Her comments throughout the speech drew applause, particularly when she praised Saudi Arabia.

where her trip was paid for by US taxpayers; and where she and Jared are doing business with their fellow ruling class 'elite'.

“The Power of Influence.” It was an apt theme for Trump, whose loyalty and support for her father's presidency saw her and her husband, Jared Kushner, take up formal roles in the White House as his advisers.

Trump's banana republic, run primarily for the benefit of himself, his family, his syndicate and his fellow global elite.

By the way, did you complain about this at the time...

I think that liberal fabricated debunked talking points flavor has run out. Time to think of a new one.

She ought to stick to lecturing on the only subject she has any knowledge of - selling handbags at Macy's...

Oh by the way Ivanka, what do you say about the women who were working in Chinese sweatshop factories making your shoes? Of course, that was before it failed....

She certainly takes after her father - a hypocrite and a failure...

Nepotism is banana republic behaviour.

Thsnk God, liberals can’t stop her, they just have to take it.

Again? Lol Lincoln, don’t buy clothes anywhere anymore. Lol

Having an almost 50% favorable view overall especially the economy where he’s a rock star, over 84% popularity in the GOP can hardly constitute as a failure...meanwhile on the socialist train wreck side...

Applause and ker-ching for "Daddy's Girl" as long as she doesn't mention "Bonesaws" and Khashoggi.

I worked in the sales department for a few years. She gives a decent presentation. The voice is a bit whiny, the body language is a bit distracting and she’s no great intellect, but she’s got looks, some charm and dresses well.

6/10. She can flog stuff.

Doesn't surprise me... all this lefty negativity.

Mentioning Saudi and UAD and womens rights in the same sentence is a bit strange, but yes, the UAE currently have a relatively secular ruler who limits Shariah excess, and the Saudis have been taking baby steps in the direction of cutting down on extreme Wahabism. I understand Saudi women can now drive cars and get passports without written permissing by their male owner.

Also don´t forget where she is... you can not expect her to get into fundamental cricitism of Sharia. Most notably, notice the absence of a black abaya or even a headscarf.

So credit where credit is due.

Can't stop her selling Chinese made handbags? Free country...

So who said this? "We can't continue to allow China to rape our country, and that's what we're doing," he told the campaign rally on Sunday.

With a weak, contracting GDP according to his Dept of Commerce. And, tell us again, where are Donnie's ties and shirts made?

Been to Walmart or Target lately? Everything is made in China even Apple products. Damn the world!

So who said this? "We can't continue to allow China to rape our country, and that's what we're doing," he told the campaign rally on Sunday.

And he’s doing a pretty good job phase 2 coming soon.

With a weak, contracting GDP according to his Dept of Commerce. And, tell us again, where are Donnie's ties and shirts made?

Weak, not the US, Canada.....well....

@zichi,

Ok...hundred yen shops then.

Saudi is a greater sponsor of terrorism than Iran.

That is true. But it does not make the Iranian theocracy harmless.

The same Saudi Arabia that executed a record number of people last year?

The same Ivanka Trump who China grants trademark after trademark?

Yep, the same Saudi Arabia that Obama could not bow deep enough to, almost hitting the floor:

Hardly - but Ivanka's shoes, Donnie's ties, and Trump/Pence 2020 banners are...

There are US textile companies that can make these - why aren't they?

So who said this? "We can't continue to allow China to rape our country, and that's what we're doing," he told the campaign rally on Sunday.

And he’s doing a pretty good job phase 2 coming soon.

So why in 2016, when he said China was "raping" America, was he getting his ties and shirts made there?

With a weak, contracting GDP according to his Dept of Commerce. And, tell us again, where are Donnie's ties and shirts made?

Weak, not the US, Canada.....well....

Really? So information on the US Dept of Commerce website false?

True. Trump isn’t the first to kiss the backside of these people.

Nothing has changed.

The world needs to get off Mideast oil as quickly as possible.

Agree! I have been saying this for the longest time. One of my criticisms of Trump is that he is not doing more to help research into safe nuclear energy (gen IV). Fracking is only a temporary solution.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

She got to be kidding me, look at yr father and whats he is saying first. Best joke of the day.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Thank you Ivanka for having the courage to scold Saudi Arabia. Family members of previous administrations never did that.

Principles before profit.

The head member of the current administration never did that too

"Profit over principles: US not blocking arms sales to Riyadh"

In 2015, Trump boasted about his business dealings with the Saudis: “Saudi Arabia, I get along with all of them. They buy apartments from me. They spend $40 million, $50 million. Am I supposed to dislike them? I like them very much.”

How about more research and investment into renewables too? Is that ideologically unacceptable?

No, it is all fine, but not a solution. Replacing fossil fuels with windmills and solar panels is a pipe dream, we need a reliable base load. That said, I have no problem with funding research.
