I was not aware the Lebanese Daily Star was 'US censored media', however, I remember how there was election related violence in both Lebanon and Palestine. The threat of getting shot in the head is hardly the signs of 'fair and transparent' elections.

You probably live in US or watch US censored media. the truthurts. The elections were fair and transparent in Lebanon and in Palestine.

Uh Bebert61, I don't know where you live, but a democracy means that, in general, you don't have to worry about being shot in the head for your election vote choices. Probably not a lot of gun fire in general involving the electorate.

the only democracy in the region.

Uh, Lebanon is a democracy and they are right next door. Occupied Palestine is a democracy that's how Hamas got control of Gaza, remember? Plus, there is nothing wonderful about a democracy. In many ways, Democracy is a system of rule without consequences for the leaders- unless, of course, the military revolts and kills some of those "democrats" as has happened in countries like Chile and Turkey (and for the better, I might add).

At this point Netanyahu needs to be biatch slapped. I hope the 500 or so houses are worth it. Build them well.

The only way justice will come is if a third party takes Congress that has the testicular fortitude to punish the Israeli government, rightists and settlers properly. Just another thing that should happen but will not.

For that to happen, America would first need to get a truly free press.

The Democrats won't do enough and the Republicans will reward Israeli bad behavior for their own self-aggrandizement. Money means more to the leaders of both parties than justice, but even the Republican base has no shame about it.

Please don't confuse a cry for justice with a gazing into the crystal ball.

Justice will come Nov 2nd. Wait for it. Have faith.

You have not been following the news Tim. Obama has blocked some weapons sales to Israel already. Last year he did approve a 30 billion dollar package over ten years to Israel though. I can't say how much of it is appearance and how much is genuine punishment, but further restrictions on Israel are possible. Not holding my breath however.

But that is beside the point. I am not telling you what will happen. I am telling you what could and should happen. Please don't confuse a cry for justice with a gazing into the crystal ball.

"And I don't see why the arms deal to the Saudis is trouble to this discussion."

I don't quite understand what you were trying to say there but anybody with a brain is going to understand that if the US is going to provide Saudis with sixty billion dollars worth of arms and military tech there is no way we are going to cut off aid and weapons to Israel, the only democracy in the region.

Only a frightfully simple mind would think I hate Israel. I hate the Israeli rightists and the government they have so much control over. I hate the settlers.

And I don't see why the arms deal to the Saudis is trouble to this discussion. I don't love Iran, and again, only a frightfully simple mind would think my opposition to the Israeli rightists is a nod of approval for Iran.

The U.S. could easily stop the settlements by pulling the plug on military support for Israel until Israel gets back in line...

Trouble is, for Israel haters like you, the Obama administration just OK'd the largest sale of weapons and armaments in American history. To Saudi Arabia of all places is going 60 billion dollars worth of military technology. Sixty billion dollars. Obama and his gang make the so-called neo-cons look like choir boys.

Its sad to see America so cowed by this tiny nation of Israel. The U.S. could easily stop the settlements by pulling the plug on military support for Israel until Israel gets back in line...of course permanently would not be bad either. Remember the Liberty!

Dude! Give Mr. Obama a chance, holding candles? Please! Mr. Obama knows that the Israelis and Palestinians are like cats and dogs, why waste your time there when he PROMISED to get our TROOPS out of Iraq and Afghanistan, this was his promise to the US voters, and MANY JEWISH VOTERS in the USA are democrats, so Mr. Obama has to be careful, to not get too involved in that Israeli/Palestinian debate that will NEVER SEE PEACE IN OUR LIFE TIMES, both the Jews and Muslims now are mostly hell bent on killing each other off, getting revenge, tit for tat sort of thing, heck just give both sides knives at let them get it out of their system, one big gory blood bath, instead of wasting our time and US tax dollars on a meaningless, hopeless part of the world.

Obama has set the ambitious goal of brokering a final Israeli-Palestinian peace deal by next September—hoping to do what a string of presidents have failed to do in nearly two decades of stop-and-start peace efforts.

He cannot hold a candle to the likes of even Clinton. No one believes this fraud Obama anymore.
