Zichi, money doesn’t make food. Farmers, workers and truck drivers do.

Truck drivers make food? I thought they drive trucks.

Money doesn’t make good, but it buys food.

If those people aren’t working, you can have all the money you want, but you won’t eat.

You won’t eat without money either.

Italy's second phase of the battle against a virus that has now officially killed 15,887 may be trickier for the government to pull off than the first.

The high death toll that Italy (and perhaps Spain) has is at least partly related to how they count them. Anyone who dies and tests positive for the virus is counted as a Corona death. But apparently only about 12% of those deaths are directly attributable to Corona; i.e., the remaining 88% died with Corona but no evidence they died because of Corona.

Good news. Makes a pleasant change.

Lots of fog of war and conflicting information about this situation.

Some things to consider: With the big reduction in industrial activitiy, the air quality over Northern Italy (where the spike of deaths occured) has massively improved. Check some satellite photos.

Another thing that is often not mentioned: obesity is one of the biggest risk factors for Corona. Italy is pretty high on the chart, and the US and UK are leaders.

One more thing to consider: In German, the coroners office in Hamburg determined that half of the cases listed by the government as "Corona" deaths died with Corona, not from Corona. I expect similar results pretty much everywhere, if autopsies were performed.

Burning Bush:

I’m all for a return to normalcy and cool headed thinking.

Spreading panic and fear is not my thing.

Agree. On a positive note, did you notice that all the traditional (non)issues that people used to hyperventilate over have all disappeared from the news and the readers section?

Yeah, no more freaking out about the alleged global warming....

Oh, and one more thing about Italy; they have a large number of very old people.
