the world should impose a one-state solution.

It's called Israel.

Supporting Israel is NOT in the interest of the American people.

I see, sabi only cares about appeasing the oil producers who hate Israel. Sabi doesn't care about the Palestinians. Israel has the right to build wherever they want.

Israel has done nothing but drag the US down for decades, and destroyed its image in so many ways

Oh no, someone doesn't agree with us!

Zionists were allowed to settle in Palestine with the specific agreement that the rights and interests of the native Palestinian population would not be compromised in any way. They then used brutal force to expel a large part of the Palestinians from their land. International law, a number of U.N. resolutions, and common sense tell us that the Palestinian refugees must be allowed to return to their homes, villages, and land that were stolen from them.

Even today, Israel is illegal building settlements on land which the entire world clearly says belongs to the Palestinians.

The only viable solution, and the only solution the United States should promote, is a non-racist democratic state in the whole of historic Palestine in which Muslims, Jews, and Christians are all allowed to live as equals under the law. The Israelis do not seem to be willing to accept a two state solution, so the world should impose a one-state solution.

Once again, cut off ALL support and aid to Israel, immediately, and you can watch them scramble out of the settlement deal in less than a week.

Israel has done nothing but drag the US down for decades, and destroyed its image in so many ways it's unbelievable, and now they are shoving the faces of the US people in the mud and spitting on them. Get rid of them until they agree to what the US suggests. All these Republicans always talk about playing hardball while in reality they are just bending over and grabbing their ankles for an 'ally' that couldn't care less about anything than the aid they get. So, put your money where your mouth is.

The White House had no immediate comment on what was discussed.

Hopefully the destruction of Iran's nuclear facilities.

sabi: Supporting Israel is NOT in the interest of the American people.

Sure it is. Having a nuclear-armed ally in the middle of the Muslim Arab world is a good thing.

"Tensions between the U.S. and it main Mideast ally were palpable on Monday when Netanyahu abruptly rescheduled the venue and format of a meeting with Clinton. Instead of seeing her before photographers at the State Department, Netanyahu had Clinton come to his hotel suite for a private, one-on-one talk without aides present, U.S. officials said."

Clearly Clinton should have refused to visit the room of an arrogant prime-minister of an insignificant pariah state. I think the US (and others) would get more respect if they cut all ties with this historically troublesome diaspora.

Palestinians claim east Jerusalem as the capital of a future state...

It is not only a Palestinian claim. Why can't AP ever mention that according to international law and the entire world East Jerusalem, Gaza, and the West Bank belongs to the Palestinians. Israel has absolutely no business there. The only ones making an "unreasonable and illogical demand” is Israel.

Israel can go to hell. Most people I know believe Israel has worn out the welcome mat and are actively boycotting the state and its products/services.

"Nearly 500,000 Jews live in more than 100 settlements built since Israel's 1967 occupation of the West Bank and East Jerusalem. They are considered illegal under international law" (BBC News)

Congress SHOULD represent the people, but instead they represent AIPAC. Supporting Israel is NOT in the interest of the American people.

I do not agree but we must only woo the State of Israel with UN or United Nations on defense of Israel or State of Israel. The US or United States must defence Israel and its nationalities from every or all negativities this beleagured country is affecting

Makes you wonder what these two and Nancy Pelosi are getting from Israel.

Indeed. You should look up what Grant F Smith has to say about recently released documents from the 1960's.

Israel or the State of Israel is the best friend, most reliable best friend of the US or the United States. These alone merits the Americans best regard or understanding and cooperaion for these more beleaguered nation or nationalities.

Congress represents the people...therefore, the people of the United States also stand by Israel, in spite of the Obama administration's lack of international relations capabilities.

Missing from the article is the fact that not only is Israel building Israeli only apartments in East Jerusalem, but denying building permits to Palestinians and also cracking down hard on them for building violations while letting Israelis slide. Knowing that makes this morbidly amusing:

“I never thought I’d live to see the day that an American administration would denounce the state of Israel for rebuilding Jerusalem,” Rep. Mike Pence said

Oh, and move aside U.K.!

“We have no stronger ally anywhere in the world than Israel,” said House Republican leader John Boehner

Makes you wonder what these two and Nancy Pelosi are getting from Israel.
