It is long overdue for full recognition and compliance with resolution 2334 (2016)

The war in Gaza. is spiralling out of control, with Iran expected/reported to launch reprisal strikes.

a) I think Israeli settlements are illegal and should never have been allowed. They all need to be removed and either sold or demolished. They should have been removed 10 yrs ago as a sign of good faith, assuming they couldn't be stopped or prevented completely.

b) OTOH, the settlers didn't do anything illegal according to the govt. They were attacked without provocation. Their families, friends, were taken hostage by Hamas, raped, killed, mistreated for months, so I can understand the desire for personal payback. Yes, it is wrong. What Hamas did was wrong too.

Of all the people in the world that should be allowed to immigrate to neighboring countries, the Palestinians have one of the best cases for asylum.

The Israeli govt. knows that the politically strong Jewish presence in the US will keep the money tap going every year and the undeniable backing even with a nasty ultra-right criminal like Netanyahu leading.

Palestinian health officials say over 460 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank by Israeli forces since the war erupted in October.

Why is this so shocking and news other than the fact it was a larger group than usual doing the attacking and killings?

460 since October! Notice the news doesn't ask or if it did doesn't point it out, but an equal number of Palestinians had been killed by settlers in 2023 prior to October!

Before October, 2023 was the deadliest year in the West Bank with nearly 500 Palestinians killed by settlers and an increase in land being taken by settlers from those killed and chasing others off their land.

Before 2023 over 1,000 Palestinians had already been killed by settlers.

The number of settlements has gone from the agreed 140 to 280 by the end of 2023 with 140 new totally illegal settlements all done by force a terror by settlers with IDF backing them up when Palestinisn authority police try to investigate killings and land taking or remove them, using the excuse the IDF is "protecting" Israelis!

These settler terrorist attacks are not new, this was not the first, it will not be the last and not a single person on the Israeli side will be arrested or charged.

But under the guise of being under threat, more weapons will be issued to settlers to " protect" themselves against "revenge" attacks, this is not speculation, this was the pattern done in previous similar situations!

And the USA will veto again any resolution the security Council makes against Israel.
