Ginnie, let me give you the best free legal advice you’re ever going to get: Get yourself a really great criminal defense attorney. You’re going to need it.

No, Clarence doesn’t count.

Members of the House committee investigating the Capitol riot said Sunday they may subpoena former Vice President Mike Pence and are waiting to hear from Virginia “Ginni” Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, about her role in the illegal plot to overturn the 2020 election.

I doubt if Pence would show - he has already sent his Chief of Staff and senior counsel, so we know he's cooperating, but going in person would just bring more nooses and gallows outside every place he shows up...

Ginni Thomas is a special kind of MAGA-warrior. Here she was, wife of a sitting Supreme Court Justice, actively involved in the coup to name fraudulent electors and phony certification lists. She needs to sit in the dock under oath and answer questions....

Thomas has publicly indicated that she “can't wait” to appear before the committee after receiving their request by letter last week.

Uh-oh....expect a MAGA-meltdown...imagine we'll hear more about Hugo Chavez, Italian satellites, and Chinese thermostats....

Along with emailing Arizona officials, Thomas, who attended a rally Trump held just before the Capitol riot, also had written to then-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows in the weeks after the election encouraging him to work to overturn Biden’s victory. Emails recently obtained by the committee also show Thomas had email communications with John Eastman, the lawyer who played a key role on behalf of Trump in efforts to pressure Pence to overturn the election. “I think the committee will be interested, in among other things, whether this was discussed with Justice Thomas, given that he was ruling on cases impacting whether we would get some of this information,” Schiff said. This past January, Thomas was the lone member of the court who supported a bid by Trump to withhold documents from the Jan 6. committee.

Not content with corrupting just the Executive Branch, Trump and MAGA-world then tried to corrupt the Judicial Branch...

The Jan 6th committee is showing all Americans what a criminal the previous President and his cabal of kooks from "Team Crazy" were - and how they tried to trample all over our Constitution...

Following the evidence, it is time to charge Trump with seditious conspiracy. To uphold the rule of law there must be criminal accountability and not for just for the insurrection's pawns (some of these are already paying for their gullibility).

The damage that the Malignant Narcissist - together with a supporting cast of disgraceful Republican toadies - has done to American democracy is already extreme and it is ongoing.

It seems that a couple days before each hearing, we start to get teasers on what’s coming next. I’m guessing Tuesday will be about Ginni.

Amazing, it's as if US politicians is not responsible for anything else than to put holes in each other. Inflation rising, supply chain in tatters, China moving into Indo Pacific, a war in Eastern Europe, a lingering pandemic, and they spend their time languishing in a political protest. The champion of democracy and free speech snuffing out protest, because it's a protest against politicians. LOL.

Keep hosing them off and putting them into cages. That's where The Big Lie supporters deserve to be.

If Ginni Thomas is involved, and it certainly looks like she is, then it’s really hard to believe that her husband US Supreme Court justice Thomas isn’t also involved. Shocking.

Not surprising....

With the first full week of hearings for the House select committee's investigation into the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol now complete, nearly 6 in 10 Americans believe former President Donald Trump should be charged with a crime for his role in the incident, a new ABC News/Ipsos poll finds.

Six in 10 Americans also believe the committee is conducting a fair and impartial investigation, according to the poll.

Of course, that won't stop the rallies and upcoming 2024 announcement....there's a lot more than $250 million to fleece from the flock yet....

yeah 554 people surveyed with a 4.5% margin of error.

Had to make a quick survey to match the article that was already written before the survey even happened.

thought you didnt "do" polls and surveys?

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

This survey finds only 34% of Americans are following the hearings somewhat or very closely, including only 9% following it very closely.   However, 60% believe the committee is conducting a fair and impartial investigation.

Yet people who arent even following this believe it is fair and impartial.

How would they know?

thought you didnt "do" polls and surveys?

No, you guys have been saying the polls cannot be trusted ever since Trump "won" (except that the people didn't actually want him) in 2016.

Weird that you already forgot that. It's not that long ago. Memory problems?

...and all this by a Committee that isn't even considering asking for a criminal case to be started. Sorry, Trump may have been delusional but not criminal. Going after a president requires a totally watertight case- if that doesn't exist, the case won't be brought. The precedents it may set are too great to tamper with unless the case is a stone cold winner.

These riots were just the culmination of months of political violence in the US, starting with the George Floyd rioting and looting in the summer of 2020 and extending to January 6. A rather heated election year, exascerbated by a pandemic. And we cna see the violence continuing with the attempted assassination of a Supreme Court Justice.

all this by a Committee that isn't even considering asking for a criminal case to be started.

How could they? You do realize that committees are given an outline of their objectives right? And that having a criminal case isn't part of that, and therefore they have no ability to do so?

Maybe you people should try reading up on the specifics so you don't look so silly be exposing yourself for your ignorance by making statements that show you to not know what you're talking about.

yet the committee CAN refer to DOJ. they have not, and will not. Their chairman said so.

yet the committee CAN refer to DOJ.

No.

they can in fact do so. they wont.

The New York Times said otherwise on Sunday, in a report headlined: “January 6 Panel Has Evidence for Criminal Referral of Trump, but Splits on Sending.”

“The debate centers on whether making a referral – a largely symbolic act – would backfire by politically tainting the justice department’s expanding investigation into the January 6 assault and what led up to it,” the paper said.

Attila: and all this by a Committee that isn't even considering asking for a criminal case to be started.

They don't have that authority. Only the DOJ can bring charges so their audience is Garland.

Sorry, Trump may have been delusional but not criminal.

Nah, he broke the law when he knowingly asked Pence to break the law. Even Eastman was asking for "one small violation" from Pence, then he asked for a pardon.
