Strange, I seem to recall meeting a Palestinian in London several years ago.

Maybe it was a figment of my imagination?

I have been saying exactly that here for many months. The Israelites, Philistines and other Canaanites were conquered by Nebuchadnezzar and since then their kingdoms have been ruled by a series of imperial powers, including the Persians, Romans, Ottomans and British. For the Palestinians, nee Philistines their current colonial ruler are the Israelis.

When is the world going to wake up to these racist animals?

Apartheid is an abomination!

What can we expect??..

The truer thoughts and feelings of Israel are being exposed.

And so what does this idiot call the residents of the Occupied Territories?

Either grant them independence or give them full Israeli citizenship. 56 years of this nonsense is enough.

Guess he can't count because there are 1.6 million Palestinians in Israel who are 20% of the population. In the West Bank and Gaza Strip there are 5.3 million exceeding the Jewish population of 5.2 million.

Why the surprise? This has been the strongest theme in modern Israel.

They're all walled up over there, guns under pillows, with an enemy that doesn't exist?

Great way to live.

Meanwhile, Israel seems to have been infected with the same thing as Russia, a dictator.

Denying the Palestinians are a people is something one expects to hear from the most rabid Israeli supporters in the US. It is a common theme among evangelicals who are most supportive of Israel. To hear it come from an Israeli is a bit of a surprise.

He is anti-Semitic.

There is no such thing as israeli people in Plastine.

He is stating a fact. They are Arabs. Palestine refers to a region in which Israel, Jordan, and disputed territories are located. The term Palestine was historically another way of saying Eretz Israel in the early part of last century. The Muslims there of course refused to refer to themselves as Palestinian. Check the Koran. The word Palestine does not appear. The current Arab push for the use of the word came after Israel defeated Jordan and the Arabs in those lands suddenly started calling themselves Arabs. Facts don't care about people's feelings.

Yep. Predictable types regurgitating rightwing, often theocratically inclined commentators. A bit like this:

Facts don't care about people's feelings

Yawn. What next? ‘Change my mind’?

While Israel only acknowledges 1.6 million Palestinians as part of its population, international law puts the number of Palestinians who are part of the legal population of the territory within the official borders of Israel at over 6 million.

Which is what the Apartheid Museum in Soweto describes as 'grand Apartheid' in the South African context.

Okay, convince me and show me some of their history, documents declaring of being a state or having an own culture. But don’t come up with those organized demonstrations, bombs, car bombings with time triggers , machine gun shootings or plane hijacks they are mostly known for. No, I mean something cultural that’s unique to them and more positively imaged. For example, the well known Palestinian clothe or scarf would be one item, but that’s surely not sufficient to declare all of them to a former state or even culture.

If Hamas has been labeled terrorist for denying the right of Israel to exist, what label should now be attached to an Israel that says Palestinians do not exist?

"Is there a Palestinian history or culture? There is none," he can be heard saying in footage of the speech he gave on Sunday at a conference in France shared widely on social media. "There is no such thing as a Palestinian people."

Perhaps the current government of Israel should also be officially labeled as a terrorist organization? I would argue that they should be.

Israeli minister says 'no such thing' as Palestinian people

This is not new. What is new is the push to present Palestinian as a people.

Basic history shows there was never a country or a people called Palestine or Palestinian. It is a recent invention.

And those Philistines were from present day Greece. Not present day Syria or Jordan, where the majority of Palestinian Arabs are from.

What is new is the push to present Palestinian as a people.

What are you trying to say? That "a people" only exist if they have a flag or a state government or an army or a license from the UK? People have existed in the place known as Palestine for centuries. Should they not be able to determine their own future?
