"Where are all the friends that were meant to stand with us?" Ha! Bibi, friendly nations don't intentionally insult the leader of a friendly nation when they don't get their way. You are a crybaby.

He's in perfect truth-denying company now.

Will Trump be the savior of the Israeli apartheid state? Do not count on it. Hillary was a conformist to the current Israeli government party line; Trump is a wild card. He could swing either way, or both ways. One piece of baggage Trump is carrying is that he has significant support from the so-call Alt Right, or, more accurately the old white supremacists. They are antisemitic. (They are making war on Jews in Montana at this moment.) Trump is beholden to these people. They are part of his power base. So, while Trump might get off on the Israeli government stomping on helpless Palestinians, he may also be restrained in being out and out for Israel.
At any rate, don't expect any humanitarian offerings from Trump.

The way Israel snidely builds on occupied land, while at the same time negotiating to dismantle settlements built on occupied land, while at the same time building on other occupied land reminds of Russia games with it's little green men in Crimea.
Not everyone will agree with me but I think Israel is the main obstacle to peace in the ME.

They're both bigots, so they can find hope in each other. Hope Bannon lets his thoughts on Jews slip.

Meanwhile Bibi ingratiated himself by summoning all the ambassadors associated with the UNSC resolution for a dressing down. On Christmas Day.

Which is what Netanyahu wants. Obviously.

Israel cuts off all its farm aid to Senegal (something like $3 million) in retaliation for its sponsorship of the resolution (screw those African farmers!) while gladly accepting $3 billion a year from the United States to beef up its military regime that segregates, discriminates against, and disempowers people living within Israel's borders. Shame on Bibi and his ilk.

It wasn't bold, or even unusual, for the US government to abstain on this vote. Indeed, if Obama had vetoed it, he'd have gone into the history books as an especially shameful example of American Presidents who support Apartheid by being the first in a long while to have vetoed every attempt to denounce it. Israel has been an Apartheid regime from the moment it declared that it was denying citizenship and residency rights to a major part of its legal population so that it could style itself as a Jewish majority state, and, not surprisingly, had 'trouble' with the disenfranchised and dispossessed part of its population since the time it began laying the groundwork for that.

Actually NONE. No-one in the West dares say boo to Israel for fear of bullying by politicians, spin doctors and lobbyists who make the post-truthers look like a bunch of choir boys.
There cannot be peace while the illegal occupations of Palestinian land continue. The US finally acknowledged this festering elephant in the room by choosing for the first time not to veto this UNSC resolution.
Division is the low hanging fruit of politics: any idiot can do it. Peace takes more courage than an army of Natanyahus could muster. Israelis and Palestinians deserve so much more than Bibi.

Israel is clearly wrong and obviously seeks to antagonize and dispossess others-despicable!

deadbeatlesDEC. 27, 2016 - 03:20AM JST ...c'mon... this is truly laughable. You're all taking this far too seriously. How many presidents, secretary's of state, nobel prize winners, token positioned politicians, etc, etc... have been lauded as having negotiated peace between Palestine and Israel? This is like filling a paved highway pothole with sand... Wake up.
I have to agree with !
Realizing M.E. Peace is like solving a Rubik's cube without any limbs.
