I've been a political junkie all my life. I grew up right on the Potomac River. I'll be watching most of these, after I get home from work that is, plus reading about them and arguing about them this summer with family and friends while back home. But even I can admit that June 26, 2019 is way too freaking early to start an election campaign that won't come to an end until November 3, 2020. The enormous money and time spent campaigning is fundamentally undemocratic and obviously hinders our elected officials' ability to govern.

Senator Tom Udall said something interesting when he announced he wouldn't run again next year when his term expires:

Without the distraction of another campaign, I can get so much more done to help reverse the damage done to our planet, end the scourge of war, and to stop this president's assault on our democracy and our communities.

IOW, a private citizen, admittedly well-off, can get more done than a United States senator!? Let that sink in for a minute.

Anyway, go Bernie and Warren, time for Biden to sink. Without Obama, this guy was nothing and will once again prove that he is nothing.

America's one party system really puts on quite a two party show. As we saw last election it does not matter who Democrats vote for in the primaries, they will get whoever the big wigs want. And its the same with the general election and good luck counting electrons if you think the internet connected voting machine count was rigged in any way. You won't have democracy by sitting at home praying. You have to be there counting votes by hand. You also have to vote outside of the two party sham.

If anything the last election shows the opposite: the big wigs in the GOP wanted anybody but Trump, yet he ended up as the candidate. The Democratic party might do the same this time around, Biden is just leading the polls because he is the name most people recognize, he isn't the 2020 "anointed one" by any means.

Regardless of who wins the debate, none of these Democrats have anything to offer the American voter except higher taxes, socialism and open borders.

A parade of bunch of nobodies... American's future isn't looking too good right now

Keep calm and vote Trump. ;)

It's worth repeating - campaign hard for your candidate of choice up to the primaries. Once the candidate has been chosen, campaign for (or at least vote for) that candidate over Trump. There are three goals here - remove Trump, keep the House, and flip the Senate. Don't let that get lost in the day to day politicking.

Bunch of clowns.

Looks just like romper room.

Anyone of those Dems would be better than Trump who somehow gets some people to believe that he isn't doing huge damage to the US in almost every area.

Elizabeth Warren is my bet. She was urged to run in 2016 but refrained to maintain her Senate seat. Warren would certainly upset the status quo.

I'm not a fan of Democrats and I gotta say this photo really does a disservice to them, there's not one good photo of any of the 20 Democrats here. In reality several of them are not really Democrats they're socialists/communists.

"I'm here to tell you, I hope to be your nominee," Biden told applauding voters in Columbia. "But here's the deal: whomever the Democratic nominee is, we have to stay together and elect a Democrat president of the United States."

Yeah! In 2016 after the DNC gave the nomination to Hillary, a lot of Bernie supporters voted for Trump.

Like Biden, Buttigieg enters the event singed with race-related controversy, after the fatal shooting of a black man by a white officer in South Bend led to black residents jeering the mayor at a town hall meeting.

As if this was Buttigieg's fault.

"Whether it's Biden or Elizabeth Warren or anybody else, what I believe is that in fact I am the strongest candidate to defeat Donald Trump," Sanders told CNN last week.

I dunno, he's 77, he'll be 79 by the time he takes office if he wins, he's a socialist who has never had a real job outside taxpayer paid political jobs and he wants to raise our taxes and put the government in charge of everyone's health care. Trump would have to get us into a needless war and the economy would have to crash in order to lose to him.

Anyone of those Dems would be better than Trump

Nah, it's just the opposite. Unless he gets us into a needless war, I'd vote for him even over Tulsi Gabbard.

It's going to be an absolute circus.

none of them.  If Elizabeth Warren is the best they can do, then think they are in trouble.  Her latest wheeze is to pay "reparations" to gay couples who couldn't file joint tax returns in the past.  ?????

Who’s going to grab the bull by the horns and get into the key hand size question?

.Who’s going to be the first to crack a knob joke in a debate?

Oh, it’s the Democrats.

campaign for (or at least vote for) that candidate over Trump.

I don’t want more fascism or socialism, so no thanks.

There are three goals here - remove Trump,

How? With what policy? Erasing all student debt? Who’s going to pay for that? Reparations? So all White people that had nothing to do with slavery has to pay? Wanting to rob Paul to give to Peter, shove down more entitlements, make people more dependent. Yeah, that’ll all help defeat Trump. ROFL!

keep the House,

At this rate, the Dems could really lose it and I don’t mean just mentally.

and flip the Senate.

That won’t happen, in fact, they might gain a couple of seats.

Don't let that get lost in the day to day politicking.

yeah....uh-huh..
