in with some common sense, sadly it's not to be

4 ( +5 / -1 )

@Mr Kipling. Fully agree. The Israeli army sometimes shoots and kills young Palestinians throwing stones and demonstrating against illegal settlements in occupied territtories. Never believe the Israeli narrative. It is all state-sponsored propaganda.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

It won’t get worse.

So if Hamas doesn't send "fire balloons" into Israel, things for the Palestinians in Gaza will improve?

4 ( +6 / -2 )

So, the Israeli regime with all the delicacy of the state troopers at the Edmund Pettus Bridge attacked demonstrators demanding the same thing those demonstrators wanted, and because they fought back, took to the skies to bomb civilians, but somehow that's the fault of the demonstrators in the 'official' narrative.

That it's going to take decades for the ICC to work its way down the gruesome list of war crimes by the Israeli regime to get caught up to the ones committed yesterday doesn't transfer the guilt from them, nor the shame that the editors should feel for the way they've approved the article.

The Palestinians in Gaza have the right to fight for their freedom from the terrorist Israeli government. When Israel stop's the illegal imprisonment they wont have to defend against balloons and slingshots and burning tires.

It is called cause and effect and the cause is Israeli actions for decades of oppression and other crimes against humanity.

I don't understand. I often see the words "Palestinian" and "genocide" put together. Yet the population of Gaza is one of the fastest growing in the world! We are now on our 4th generation of refugees, each getting larger and larger. I guess the Israelis are just poor at genocide...

The Palestinians just have to accept the simple fact that there is nowhere for them to "return" to. That ship has sailed. Five wars and 60 plus years later, it is time to move on. Build a country in Gaza, stop using aid money to fund terrorism and terrorist groups, and join the community of nations.

Hamas and Israel then fought a devastating 11-day conflict in May, the worst between the two sides in years, which ended with an informal truce.

At least 260 Palestinians were killed during May’s Hamas-Israel war, including 67 children and 39 women, according to the Gaza health ministry. Hamas has acknowledged the deaths of 80 militants. Twelve civilians, including two children, were killed in Israel, along with one soldier.

I can’t think of one example off the top of my head. You must have a few for us.

I find the claim ‘The MSM doesn’t cover...’ when it does to be extremely common.

I’m genuinely interested in who is telling them this, and why they don’t bother to check it with a quick google search. They must be unbelievably trusting of the alternative media they read. I find this kind of trust a bit disturbing.

You could almost call it sheep-like.

Ok, so we should the world of Hamas? I’m seriously trying to keep a straight face.

Some folks point out how unreliable the narrative promoted by the last surviving Apartheid regime is.

Some folks scorn the narrative of the organization fighting back against the violence of the Israeli regime.

What is interesting is that second group also heap scorn on the narrative of human rights organizations (PCHRGAZA, B'Tselem) human rights activists (Desmond Tutu, Zeid Ra'ad al Hussein) and the court of International Law and Human Rights (The ICC)

So pick whichever narrative you wish, but notice what their motivation is.

Slingshots vs Fighter Jets

Not a fair match….

Jimizo: "I find the claim ‘The MSM doesn’t cover...’ when it does to be extremely common."

It seems to be YOU who are being disingenuous. That's not all the OP wrote, and unless you are unfamiliar with English terms of CHRONOLOGY, then you are purposely misunderstanding the claims OP made.

"The media write nothing about Hamas attacks...BUT ONCE Israel responds, it is a story."

This is absolutely fact. Only in Israeli news sources are the almost daily terrorist attacks, fire, balloon bomb, suicidal knifings and car-rammings broadcast with such enthusiasm like the news above. Suddenly, Israel responds, and it's the whole "Innocent David ATTACKED By Mechanized Goliath" trope all over again, in ALL MEDIA SOURCES.

YOU are not arguing in good faith unless you can provide ample/equal coverage of Palestinian attacks like we can find stories about the IDF "attacking" the Palestinians (not "responding to" mind you). You cannot, obviously, so we'll let that embarrassment stand on its own.
